by Slavenomore inleaving the org was not a doctrinal choice for me as it was for many on this board.
i left mentally because of the boredom and then i physically left by being dfd.
i have been reading here for about a month or so and now i know i made the right decision.

BOE Letter: Rules to deal with rules
by pixel inas everybody jere knows, there is no requirement for a christian to "count and report" their time.
that's totally made-up by the wt/fds/gb, so, they have to make rules to deal with their own rules.... .
re: showing consideration for those involved in theocratic projects .

Ex-hubby was working his ass off to be recommended as an elder when he volunteered to be a temporary worker at Watchtower Farm (when they were begging for help). He was at the Farm for 2 weeks and came home with pneumonia, which knocked him on his butt for two weeks. That month he had a very low FS report, and the elders told him they couldn't recommend him because of his low FS hours that month. I was incensed. The man had left his home and business for 2 weeks to volunteer at the ranch branch and they treated him like he was slacking. Augh!

First mention of "new light" may appear in July 15, 2013 Watchtower
by cedars ina trusted source informs me that the "new light" about the faithful slave is to make its first printed appearance in the july 15th watchtower, which should be available for download online three weeks from now, on around april 15th.. i'm led to believe that the references to the new understanding are made in such a manner as to suggest the "new light" isn't that new at all, which suggests to me that little or no effort is being made to explain the doctrinal connotations.
my source and i are hoping to get a key paragraph posted at the earliest opportunity.
watch this space!.

cantleave - LOL!
I remember always hating new light because the study article about it would go into painful detail about the old understanding and how they came to this new conclusion. Now they're just slipping it by the R&F in a craftily crafted paragraph.

My BFF was disfellowshipped, and I had to shun her. It was truly the worst feeling ever. I was already disillusioned but not ready to make the break from the cult. About a year later I contacted her (knowing I was being very, very naughty but not giving a crap) and we started getting together every week for a natter session. We both ranted and raved about "men in suits" (elders) and the child sexual abuse nightmare.
A couple of months later I found myself in an untenable marital situation (long story) and needed to leave in a hurry. Thank goodness for my ex-JW BFF. She took me in and helped me get back on my feet. It's a wonderful thing to have an ex-JW BFF. Enjoy!
