Saying hello again
by EdenOne injust saying i’m still alive and greeting everyone, veterans and newcomers to this forum.. 2018 was a year with a lot of turmoil in my life; me and my wife separated, then reunited months later, and spent the second half of the year healing the emotional wounds from that episode.
that, along with a record year in terms of my business meant that choices had to be made regarding my time, and i decided to focus on my marriage instead of other endeavours.
it seemed to have paid off.

Is is true one of the new residence buildings at Warwick was never used and lays empty?
by nowwhat? inif true what a waste of dedicated funds that could have been used to build 1000's of k.h's in africa.
-
Solzhenitsyn
Yes.
There is about 30% unused square footage collectively across all LIVWRK areas @ Warwick. To be able to 'breathe' as various projects come and go. There are only about 750 permanent persons physically residing at Warwick.
This isn't uncommon and similar planning efforts were in place in Brooklyn. Remember there was a time at a peak when 6000+ Bethelites resided in Brooklyn alone. They are champs at space planning.

#1 Inform the police.
#2 Brumley and his legal department team is at Patterson as of the moment. Call the main switchboard and ask for legal. Or for fun call the main switchboard 8453061000 and ask to be transferred to #46601 and leave a message on his personal v/m. You might even start your message with "Hello, before I call ABC and NBC news I wanted to reach out to you directly......"
Best!

Emotional Moment...
by babygirl30 inyesterday i was looking to share a pic with a friend of mine, and i swore it was in my photo albums (i have 3).
so i start going through them, and i see so many jw pics!
i had a huge group of friends when i was 'in', and so there is just pic after pic of assemblies, dinners, game nights, rbc projects, my family and the house i grew up in, people from the hall, etc.

Its similar, those that get free from a drug addiction have emotional moments too.
They are in for years, they go through the process of getting off, and many after getting off will hit a wall(s). Remembering the feelings, the way of life. Some will say..."I worked so hard to get free of this, to turn my life around, for what! This!?", or at a minimum momentary feelings of being "lost"...ect.
High control groups/ cults are the drug dealer. They have to keep upping the ante to keep those addicted on board with
More paranoia:
More fear-mongering:
Thanks for sharing and I totally relate to your OP. A totally normal response to the only 'normal' we knew.

KOREA : Conscientious objectors discuss their opinions after the Supreme Court's Nov. 1st ruling
by Not_Culty inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nss-ew9o2i8.

Solzhenitsyn
As a PIMI I thought, er...was lead to believe:
>only JW's were imprisoned in S Korea for being a conscientious objector
>only JW's attorneys were legally defending South Korean conscientious objectors
>the recent legal changes in South Korea regarding conscientious objectors was only a victory for JW's
I guess there was enough JW prayer leftovers that Jehovah decided to let all the non-JW's out of jail too?

I gotta have a perfect K-Cup machine replacement
by FatFreek 2005 inyes, my keurig bit the dust after 14 years.
i want one just like it but that models not available.
it was only capable of a single cup, from 8 ounces to 12 ounces.
-
Solzhenitsyn
Our original Keurig died after about 2 years and our current one has worked perfectly every time for the last few years: https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/cuisinart-ss10-premium-single-serve-coffee-maker/
But hands down, French Press or Pour Over style makes a terrific cup.

I have question about Harry Peloyan
by yoko N ini learned from loyd evans video that because of his higher education (harvard graduate).
and talented carrier in wall street journal, harry peloyan was very quick to be invited to world hq.. according to his life story (w may 1 ,2006) , he was invited to whq in 1957.. i wonder when was he baptized?.
is it true that people who have higher education be used by the org more quickly than people who don’t?.
-
Solzhenitsyn
Absolutely!
I can't remember how many letters, both to the BOE for internal reference and read to the congregation, requesting those with advanced trades consider serving WT either at bethel or as a remote worker.
Many letters of recommendation I wrote over the years glorifying the abilities of engineers, estimators, trained medical personnel, and a paralegal who went to Bethel.
When speaking with a few Bethel overseers, most recently ones dealing with the Warwick project, I was specifically told degreed personnel are given preference.

Xmas, love it or leave it??
by DATA-DOG ini have to say that i’m not enjoying the xmas season.
i have no emotional ties and i’m spending money that i have not set aside for xmas during a slow work season for my trade.. i’m not happy about it, because it’s foolish to spend money when you aren’t making any.
then i feel like i’m expected to do all this, and to be happy about spending money and time on persons that i’m not that involved with.
-
Solzhenitsyn
We're in the same boat.
We've been out for a relatively short time after having been in for a lifetime.
DATA-DOG used the word "triggering". Several in my family are triggered by all the non-JW stuff, esp this Christmas.
At times I wonder if the desire to buy gifts or string some white lights is just our minds way of giving the middle finger to JW life because the idea of sinking our funds into the commercialized holiday cycles.
Right now we've agreed to love the holidays for time off work/school, to regroup and relax (or try to anyway).
Its like the bus just let me and the family off in the middle of Yellowstone. Its beautiful but where in the #$%^$# are we?

Hey NeatBlueDog....OMG "and we leave this in you care and keeping..."
My wife and I, if we were holding hands and the brother included that in his closing prayer, she would squeeze my hand so hard in disgust and pretty much invalidate the entire prayer, then we would both leave off the amen. Barf.
Of course our actions went contrary to the 03/2019 study WT P.31:
