30 years after leaving utterly unrecognisable
by Number 6 inthis is the first time i have posted on here in many years..... i seldom visit now although this forum was instrumental to me in gaining my sanity in the early 2000's and recovering from the watchtower religion.. by chance tonight i was on youtube and caught a jw.org video which out of curiosity prompted me to look at the official website and amongst other things i looked up the music section.. why that i hear you ask?
music is my passion and nothing reminds me more or evokes more memories than the kingdom songs i grew up listening to.. i am 49 years old and my mother was baptised in 1974. i grew up in the era of pink songbooks and green bibles.
of the theology of fred franz and types and anti-types.

Satan Hurled Out in 1914 - Will They Say It Was Never Taught?
by Anna Marina inwbts rewrites/carefully edits their own history.
since 2005, i have been through a lot with with wbts.
recently i came across a suggestions that they will start denying that they ever said satan was hurled out of heaven in 1914.. in my experience, it is one doctrine many ordinary members are clear about - you ask them what supposedly took place in 1914 and they'll say, "satan was hurled out of heaven, therefore world war i started.".

This hurling out of heaven happened shortly after the enthronment of Christ as King, according to the watchtower, e.g. w 1995 July 15th page 5
Satan’s influence on earth is temporary. Jehovah will not tolerate satanic rule much longer! Soon the Devil will be put out of action. A new ruler will take control of the earth, a righteous king chosen by God himself. That King is Jesus Christ. Concerning his enthronement in heaven, Revelation says: “The kingdom of the world did become the kingdom of our Lord [Jehovah] and of his Christ.” Revelation 11:15 Bible chronology, together with the fulfillment of Scriptural prophecy, proves that this event took place in the year 1914.— Matthew 24:3,6,7.
The Bible also describes what happened shortly after Jesus’ enthronement. It says: “War broke out in heaven: Michael [Jesus Christ] and his angels battled with the dragon [Satan the Devil], and the dragon and its angels battled but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.”
What would be the result of Satan’s expulsion from heaven? Those in heaven could rejoice, but what about the earth’s inhabitants? “Woe for the earth and for the sea,” says Revelation 12:12, “because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.” Indeed, the casting of Satan out of heaven has brought woe to the earth. The Columbia History of the World states: “The great catastrophe of the Four Years’ War of 1914–1918 . . . showed the Western world that it could not protect civilization from its own stupidity or evil impulse. The spirit of the West has never really recovered from that shattering.”
The woes of this generation are marked by far more than a shattered spirit. Jesus prophesied: “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.” He also foretold pestilences. (Matthew 24:7, 8; Luke 21:11) Moreover, the Bible says that in “the last days” of Satan’s system of things, many would be “lovers of themselves, lovers of money, . . . disobedient to parents, . . . not open to any agreement.” People would also be “lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.”—2 Timothy 3:1-5.
Wars, pestilences, food shortages, earthquakes, and a change for the worse in moral values—all such things have taken place on an unprecedented scale since 1914, just as the Bible foretold. They indicate that the enraged enemy of God and man—Satan the Devil—has been cast out of heaven and now must confine his wrath to the domain of the earth. But the Bible also shows that Satan will not be allowed to operate much longer. He has only “a short period of time” remaining until Armageddon, when God destroys the world system that Satan controls.
What will then happen to Satan? The apostle John wrote: “I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. And he hurled him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him.” (Revelation 20:1-3) What relief for suffering mankind! -

irrefutable proof of the great apostasy that corrupted the catholic church
by TTWSYF inwhen the emperor constantine legalized christianity in the roman empire around 311ad he allowed or introduced a flood of half converted pagans and allowed the corruption that sullied the true faith and ruined christianity until a time when it could be restored to the true and pure faith that it was intended to become.
many people here know that to be a fact.
it's a common sense theory, right?.

