  Rev, apparently you don't know the meaning of a slippery slope, today The WTS, tomorrow your religion. Believe me, I have no love for the WTS, but they are a religion and should have the same rights as any other religion. Having said that, the court cases should proceed here in the US and Canada over the child abuse issue. No one is above the law.

  I know exactly what a 'slippery slope' means:

  Today this religion allows the rape of children, tomorrow maybe your religion.

  That is a slippery slope!

  Look, I'm all for freedom of religion until such time as they allow the abuse of innocent people (especially children). In my eyes it's not a matter of freedom to worship your God, it's a front to commit crimes against humanity.

  If we keep allowing it, they'll keep doing it. Hell, Jim Jones was practicing his freedom of religion, where is it that you'd like to draw the line?

  Working For Masons?

  say for instance a hospital?

  I was told once that I couldn't work for the YMCA and hold any position and that it may end up being a 'judicial matter' if I took the job.

  My uncle passed away..

  it was only a matter of time before my uncle nathan passed away.

  i wished i had gone and seen him before he died, but i didn't because we had a dustup about a month ago.

  he was a sad tale..he had the talent beaten out of him by his abusive alchoholic elder for a father...he played classical cello for a while...except all that talent was robbed from him...so he ran...ran away and joined the navy...left the navy and led a hard life...jail, homelessness, near death motorcycle accidents, etc...he ended up in the va hospital about a year ago...he had fallen into a deep depression after succumbing to the inherited condition anti trypsin(sp?

  the standard for robot exclusion (sre) is a means by which web site owners can instruct automated systems not to crawl their sites.

  web site owners can specify files or directories that are allowed or disallowed from a crawl, and they can even create specific rules for different automated crawlers.

  all of this information is contained in a file called robots.txt.

  Sure, just not those directories. The robots are to stop the spidering, which some search engines perform to index URLs. So, URLs within these directories may be indexed in some search engines, but few and far between. Most likely they don't want to use up bandwidth, since these folders contain large multimedia files.

  I don't know what they have in scripts or releases, but the image files and the video files can use up some bandwidth if the search engines were hitting them often enough, and google for one comes around quite often. There's really no need to index images, and keeping your image folder in your robots file also cuts down on people swiping them.

  i'm trying to come up with a list of various non-jw and russellite groups.

  it's already pretty much established that the jw claim of being unified is hogwash, but this information should be itneresting.

  if anyone has anything not here, or more information please post it.

  I don't believe the Watchtower has ever hidden this information though. I remember a talk that went around the circuit for a while in the 80's that was on this very topic. They had a chart and everything of the spin-offs from Russell.
