A book to destroy is "Go, make disciples baptizing them" This book might have falle from grace because of the baptism formula that was taught to millions of older Jehovahs witnesses prior to 1985, in which everbody was baptized in the name of the Holy spirit. Does not Jehovah owe an apology? No, eternal destruction, even of books is his way of resolving problems it the books are not following the everchanging light.

i was never a jw so rarely post here, maybe to ask a question sometime.

just by an occasional visit it seems most regulars have found the bible untenable not only in its jw redaction.

i get that so please don't view this as an attempt to debate.

For a bible friendly archeologist like Dr Steve Collins and his team the city is the biblical SODOM. So for many evangelical christians like the Calvary church which is supporting such work the matter is solved. However there are problems.

You can listen to his arguments on Youtube: talk by Dr Collins: "As it was in the Days of Sodom and Gomorrah" or read his book.

In a paper "biblical problems in identifying Tall el Hamman as Sodom" are described in this paper by Mr Simon Turpin.

So much is to study to the subject if the bible is untentable, Dr Collins is working his life for this.

If you find it further exciting what in Dr Collins eyes this discovery has to do with the Second Coming than such stuff is a must to watch.

In either case for JW there is no difference because the bible is anyway true they will find an argument.. Only in one point they have jumped around in interpretation wether the people of Sodom will be resurrected or not and wether it was back then a eternal judgment or not.

I dont know yet if the archeologists of the Nature article are elated to Dr Collins tesearch team.

Now I read that he was. OMGoodness. Or is he a lyer only giving JW as background to look somehow more religious?

Was he kicked out and confused? Did he have a sudden knowledge that he is Jesus? In which congregation he served? Some must know him. Where are his parents?

However: He got the best job ever - the highest rank - Jesus - better than a best life ever under the regime of 8 monkeys.

And JW are overloading the postal workers with letters with propaganda in times of crisis. "Gods kingdom will sonn solve all problems after all" and give us more postal workers too. So one could say the postal workers are the real evangelisers of today in the USA, they are distributing JW letters by snail mail though, yet they deserve a better loan from the watchtower and a better fate in general.

in the early 1980s together with my brothers we decided to started collecting watchtower literature and have them neatly in a library at home.

with the help of our father he gave us all the books bought during the years that he had stored in a big wooden box.. after purchasing all the literature that we had missing from the kingdom hall we decided to write letters to the world headquarters of jehovah’s witnesses in brooklyn new york as well to the british and australian branch office.. unfortunately none of our requests bear fruit as they informed us: “it is doubtful whether they are available anywhere in the world….” (ca february 23, 1983); “unable to supply the old publications you request.” (sa: sg september 20, 1983) “we will keep your letter on our files….”(sa: sg january 22, 1983).. during the years we managed to obtain many of these early books going back to 1879 when this religious organization was started.. through barbara anderson we learned that in 30 columbia heights building new york they had a warehouse storage where they kept many old literature which don kommers the assistant of vern wisegarver was responsible for.

through these publications we learned what exactly was written by charles russell and joseph rutherford regarding predictions that never came to be.

If HopSHow many books, magazines, volumes does your library make up? How many shelves or rooms? I imagine that it needs a room for all this. Is the GB disencouraging to collect old literature privately? I knew one sister who posseded Russels books in German? So it was never forbidden to posses old light in private homes but only unwise to read them? Twisted. GB certainly trusts that more and more will throw the old stuff into the garbage. I assume if such a library would be in public, the brothers would lend the books and destroy them or cut out pages so like to protect Jehovahs name.
