In fact, scores of them are physicians, even surgeons
It seems that more and more J.W. were seeking worldly careers and caught hold of their dream job - being physician. After that they played a role in promotion of what now is the bloodmanagement project. If you start scraching on the surface you will certainly find more. Note: that is in strict opposition to GB Lösch order not to seek wordly careers, a resounding slap for him, that the most clever J.W.s become physicians and achieve to be payed by pharmaceutical companies but all clear their job decision is as well a matter of conscience.

by TheWonderofYou inhttp://www.glowm.com/pdf/pph_2nd_edn_chap-72.pdf.
ta more recent (2009) study from the netherlands16 concluded that: ‘women who are jehovah’s witnesses are at a six times increased risk for maternal death, at a 130 times increased risk for maternal death because of major obstetric hemorrhage and at a 3.1 times increased risk for serious maternal morbidity because of obstetric hemorrhage, compared to the general dutch population.’.

JW women are between the fronts. IIts to consider they are heavily influenced by J W family and obidience not only to personal conscience but very much to obidience to the WatchtowerSociety-HLC.
You may also wish to contact the hospital liaison committees established by the Watch Tower Society (the governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses) to support Jehovah’s Witnesses faced with treatment decisions involving blood. These committees can advise on current Society policy regarding the acceptability or otherwise of particular blood products. They also keep details of hospitals and doctors who are experienced in ‘bloodless’ medical procedures.
In the final analysis, the decision to abstain from blood transfusion is a personal one and not, as commonly portrayed, a dictate from the world headquarters in the USA.
The depth of belief of each individual Witness is well summarized in the booklet Management of Anaesthesia for Jehovah’s Witnesses, published by the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland: ‘Administration of blood to a competent patient, against their will and in conflict with their genuinely held beliefs, has been likened by the Witnesses to rape. It will not result in expulsion from the community if it was carried out against the expressed wishes of the patient but may have as deep a psychological effect as forceful sexual interference’8
In which cases the Hospital Liason Committee of the Watchtower is dictated or ordered to act and to intervene at the patients bed? Only in cases where the hospital calls it? And how does it than guarantee that it would not DICTATE - not in the least - the womans personal decision?
Of course the World headquarter as far away as in the USA is not directly contacted via the red telephone. e.g. "Here Lösch, hello any question about what is personal choice?" how ridiculos, who could ever come up with such a ridiculos assumption?

Is it happening regularly that minor children of J.W. who received transfusion after judicial order are given up for adoption? And what is the reason for that.
It cant be simple fear of transfusions .___
Perhaps of further interest in this context:
2 scientific articles in the Journal of medical ethics published from a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Hospital Liaison Committee, Luton, Bedfordshire. D. Malyon (2008)
Quote: our view of blood, and its association with life, goes to the very core of the human psyche.
So we should look here for answer what are the real reasons for prohibiton of transfusion,
Quote: Do six million Jehovah's Witnesses mean what they say? and
quote: What makes J. W. tick?

The biggest hypocrat I v been aware of was me. E.g. once I donated half of my monthly salary into the donation box - cause of an urgent need to finish the bethel complex that years later has been already purchased - an afterwards I really waited the whole next study with the group that the responsible brother would be aware aware of my sacrifice. What did not happen at all, because I couldnt say that it was me. And if I would tell you the story, am I now a yet bigger hypocrat?
Then I filled up the monthly report with a certain amount of hours that was not done really in the service, but filled with other service like personal bible study, preparation time, driving time, going the way to and back from streetservice, buying food for the snack time an such things to come to the 60 hours. Also I reported that I placed at least 20 % more magazins than in reality to give a good impression. This happened some months until I got a bad concscience and confessed to the elder, what stopped my whole fever in service and lead to many consequences. -

Already most members of the former Governing body figured out that the blood doctrine had flaws, allegedly it was only one missing voice (Jaracz) that decided for retention of the blood prohibition and not making it a matter of conscience.
I dont know in which year this happened. I thas been mentioned in this forum.
And perhaps one reason for the 1979 allowing of Hospital Liasion committees was, that so the victims of the flawed doctrine could be minimized. by the jounger GB-members. This is my assumption. But a matter of conscience it is still not.
But how then was Jaracz progressive as Bro.Splane explained in the broadcast if he was a hardliner and hated by many.?

HLC working on dangerous terrain as life saviors. A comment you have certainly already tripped over by a HLC member.
However, I understand that we are working in a very dangerous field because of so many contradictions in our blood doctrine. Personally I suffer and often work with a deep feeling of guilt, particularly when our brothers need to go through unnecessary pain and death. I can personally testify to about 4 deaths of our brothers, where they could have been saved. How? These brothers and sisters could have been saved if available alternative treatment approved by the Society had been used. But why did they not use it? The doctors could not use the treatments because the Witness patients objected on the grounds that the treatments contained fractions of human blood. These patients were not able to explain why the Society approves these treatments, but after the HLC explained to the brothers, and the doctors, the Society's position - they agreed. Sadly, in these 4 cases I have been through, the patients died because the necessary treatment was used too late.
