  sept 11 brings out JW blood-lust

  i met a bunch of witnesses from my old congregation on a ferry to seattle a month ago.

  i tried avoiding them but they spotted me and their was no escape.

  they all seemed to be very jovial and asked me if i was going to the meetings.

  I don't really think that the person who posted this topic was talking about the HQ of JW's. They are were talking about the majority of the wackos elsewhere who were oh so happy about this event because to them it means that armageddon and even more death are just around the corner.
  So, they cried when they saw the devastation, that just means they're closer to having normal emotions than we previously thought.
  JW's were not the only religion out there that was offering their warped version of support. I believe that the church of Scientology was down there doing the same. I know that they even had their number flashing across the screen on the Fox News offering their warped support. I sincerely doubt that many people here would have kind things to say about them either.

  hello, i know this board for about a week but didn t dare to register and post something, to let the cat out of the bag ... i am a jw :) i was shocked after i read through some of the topic here.

  honestly, i haven t seen any apostates in action until i started visiting this board.

  Don't believe that just because Jesus said that you would be prosecuted that prosecution due to the JW's warped belief means that you are following him. What he meant was that evil doers would treat him and his followers badly due to the fact that they are exposing their bad deads. There is a big difference there. I treat dog poop that I step in badly because of its actions too. Doesn't mean that its following Jesus.
  Also, what's with this "Oh, this is to simple to be true" bit? There is one very simple scientific rule that says the simplest answer is the best answer. This applies to religion as well. In fact, the thought is one that really made me stop believeing in the bible is that if whatever form of god you may believe in really did speak to human kind why didn't he/she/it do it more clearly and loudly? You don't see little signs on some but not all hazardous materials do you? No, of course not! The people who make the chemicals make it loud and clear what is in them. Don't you think god would do the same?

  I believe pretty much nothing that the JW taught. I was born and raised in it too. Why do I not believe any of thier crap? Don't believe in the bible and especially not their weird twisted version of it.

  Pureheart,
  Just because other religions have problems also doesn't mean that the WT is the best. I couldn't care less if other religions have problems, I was born and raised a JW also along side my entirely JW family. There is no way I could possibly go along, and especially trying to recruit new members, with an organization that would be willing to let my child die by refusing blood transfusion. Don't you feel the least bit hypocritical studying with other people to get them to believe something that you don't completely believe in yourself? Other religions have problems and so do the JW's. Look at it this way using your own logic, Jehovah's Witnesses could be rapists and other religions could kill the people after they rape them but that doesn't diminish the fact that JW's are still rapists.
  Why do people feel this need to belong to a religion? They don't have to. Believe it or not there is happiness outside of religion folks.

  What church should I go to now?

  they all have the american flag, crosses, and symbols.

  if i go to the kingdom hall i will just get shunned and i do need association.

  my husband won't let me take my son to a church.

  When I finally realized how full of crap the JW's were I went through this situation myself. What did I finally end up doing? Nothing. I eventually figured out that I can't believe in the bible or just about any other holy book so I don't go to any church or classify myself under any type of religion at all and you know what, I couldn't be happier with my life.

  What do you drive and why?

  well, a post on the good ol days got me thinking about the vehicles people drive and why.

  in the jws, a vehicle had to be appropriate for service, four doors, holding at least five.

  i remember back in 1978 i bought an mgb and the brothers had a fit (hehe), i was selfish, etc.,.

  97 Saturn SL2 with every option available. Why that? It was a good price and I've known other people who've had Saturns and what they've said is true, those cars just don't break down. I don't know much about cars and I don't really like messing with them very much so it works out well.
  I'd love a DeLorean but don't have the money for it..... :(

  Does anyone still have their NWT ?

  i was speaking with a man the other night on yahoo and he gave me a few verses to compare.. a while back i gave my copy of the nwt to a friend who came in contact with jw's quit often and wanted to used it to compare scriptures.

  anyway, could someone please look up these scriptures and compare them to the nwt and post the differences?

  i was told that the nwt omits parts of these verses.. matthew 18:11 luke 4:8 john 8:9 acts 8:37/23.9 romans 13:9. thanks in advance.. "i don't want someone in my life i can live with, i want someone in my life i can't live without.

  Nope, don't have mine anymore. After I quit going I actually did something the WT says to do. Burn all your demonic items. Took my NWT as well as all old books and magazines I could find and had a nice little bonfire. It was fun!!!

  Christmas Wish List

  its nearly time to sit on santas knee and tell him what you want for christmas...... so come on, tell us what is on your wish list and give me some ideas on what to buy that person who has everything they want already!.

  oh, by the way, i want a blood pressure machine..... dont ask, isnt having 3 kids, a college course and 2 jobs enough reason?.

  Speaking as someone who has an expensive specialized hobby I know I always like it when people who have no idea how to shop for it (that should be taken as my in-laws) get me books about it. Check www.booksamillion.com or something like that and I'm guessing you'll be able to find a few ideas.
  What would I really like for Christmas? Large slice of almost any pallasite meteorite that is either anomolous or of the pyroxene grouplet. I'd also love to a Bali subgroup CV3 carbonaceous chondrite. Told you my hobby was specialized..........

  I'm a useless Apostate :(

  i've been lurking here for a while now, posted a handful of times, but this board has had a profound effect on me.. i have just finished reading coc which i would never have even heard of if it wasn't for this board.. anyway, in light of everything i have learned here, i have been waiting expectantly for the next unsuspecting jw's to knock on my door, just so i can er, 'enlighten' them.. about 15 minutes ago, just that happened.

  i answered a knock on my door to be confronted by two jw's.

  one of them i remembered vaguely from a neighboring cong, and the other was someone i knew pretty well from my old cong.. so what did i do?

  I wouldn't really say point out some of their weaker points so that they can see the real truth but do so just so you'll feel better arguing with them. I know I did that when some elders were out in field service and didn't realize whose house they were at. It felt great and I still get a good laugh out of it when I think about it, especially the frightened looks on their faces!
