That's hilarious that you agreed the NW Evansville elders were pricks even back then. It actually got so bad once back when I still went that a couple of them (John Stein and Ken Goans, I think Ken was in the SW cong. back then though) were made by the other elders to call me and apologize for being such jerks.
Do you remember an older lady named Margie Bourland? That's my grandmother. She died back in 98. I don't remember exactly what it was but do remember that had she taken a blood transfusion she'd probably be here with us today.

i played the poker machines today at work.
i put in $5 and at first played for a quarter.
well, i was down to my last dollar and thought,(i'm going to lose anyway, might as well go for broke.
Just for the record, I hardly ever gamble. There's a riverboat casino in my town and every once in a while my wife and I will go blow a couple bucks each on the nickel slots but that's it. Well, except for the first time I ever went when I lost like $30.

i know that jw's say only 144,000. however, i just read a book called "as time runs out" by robert jeffress and he claims that all christians who have received jesus will be picked up at the rapture.
but, he says, we will not all have the same rank in heaven.
he claims that different responsibilities will be assigned.

First of all, sorry to hear about what happened Venice. I think most of us here have had to deal with some sort of shunning BS like this. Just remember you're not the only who has to deal with sort of stuff.

You can't blame your sister... It's not her fault. She thinks she is doing the right thing.
What a load of crap!!! You can too blame her! She's the one doing it. She's the one that should be held responsible for her actions. There's only one person responsible for her actions and that's her. If I went out and did anything to hurt anyone for any reason what so ever it would be my own fault. Instead of always trying to make people out to be better than they really are face the facts that if someone is an ass its because they chose to be an ass regardless of the reasons. People need to take responsibility for their own actions and stop trying to blame them on everyone else.

If today the Bible said only: "Give your life to Jesus and do everything he says!" Would you drop everything and do it?
No!!!!! I need some sort of irrefutable proof that the bible (or any book for that matter) is as wonderful as it says it is.
I've got a piece of paper sitting in my living room that says "Send rhett all your money." The amazing thing is someone else wrote on the paper this morning and said "rhett will want money" although the name "john" is scratched out with "rhett" writen above it. There's also "The boiling point of water is 67 degrees" written on it. Now the only question is, how are you going to send me your money? There's a paper with amazing prophesy as well as scientific acuracy just the same as what's found in the bible so you should send me your money. I'll be expecting payment immediately or else you'll be subject to the incoherant ramblings written by my friend that talks about this weird dream he had last night after eating some really spicy food.

Owensboro Kentucky until 1989. NW congregation in Evansville Indiana until I left in 1999. For the record, I stopped going even though I still believed most of the doctrine but just couldn't stand being around the elders of that congregation. Saying I thought they were asses is an understatement.

whats with the plot of this yawner,its been done a bit too much.she was terrible and gene hackman must have needed the money when he signed on to do this groaner..just my opinion and we all know what they about opinions...they are just like assholes, we all have them and they all stink...
For obvious reasons I'm going to have to say Gone With the Wind is a rather good movie. If any of you have ever seen the movie you know what the Clark Gable's name is in the movie and you've also seen the name at least one other place. That's not a coincidence.
