Nothing special about the Memorial this year. It's the first time I go after knowing the TTATT and I must say listening to all the 144,000 stuff is so bizarre that I could only ask myself how I was able to believe all that nonsense.

Memorial
by Gorbatchov inwhat i noticed during the memorial is the over organised ritual aspect.
for a non jw is must be hard to follow.. for me, i noticed that during the memorial there is no attention for the historical jesus and the historical events.
it's all about the kingdom arrangement with it's central point, the governing body of jw.. do you noticed this also?.

Life is changing for me: no pioneering, got a job!
by Skepsis ina month ago i decided to register in this board.
i had decided to step down pioneering but was frightened about the consequences.
i had finished my university degree some months before (despite disaproval from brothers in my congregation) and i had to choose: continue pioneering and working in jobs with no future or starting a career, working full-time.. i was thinking to postpone the decisiton but... i was fed up with preaching.

A quick update to this thread.
Now I'm not assigned to conduct any meeting for field circus for "being too busy". I'm not stepping down as MS for now, but I'm losing some meetings without their permission. This week I'm not attending to the two meetings (got too much stressed yesterday with the Memorial), next month I'll have a free whole week abroad for working reasons and a wedding another weekend.
I'm not giving any reason and I'm not asking for permission, just notifying as a fact.
Let's see what happens.

Was it just me or was something different about the memorial last night?
by kpop inthis was the first memorial that i declined to do any work for the memorial.
i was assigned as a parking attendant after getting downgraded from doing the sound and had no intention of doing either task but i had to attend for my family and continuation of my fade.
i sat there last night listening to the talk and couldn't help but shake my head as my brain attempted to process the bs.

I can only say what happened in my congregation.
Firstly, the campaing to deliver the invitations didn't cover all the territories so many 25%-30% of the invitations are stocked in the Hall and a lot of brothers said they haven't delivered all the invitations they got. This is happening in a foreign language congregation where there are bible studies. Elders are so worried that the Service Overseer insisted me yestarday to fake the numbers in the books to appear as all the territories have been taken by the brothers during the campaing and not to receive a complain by the CO during his visit next week.
And then, the spirit of the celebration was very grey. We had a visit from abroad of a couple that used to be in the congregation serving for years and no one wanted to have dinner after. Brothers were as in the rest of meetings during the year, nothing special.

Yes, a lot of patience is needed to be present at meetings and with family and brothers. Sometimes it's hard not to say too much about what you really believe about the JW religion.

I've seen a complete lack of love in the organisation since I was a child, particularly brothers and sisters in their 80s and 90s who from one day to another stop attending to meetings and then you find out they're in a elderly homecare where elders don't visit them.
But you know, there are a lot of things to do like visiting strangers who don't want to listen to you or make the general cleaning of the Kingdom Hall. Such things are clearly more important. 😡

Hi everyone,
After knowing the TTATT I felt anger of all the lies I was told for years. Then, I did some changes in my life to the better. I was doubting but felt relieved. But now, I feel my fading is slowing.
I have to go to the meetings for the sake of my family and still be serving as MS. Despite that, all the doubts became certainties but I have still to pay lip service to the religion, nodding to everything coming from the platform and what is worst, having to pronounce lies from there.
At the same time, while I'm in this process of quitting the religion, I'm trying to adapt to the world. I made important changes (getting a better job, etc.) but I'm struggling with meeting new people. Also, I'm realising all the time lost in the religion. But being still inside makes me feel very sad. I feel like living in two completely different worlds.
In fact, last week it was the birthday of one of my colleagues at work and they planned to buy a cake. Then, at the office they sang "Happy birthday". I rejected to sing other times but I wanted to do it this time. I started singing it but felt so bad after it!
Don't know if it's normal for you who are fading now or faded in the past. I'm feeling so lonely. A colleague at work noticed it but I couldn't explain it all. How to explain it to someone that knows nothing about the JW world?
Did you experienced the same during fading? How are you managing it?

Is it possible to decline preaching in the carts?
by Skepsis inhi folks,.
i have a difficult dilemma.
since i'm not pioneering any more, i'm reducing my hours wasted at that artifact known as cart or trolley.

UPDATED: I have declined being in the carts from next month as I'll be busy on Saturdays. Didn't give more details, just saying I'll be very busy all Saturdays.
Another step in my fading. I hated doing the carts, even when I believed all of this so I'm quite relieved. I also told the elders I'm not preaching during the week as I'm working long hours and can't go to the KH at time to attend meetings for field service.
An elder asked me to preach later but I rejected and told him "I'm finishing really late". I'll be in Field Service only on Sunday and only some of them.

In my country , there are the same amount of publishers since 2002. I know no new one in my area and there are 8 congregation over here.
They're basically the same people but 15 years older. They divided congregations and now they're finding out there are no sufficient number of elders and especially MS to attend all the tasks.
I believe there are 8 mill pubs but not here in Europe nor the richer countries. Add to that, they're not present in China. So, they're growing in poor countries in Africa.
Not a good prospect for their finaces.