TheWonderofYou
Thats true, but dont forget the two witnesses we have for the great apostasy:
1. The ugly baby called Christendom, who was born about 100 CE, shortly after John died, who grew up in an atmosphere of falling back to paganism, amusing oneself, wargames, greek philospohy, and a divine sage of a God that had 3 heads and who didnt want to be called Jehovah.
2.The missing link: there were no christians with the right attitude anymore, no anointed blessed with enough holy spirit to take the faithful lead, after 100 CE. cause there were only name christians, professing christians, charlatans after 100 CE.. who missed the right attitude how Splane explained.
Until Constantine the baby was old enough to fully apostate and to destroy any evidence of true worship that ever existed. In consequence all original bibles of the anointed were burned by politicians that harloted with priests. So the way was open for thousands of years of apostasy until 1919 the apostasy was stopped by a group of guys who liked alcohol much and discovered the original texts and customs

Watchtower appeals in Montana.
by lastmanstanding ini won’t steal barb’s thunder, but has anyone had a chance to peruse the appeal that watchtower launched yesterday?.
watchtower’s main argument is that stuff was said in confidence with confidentiality surrounding that confidence and they are confident that clergy confidentiality which is in confidence is confidential.. in short, it ‘was a secret and should stay a secret.’.
omg.. and watchtower claims that this verdict “violates the constitution of the usa”.. i wish the jury could tack on another $50m and include watchtower lawyers are to be hanged.. i just had to say something.

Could be the next pseudo-argument. (occurs when those disagreeing are fanatically committed to their positions and refuse to consider other viewpoints .)

Streetservice report from today morining, Elder said: "The list is another sign for the end, This makes it harder to preach for us, we will have to keep everything in mind". Me: Of course it will be hard to work in a territory. However I cannot image that Jesus and the Apostels would go from house to house and make notes after their visits like businessmen." ...Then it would more likely that the nuclear power that could destroy the whole planet and the deathrate from snakebites and the wild beast's activity would be a sign, what he also mentioned. The most time we spoke however about arguments how the church is worse in handling abuse and falsehood than JW, both two big organisations, if anything false happens in a big organisation now this would of course be also a sign of the end.

Beautiful New "Kingdom Hall"
by Sea Breeze inthese images were posted on one of my fb news feeds.
they are legit.
looks like an upscale commercial bldg.

TheWonderofYou
Who would ever guess that such halls would be ensnarled in idolatry or worship? Nobody would idolize such a hall. Only see it as commercial building, for commerce seems more anyhow more appropriate for them this is their strenght. They woild never leave out a chance for profit. Therefore simplicity and commercial style is good enough for these snakes. Jw abhore idolization as much as they fear abuse victims. The center of idolization and emotional abuse is however not a building but Jw.org. Dont click it, not get ensnarled!

Hidden history of the Watchtower religion
by TerryWalstrom inthe deeper you dig--the less impressive jw’s become!___________________you may think you know the men who are vitally important to the birth of the religion--but chances are good you’ve been kept in the dark.. _____________.
did you know?the 1st case heard by the supreme court of the united states concerning the watchtower society involved a director (an officer) of the watchtower, william franklyn hudgings.. a brief description of hudgings and his character.hudgings was an attorney, quack doctor, self-identified ‘scientist’, a pro-zionist, and religious enthusiast who over the years held various director and officer positions in the watchtower society, and the affiliated people's pulpit association and international bible students association.
at the time of this particular case, william hudgings acknowledged being the corporate secretary of the people's pulpit association and acknowledged that his daily duties included the administrative charge of printing of the watchtower magazine, the bible student's monthly, the kingdom news, and other watchtower publications.. (hudgings was also re-elected to the watchtower society board of directors in january 1919.

