  locally, in northern california i have seen/heard a drop in jw and mainstream church attendance especially in person attendance.

  (exception: a new creepy local new-age charismatic/pentecostal group: "bethel church" 11,000 and growing mega church(kundalini yoga/sex combined with prosperity gospel, trumpism, guns, rock music, dancing, glitter, speaking in tongues, and faith healing).. for me this paragraph sums it up regarding jehovah's witnesses: " ...smith described organized religion to me as having become a “polluted” idea in the american mainstream, because of the publicity around sex abuse scandals and financial malfeasance in many different faiths in the ’80s and ’90s as millennials came of age.

  “the scandals violated most of the virtues believed to make religion good,” smith wrote.

  probably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.

  in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?

  " by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.

  You are engaging on this "apostate" forum against the direction of your proclaimed religious authority.

  You are surely engaging over at the JWTalk website as well, also against the direction of your proclaimed religious authority.

  I bet you are likely considered "spiritually weak" in your own congregation, a perpetual drag on the elders burdened with the headache of dealing with your lack of commitment to the org's protocols and procedures.
