  WT is trying to scare off memorial partakers

  i don't know how many of you still participate in the sunday wt study, but i unfortunately still do.

  even though i was asleep half of the time, i did notice something i thought i should share with the rest, in case you haven't noticed.

  a lot of the paragraphs were worded strongly against partaking and used clear language of intimidation and discouragement toward anyone thinking of partaking.

  I remember growing up in a regular old protestant church my mother warned me about not taking part in communion if you don’t consider yourself a Christian or don’t have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We are not Catholics; we don’t just go through the motions.

  To me the JW memorial seems more like they are affirming they are not Christians. Sometimes I wonder if I were to throw holy water on the elders if it would burn. They would start talking in weird guttural voices and their heads would start spinning 360 degrees.

  Last memorial my wife dragged me to, the speaker started to talk about how the bible CLEARLY says there is an earthly hope and heavenly hope and anyone who doesn’t believe it is mocking god himself.

  I wanted to put my hand up and where ??

  Asshole Atheism – Not for me, now or ever.

  to start off with let me clarify that by asshole atheism i am not referring to strong atheism or any other type of upfront atheism.

  what i am referring to is the belligerent, hateful atheism that smacks of trolls and other types who want to derail conversation or comments at any cost..

  i enjoy hearing comments from both sides of the subjects of theism, nationalism or politics, especially from those who have intense opinions.

  I bet writing anti-christian literature pays better producing research papers.

  Judging from friends and family, people who claim to have interest in Science , never really seem to have much of an interest in science outside of finding reasons to argue with religious people. It seems to more of a liberal arts thing, disguising itself in the guise of higher learning.

  I have a few doctors and engineers in the family and they could care less about the origins of the species. It always seems to be the political science major that figures they have all the mysteries of the planet figured out.

  Just my personal experience.

  There is a case right now in Indiana about a boy walking up a wall and ceiling. At first they thought it was just some strung out crack mother and the kids were just performing for her but it was later witnessed a nurse and social worker.

  The story was later picked up by BBC world , Fox news, ABC. There seems to be a certain level of credibility to it.

  Who knows.

  Maybe I didn't make myself clear but someone like Richard Dawkins writing anti-Christian books and going on public speaking tours debating christian apologetics isn't real science. I wish people would realize their is an entire industry taking your money to give you a smug sense of morality superiority. It the same reason JWs manage to suck people into their cause.

  Real science is being a doctor, curing diseases, being an engineer, working on the electric car etc etc.

  It just bugs me how everyone with a library card and a facebook page posting anti-Christian memes figures they are an evolutionary biologist now.

  Are the USA and Russia the key actors in end time prophecy?

  what's the problem with prophecy?prophecy primarily requires a pattern recognition or insightful strategy not an analytical strategy.

  prophecy rarely gives names whether of empires or their rulers.

  even the name of the messiah - yeshua -wasn't foretold.

  With the new understanding of Mog and Magog, It is funny how Jehovah Witness theology is now falling more in line with American evangelical with the big difference being they believe they somehow replace Israel with themselves.

  I am not really sure how a vast army of nations from central Asia, the middle east and northern Africa are going to attack all the Jehovah witnesses. I really think Israel really might mean the modern day state of Israel.

  Who knows. Every pastor I have talked to about this kind of stuff says it is fine to have in interest in this kind of stuff but there is a danger when your ministry just becomes all about the end times. It is better to focus more on your own life and not being a dickhead. No one really knows.

  I saw a talk one time by Richard Dawkins about the order of the universe and the precise fine tuning it takes to produce life on this planet and how that might lead to believe in god or intelligent design but since we don’t believe in god…………………….given enough time and space and possibilities from the big bang there must be millions if not billions of solar systems with life like ours or even superior to us, we just haven’t found them. There is nothing remarkable about us.

  I then realized I just wasted 30 minutes of my life. There wasn’t a lick of concrete evidence to support of it. It was complete rubbish.

  I just wish people would realize there is an entire industry pretending to be promoting the cause “ Science “ which is just anti-christian rubbish. They are just selling books and taking your money so you can feel you have a smug sense of moral superiority . If anyone I thought could see though this bullshit if should be ex-witnesses.

  Real science has nothing to do with religion.

  Does anyone here have an interest in the paranormal, demonology , ghosts or general weird stuff. I know this is totally against what Christianity teaches but I kind of gives me hope of something beyond the grave.

  it was like a pointillist painting:.

  little dots, daubs, color splotches which only form a picture if viewed at a distance.. if you stand close, you see only the dots.

  Christianity is a nutshell without God, Jesus and the bible is a belief that man is an immortal creature different than the animals and is held accountable for his actions for all entirety . Plus we are suppose to make the world a better place.

  Myth or not, Christianity and democracy are the two greater factors in the development of western civilization.

  when it comes to a simple matter of no longer believing the teachings of jw's, it appears to me that it's more common for the husband to make the first move to leave the religion.

  I don’t know which one leaves first but I have noticed it is much easier for a women to leave, especially if you are a convert or a second generation convert. No one cares about you if you don’t come from a prominent JW family. No public talks, no MS , no eldership. There was a lady in my cong that even skipped the memorial and no one cared.

  I think men usually wake you first because they are more exposed to the uginess of it. Too most women it is just a social club.

  hello, i asked a new but old friend how many people are still christians after leaving the watchtower's mind control agency, for statistical purposes do you mind if i do a survey and see how many of you are believers?.

  please don't post if your not a believer out of respect for this poll, we need to sharpen each other's sword and help build each other up and meet new friends over the internet with faith in god or some other force of the universe.

  i asked another person how we can still manage our faith after getting burned by the high group mind control, he had a few ideas but he's not really involved with god because of how life burned him.

  The greater point is in a relative short period of time or blink of a second in evolutionary terms, wherever it be 6000,10000 or 40000, this creature called the homo sapien has somehow separated himself from the other creatures of the planet with a certain consciousness and cognitive ability that no other creature seems to have.

  The idea that something pointless and random just happened to our brains is just another form of deism.
