Converts

i've noticed there seems to be a higher percentage of born-ins here....who are the converted jws?.

does anyone care to share how they got converted?.

I remember there were these two converts in our congregation. Husband and wife. They were about 65 years old. They moved through the ranks verily quick. I think from the first knock on the door till the time they were baptized it was maybe six months.

I was attending with my girlfriend now wife . I was studying with an elder. I later found out he was an umber scary hard ass. Even some of the current in good standing dubs told me he was bad news. After about the third time we studied he marked my wife right in front of me. Fuck that guy.

I talked to these converts about 2 years later, we had actually moved to another city. They told me they didn’t attend anymore and what happened to me was quite eye opening. It kind of got the ball rolling.

I was in a congregation one time of about 80-100 publishers and I think maybe 40% were converts. It was weird. The elder situation was quite strange too. About 2/3 were converts but the real heavies were the five/six generation real asshole types.

It literally reminded me of the Disney movie minions. If there was a JC it was really just one elder against one person , the other two were just filler and yes men.

It would be interesting to go back and see who is still in. I see they get about 40 cars ( I counted ) on an average Sunday but who knows. They recently merged with another congregation.

the trnity to me means the true nature of god essence,attributes each person of the trinity is equal the father the son and the holly spirit all share the devine nature ie three persons of the godhead are all equal in power ,glory and wisdom john 10:30.jesus and his father god are one meaning of the same nature mathew 28.19 jesus said all to be baptised in the name of the father and of the son and the holly ghost reprissenting 3 persons of the godhead to wellcome the devine trinity into your soul .

I think when you look at the figure called the angel of the lord in the old testament who is identified as god and being with god, the plurality of god in the old testament, the claims of Christ himself and how the writers of the use the old testament quotes applying them to both Christ and god, it don’t think the trinity is an unreasonable thing to believe.

Of course if you want to bamboozle people with the fine print, it definitely can be done. Jehovah Witnesses are good at that. Think so far outside the box, you forget how to think within it.

A call from family - Armageddon this month!

i very seldom receive a call from my jw siblings, i mean seldom.

i can count them on my hand in past 10 years.

while we talk about mom a lot and i am in touch with her, i was very surprised when i received this call.

I find it odd how the WTS can claim to be a channel to god and give you a chronology of how the end times are going to play out while scaring the crap out of members at the same time with no evidence of what they are claiming coming true.

I don’t see the U.N making all religion illegal.

I don’t see a group of nations roughly from Central Asia to North Africa united in its destruction of the WTS.

If what you say is going to happen isn’t coming true, why does anyone care?

The idea of Russian involvement in the middle east ( Mog and Magog )and Armageddon is a total evangelical made in America idea and totally doesn’t fit with any of the WTS so called bible based chronology. It seems odd they witnesses would pay any attention to it.

Make you tell them this and if you feel so strongly about it maybe it is time to leave the WTS. Flee Flee false religion.

If JWs Were More Tolerant Would It Help Their Money Woes?

they don't want you bettering yourself.

they hate college education.they applaud you if you quit full time secular work and instead, "pioneer".

they cry that they have money problems.

I think telling people to skip college and encouraging people to become dishwashers and rug cleaners may finally be catching up WTS. You can’t survive on min. wage and really what is the average income of a JW.

Plus, who the hell wants to donate to some global pedophile defence fund. Awake or not, I think more people are aware of what is going on and just taking a stand with their check book.

Did you like hymns as a jw?

i was just explaining to mrs picard........ never a jw, and not english, how we used to celebrate the harvest festival, when i was 7 and younger, before my parents converted to jw'ism.. i loved to sing "we plough the fields and scatter".

of course, singing such hymns is, to a jw, paramount to apostasy,with the death penalty like punishment the ensued.. how really stupid their harsh rules.. did you have any favourite hymns?.

i think we would all agree, that they beat the pants off the "kingdom melodies".

they look to be mostly elders.

Plurality of god in the old testament

He just turned his back and walked away. Didn’t even say good bye. ( Not that I want to get into a discussion about the trinity)

I know this guy was quite aggressive but I think it proves having a serious discussion or exchange of ideas about the bible or bible theology is quite impossible.

I am still trying to figure out wherein the bible it says the resurrection will be a selective process .

I have always found it quite disturbing the average JW thinks an SS guard gassing children in the death camps will get a second chance on paradise earth because he is dead……………..yet the average person who says thanks not interested to a JW at the door with face the ultimate punishment at the big A .
