It appears he has indeed died. Sad story.

was going through proclaimers book and found this little nugget on page 232. there is so much wrong with this paragraph that my head almost exploded when i read it.. however, i was thinking, perhaps those like me that are trying to fade away without "trouble", can use this in the case that an elder should start questioning with intent of escalating matters.

Was going through Proclaimers book and found this little nugget on page 232. There is so much wrong with this paragraph that my head almost exploded when I read it.
However, I was thinking, perhaps those like me that are trying to fade away without "trouble", can use this in the case that an elder should start questioning with intent of escalating matters.
so i was scrolling through the latest morning worship videos and found our good friend tony m. explaining why the gb is not dogmatic.
.
you can find hirs reasoning at around the 3:30 mark here..
im in the process of drifting out.
my entire family are jw's.
my wife and her family are too.
Hi Pale.Emperor,
Congratulations on opening your eyes and using your conscience. It's no easy task for indoctrinated JW's to allow themselves to see beyond what they are told to look at.
Each one of us "drifts" or fades differently, but it seems you've already taken the first big step in having not preached in half a year. You are now considered "inactive" and thus you will probably be receiving some "shepherding" calls from your elders, particularly come CO visit time.
You have a few options:
-You can tell them the truth about your conclusions, which will most likely result in your DF
-You can maneuver the system to your advantage to bend the truth of your thoughts. (for instance when ray franz was asked if he thought the GB was the "slave", he said "it could be") This might not guarantee you wont be DF, but if you play your cards right, you can get away as someone who has doubts, but is not an apostate.
-You can hide, switching congs and avoiding shepherding calls altogether, but this does not seem to be a realistic option for you.
Anyways, you can read my story here
A few months later, my wife also opened her eyes and posted her story here
it should be mandatory for s.c.justices,judges and attorneys to take a four year course.
on the history of religion, bible and the koran.iam sure they would conclude that religion.
has little value in society.there would be no such thing as religious accommodation(lawsuits).
Forcing anyone to do or not do something will accomplish nothing but make the enforcer fall within the same tyrannical structure that the world's organized religions display.
Communist/leftist countries have tried, for almost a century now, to eliminate religion from it's lands. Although they have succeeded to certain extents in doing so, I doubt you would hardly find those places to be the utopias of the planet. Reason being is that ultimately, we must respect human conscience.
For whatever reason one might believe, whether through evolutionary process or because there is indeed a God that created us that way, we humans have displayed an innate necessity for spirituality, a need to connect to a greater good, usually done through worship of our believed deity. We cannot eliminate this through mandate. History has proven it.
Patience and love is key, not Tyranny.
i wanted to write my experience on how my husband helped me see the ttatt (the truth about the truth).
first, let me mention that he wrote his own experience a couple months ago under the name sanchy.
for his story please click hereā¦.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5148261828526080/walking-thin-line-resigning-elder
I'm so proud of you Love. Thank you for always going about it with an open mind, always listening to me and expressing your point of view respectfully as well. I know you struggled greatly with the thought of having to live and raise your children with an "unbelieving spouse". I know that must have been a terrifying thought.
Now we shall slowly work our way out. It seems many more like us will inevitably result as the years go by, so we will need to be there for them, to help in their journey as well.
I love you.
warning of a long boring post ahead.
i feel like i need to vent my story out, as i feel quite helpless at the moment.. i'm 31 year old, married, father of toddler with another one on the way, due later this month.
i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.
Indeed as Zappa mentioned above,
I'm proud to announce that my wife has seen the light, only a few months after me.
Words cannot describe the great relief I feel from knowing that my wife and kids will avoid the particular struggles of belonging to such an organization. There's still a long journey ahead as we fade, especially since all the rest of our family is in, (not to mention the emotional healing we will need) but now, at least, I'm not alone. I trust we can accomplish it together.
I want to thank you all for the words of encouragement as well as for your tips. They were very incredibly valuable in helping me deal "gently" with her.
She has gone ahead and posted an introduction thread, in which she explains what helped and didn't help in her journey; perhaps some of you still dealing with a spouse might benefit from reading it. You'll find the thread here: LINK CLICK HERE
ok wow.
i am really really pissed.
i had to really hold back and bite my tongue.
It is protocol that elders should visit disfellowshipped and inactive ones during memorial season to invite them every year. Sometimes they'll try contacting you beforehand; however, if they think you'll give them a "I can't now" when they ask if they can stop by, they might try being sneaky and drop by unannounced,
Bottom line: You must remember their indoctrination. They think you will die in Armageddon, and thus are justified in any action to try to rescue you from it. It is their duty as elders to do so, or at least that's what they believe.
Sanchy, what countries with more socialism are 'not doing so well'?Not all, but many are facing some downward spirals on economic indicators, including (off the top of my head): Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina (many other in S.America), European nations including big ones like Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, and anemic growth or less in most others in the EU.
The recent economic situation was a worldwide event due to the Bank collapse of 2008, not bureaucracy in general. While in part much of the economic situation is the lingering effects of 2008, not all of it is. There are real systemic issues within most of the countries, a lot of it from bloated social programs creating the necessity for ever higher taxation.
he actually has financed his own campaign instead of whoring himself out to the corporates and global elitists who want to crush the poor. Sanders is a much better choice for president.
Can you truly say that Bernie has "financed his own campaign"? He has millions and millions of dollars worth of donations and contributions, mostly from Unions and other Orgs that might benefit from his presidency. Also, if avoiding candidates with corporate donations is something good, then the same can be said for Trump, as he is actually much closer to really be "financing his own campaign" then is Bernie.

I do agree that we need some level of social programs, primarily as a safety net. However, as history has proven, we must be really careful with an ever expanding gov promising everything for us. As the quote goes: "a government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take everything you have".
Apart from that, my point still stands: there is no system, in the history of humankind, to lift more ppl out of poverty, create more wealth and foster more innovation than has capitalism. I don't understand the apparent mainstream logic today that is painting it to be the cause of holding ppl back, of why there is so much poverty and of it being the root of all the troubles in the world. It's just nonsense..
It's about obtaining services that we should be getting FOR THE MONEY WE ALREADY PUT IN!
This is the problem I have with Bernie and more socialism in general. We will NEVER get all the services we "should" be getting for the money we put in when it comes to gov providing such services. Gov has proven time and time again that it is really REALLY inefficient at spending its citizen's money. There's just too much Bureaucracy. This is why our social programs are bloated and will collapse sooner or later, as well as why most other countries practicing a stronger form of socialism are not doing so well.
So it's really hard to convince me that I should pay more into such system, in hopes that finally gov will provide the services it "should" provide.
Alternatively, show me an economic system that has created more wealth, brought up more ppl out of poverty, and stimulated more innovation than has capitalism.
