Who is Gog of Magog? - Watchtower May 2015

here we go again... let's study... news report... comment.... who is gog of magog mentioned in the book of ezekiel?.

for a number of years, our publications have explained that gog of magog is the name given to satan the devil after his ouster from heaven.

this explanation was based on the fact that the book of revelation identifies satan the devil as the leader of the worldwide attack on gods people.

First off, I am not really sure where in the bible it says that modern day Jehovah witnesses are actually the Jews or Israel of the Old Testament. The concept of what is Israel and what is the church in the new testament is just a concept that is lost to the average dub.

I am not really sure how a coalition of nations is to is suppose just corner a very small portion of some 235 countries.

The more I read the whole Mog and Magog thing it is more likely the modern day of Israel being cornered by their muslin neighbours with Russian help.

Although I do find this kind of stuff very interesting, It is very important that if you take an interest in the bible that your entire ministry or source of study isn’t just Revelations, Daniel and Ezekiel. In the end it doesn’t matter what you believe or if you believe you have some secret bible knowledge if you are just a moral bankrupt fraud shunning your family.

Why come every time someone leaves the WTS they become some Michael Moore, Richard Dawkins quoting pussy liberal.

I think Judaeo Christian values make us better.

The United States isn’t the moral equal of Somalia.

I don’t think what happened in the middle ages matters anymore.

I find it highly unlikely that a catholic priest with proper seminary training would find the Jehovah Witnesses very convincing with their copy and paste propaganda sessions. Actually I think most people with even a basic understanding of the scriptures can show the average Witness that their theology has more holes in it than a block of swiss cheese.

I think Witness have more doubts about their faith talking to a real Christian than vise versa.

p.s- Please save the atheist/agnostic comments, Richard Dawkins, Pagan Christ, sun god crap. I find you just as annoying as the most uber witnesses.

Did you ever here that story about the Saudi cleric who issued that fatwa saying that Snowmen are Islamic ? Well, JW leaders think skinny jeans are a conspiracy to make everyone gay. This is the level of stupidity you are dealing with.

JW are literally the ISIS of Christianity. Of course without the violence, well physical violence. They are really good at mental violence. Just because you are conservative in your values, doesn’t mean they think any more of you.

I wouldn’t take it personally.

JWs are pompous assholes who believe everyone but themselves are terrible unclean people. I hate the hypocrisy of knocking on peoples doors trying to save them while saying just horrible stuff about them behind their backs.

Propaganda vs Bible study

is it just me or is the wts increasingly just becoming more about watchtower propaganda.

every week it seems to be about killing your children over blood transfusions or worshipping the magical men in brooklyn or the loving provision of shunning or the magical power of the elders or some brother in far off land who is in jail because he cant stop handling out magazines he doesnt understand to people who dont want them.

try and get a jw to explain the gospels or the book of the romans and what was significant about the book of acts...........................no clue.

Blood transfusions and dying for god
The dangers of marrying and UBM.
The dangers of higher education
Brothers and Sisters in jail.
The magical power of the Slave in Brooklyn
Make sure you kiss the elders asses because they have special powers.
That ridiculous and dishonest 1914 calculation.
Be good cause we are all working our way into God kingdom.
Bad mouthing other Christian dominations
Book of revelations, and how all the dogma is tied together. 1 plus 1 = 5, and cat really means dog expect every third thurday blah blah blah.

So pretty much any given Sunday, that is all its about now. Of course hating on gays and how Jehovah killed people in the old testament so you can be assured all the worldly people are going to get it at the big A.

Mind you I don’t actually attend anymore. I just have to listen to those JW.org recording my wife plays before she goes to her meetings. I have never once ever seen her read the bible.

Do you believe the Watchtower will soon just get rid of the bible ?

i am not going to claim to be any kind of bible expert or a good writer or anything like that but do you ever notice how the wts has completely whitewashed this idea or anything relating to this..

from the beginning of the bible in the beginning god said let us make man in our own image , to the term elohim which literally means gods , to the angel of the lord in the old testament which is identified to being with god and god himself.

it is just kind of interesting when you read the book of john in the new testament and you start to read things like the word was with god and the word was god or no one has seen the father only the son it kind of makes sense without really fully understanding it.

What did Paul mean by using these quotes ?

Now a well-trained JW would be over a statement like that how can you faith in something you don’t fully understand? I am not really sure I do but I tend to prefer to look at the intent of the authors and I do believe there was a belief in the plurality of god.

Please save the atheist/agnostic comments about the bible. You people are more annoying than uber dubs. Yeah we get it, we know how you feel.

Campaign to Israel

i have been wanting to introduce myself but i don't know where to begin.

my husband and i are enjoying our third guilt-free weekend of our lives (both born-in, almost 30).

he has been out mentally for the last year and a half but patiently waited for me to come around.

So the WTS basically want everyone to go to Israel go door to door and say

I find no matter how complex WTS theology is, you can always seem to pin it down to one or two sentences that have no bibical basis what so ever.

1. There is no such thing as " Spiritual Israel ".

2. No where does it say the member in the new covenant is limited.

The Old testament is the story of god and the jews and a series of convenants which made them gods people. Long story short the new testament is the story of the transfer of this convenant to the "church " the body of christ. Gods final arrangement with mankind to have a relationship with him though Jesus Christ. Believe it or not, that is the story of christianity