Dr. H.A. Ironside, short H.A.I.
Terry wrote: Ever hear of the famous 20th century Evangelist, H. A Ironside?
This preacher had been using a peculiar phrase to identify his followers.
He used the term “Jehovah’s witnesses.”
Ever hear of that phrase as occurring BEFORE 1931?
Judge Rutherford didn't even have sufficient imagination to capitalize the "w" in "witnesses".
No--instead even *borrowing* the use of the lowercase "w" in "witnesses", just as H. A. Ironside had already been using in his multiple Biblical commentaries and published sermons that Ironside had authored at least as early as 1909, and as was the "Jehovah's witnesses" notation in Ironside’s personal Bible next to Isaiah 43:10.
This surely was the whisper of “Jehovah’s witness” in Rutherford’s ear!
H.A.I, who had already used the term "Jehovah's witness" in 1911 for Israel, thus long before the Rutherford in 1931 had the inspiration to call the little flock of IBSA or the slave class also "Jehovah's witness".
Why did he, the genius, come up with that new term “Jehovah’s witness” 20 years before Rutherford?
Did God let fall his work into oblivion because he was overhasty and rushed on ahead Jehovahs chariot? Did Rutherford copy his idea 20 years later after reading his work?
First, there is no doubt that he was an outstanding bible scholar although he had no formal education!
Then, Dr. H.A.I. served in the Salvation Army, the Plymouth Brethren and the Moody memorial church with 7000 sermons and hundreds of books as well as bible commentaries. He promoted dispensionationalism in America.
And further, despite his lack of formal education, his tremendous mental capacity, photographic memory and zeal for his beliefs caused him to be called, "the Archbishop of Fundamentalism”.
So it was his special method in bible reading, his creativity that lead to call Israel Jehovahs witness?
Perhaps. Think only of the fact that besides his devotion and homiletical methods it was kind of marking the bible with sayings, ephitaphs, poems, diagrams, and even chinese characters, which he studied for recreation. So he marked here and there the great themes of the Bible, and so his comments written by him in margins and scattered over 1500 pages are the richest treasure to study.
Here some more of the honours given to him:
"He was probably the most famous exponent of vers-by-vers exposition of our generation. Literally thousands of sheep crowded the great Moody Church week after week for over eighteen years, because better pasture could not be found anywhere else."
This kind of bible study method like the vers-to verse reading seemed to have inspired people like Rutherford.
"H.A.I.'s manner of marking the bible is a fascinating study itself".
"What a giant intellect and spirituality Dr. Ironside was".Another comment reads
"The very dust of whose writings is gold." (In his biographc of the late Dr. H.A. Ironside, Dr. e. Schuyler English mentions that Richards Bentley's the above description of Bishop Pearson can well be applied to Dr. Ironside)
A.I's commentaries on the Bible - 32 volumes
Russel another genius did not come up with the name JW in 1911 but it was Dr. Irsonside
And again 20 years another genius – Rutherford- he called JW a new people.
“Author Chandler W. Sterling refers to this as “the greatest stroke of genius” on the part of J. F. Rutherford, then president of the Watch Tower Society. As that writer viewed the matter, this was a clever move that not only provided an official name for the group but also made it easy for them to interpret all the Biblical references to “witness” and “witnessing” as applying specifically to Jehovah’s Witnesses. In contrast, A. H. Macmillan, an administrative associate of three presidents of the Watch Tower Society, said concerning that announcement by Brother Rutherford: “There is no doubt in my mind—not then nor now—that the Lord guided him in that, and that is the name Jehovah wants us to bear, and we’re very happy and very glad to have it.” Which viewpoint do the facts support? Was the name ‘a stroke of genius’ on the part of Brother Rutherford, or was it the result of divine providence?” (1931)
1911: Ironside: In his "Lectures on Daniel the Prophet" he referred to the Jews to whom the promises of Isa.43 would be fulfilled as “Jehovah’s witnesses”. Quote
"These shall be Jehovah’s witnesses, testifying to the power and glory of the one true God, when apostate Christendom shall have been given up to the strong delusion to believe the lie of the Antichrist.” Page 152http://jwawake.com/tag/rutherford/
How many of those GENII Jehovah uses and was not Russel a genius too, why did he not use Charles Taze Russel the genius to call his people JW but Irsonside when they lived anyway in the same time period? Why did Jehovah allow people to go to Irsonside and that "better pasture could not be found anywhere else" including the first usage ot the term JW although Russel had also written much creative stuff?

your name is ussher – james ussher – and you are the archbishop of all of ireland.. you are living in the 1600s and are obsessive-compulsive when it comes to speculative ideas.
you are convinced that you alone have the intellect to figure exact dates of all the major events in the bible actually.
