I was contacted (I've been inactive 4 years now) yesterday by an elder via text to inform me of the new arrangement for meetings via phone.
I just replied, "Thank you".
i saw a post on reddit from somebody claiming to be an elder that the jw religion wants to contact all inactives.. some of the responses indicate that some were contacted or had close friends or relatives being asked for their contact information.
some of these people have been out of the jw religion for many years and have moved on.
the ones contacted said the jw informed them about cancelled meetings (as though they would care).

first off, this is a book you want to read.
avoid the movie franchise at all costs.
horrible movies.. here's why i recommend this book: its prime focus is using rational reasoning to form your life philosophy - whether that be relationships, career or faith.. it also gives insight into the mind of someone who survived the geopolitical equivalent of the jws - the communist regime of stalin.. the antagonists of the book are referred to as "collectivists".
I'm almost done reading it. The book seems to be a prophetic warning to what we currently see occurring in the political world with the push to antagonize wealth.
Indeed I'd agree that ExJWs should indeed read her books, if even to have an alternate view presented to the leftist ideology many will be exposed to in colleges and other institutions. Her earlier book "Anthem" would be even more appropriate for exJWs, as the story more closely examines the dangers of complete collectivism, where self identity is thoroughly eliminated in favor the of the many. A concept very relatable to JWism.
we hear how the economy is much healthier now.
are you better off than you were before, or the same or worse?
?.
Definitely. Business is booming
two facts to consider: 1) most baptisms take place during assemblies and conventions; 2) the theocratic year goes from september to august.
my theory: the borg changed the calendar of conventions and assemblies so to concentrate the baptisms in a single theocratic year.
if some conventions used to take place in july/august, for the 2018 series they moved them to september.
The reason for the spike is a combination of various articles in 2018 encouraging "young ones" to take the plunge along with the chain of international assemblies that took place within 2019. What better time to do it.
I bet we'll see a big dip in the baptism numbers this year.
i know there is a huge college/university lobby here in the us that lives off of students paying, in some cases, enormous amounts of money just to attend.. putting politics aside, if that is possible, (and i am not a bernie sanders guy by any means), but how can we pay for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, high school, and then throw a huge debt to someone who wants to continue learning?
can't the us (public and state universities) afford four more years for young people to get on a career path without having to, in some cases, take out a mortgage/loan more than the cost of some homes?
then, (and nothing against immigrants, i am married to one), but then the us has to "import" students from other countries to fill the needs that we should be supplying here.
the following is an extract from an article i wrote when i left the watchtower 25 years ago.
it may be helpful in reasoning with a jw about the anointed/great crowd distinction.. --------------------------------.
to divide people into those with a heavenly hope and those with an earthly one is not a biblical concept.
KingJehu1: A Shit is decay, it even produces maggots when left for days , Jesus was raised incorruptible . 1Cor 15:42. No way he would still have such decaying tendency
Jesus's bodily functions after his supposed resurrection are not mentioned at all within the Bible. Therefore any claim for as to whether he continued to perform the completely natural and in your sole opinion "corruptible" act of expelling bodily waste, is completely based on your own personal assumptions.
Sorry for derailing your thread with this silly subject Cofty. This will be my last reply on the matter.
i have heard from a reliable source that the witchpower libel and crap society with it's governing body stands unified by a 5 year plan to introduce what they call "pure language".the rank and file have accepted saying there is room for improvement in our language:in the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c".
sertainly obedient servants of god's people will reseive this news with joy.
also the hard "c" will be replaced with "k".
Good stuff

KingJehu1
None of your reasoning above explains or proves in any way whatsoever that the supposedly resurrected Jesus didn't take a shit.
This idea remains your eisegetical assumption. Thx for the chuckle by the way. Hilarious subject.

KingJehu: The ressurected Jesus need not defecate when he collects fish from his disciples cos he wasn't human.
This idea of Jesus not shidding after his supposed resurrection is strictly your assumption.
a jp video came up on my youtube feed last week - he was on a panel in front of a huge audience and some poor disturbed guy ran on stage and started crying and wailing to peterson that he needed his help.
it was agonising to watch.. what was even more disturbing was the comments section.
i do not exaggerate when i say that dozens of people were extolling peterson's wisdom as if jesus had come again.
