Excellent question! Perhaps there has been a mis-communication? I have been removed from the discussion by Recovery, so I will just watch from the side lines while the APOSTABUDDIES ASSEMBLE!!!!

Also, sorry i wrote " appoint " twice. Seriously, RECOVERY... we were taught that everything within the Congregation takes place under the direction of the Holy Spirit. YOU said that Holy Spirit doesn't prevent people from engaging in gross immorality". That is true, but you skirted the issue. The point is that if a person is a child molester or practicing serious sin in secret, WHY would the Holy Spirit move the Elder body to recommend them for appointment? After all every Elder will tell you that every decision they make has the backing of the Holy Spirit, don't believe me, just ask them. The next step as you know is for the C.O to approve it, then it goes to the Branch and is approved. FINALLY, the Elders meet with the Brother and ask 3 very specific questions which I assume you are ignorant of because they are in the Shepherd the Flock of God book, and you would not show disrespect for the channel of truth by reading a book that you are not qualified to read. Here is one of the questions:

Have you ever been involved at anytime in the past with child sexual molestation? Did God and Christ not know the answer to that question before they sent the Holy Spirit to confirm all those decisions? Surely the C.O, a man even more spiritual than the Elders must have had the Holy Spirit backing HIS decision? Then it slips past the Branch Office??!!!

So the Holy Spirit appointed all the child molester that have been or will soon be involved in legal cases involving the Society, because the Holy Spirit was backing every step of the process. This is totally different than scriptural examples of persons committing sins. Would God have chosen David to be King if David had serious secret sins? Of course not! Even Saul was a spiritual man when chosen, his sin came later. There are no scriptural examples of the Holy Spirit specifically choosing an individual for appointment who was covering over serious sin. A person can be chosen and THEN commit serious sin, but NEVER the other way around. Off topic, yes, but think about it. I mean reason on it. Everyone thinks, but not everyone reasons.

Have you already been appointed? If so, did they ask you the three required questions frm the FLOCK book? I have sealed my fate, I asked too many questions about procedures and questioned the Holy Spirits involvment in appointments. Looks like I won't be in your shoes anytime soon!!!! YAYYY !!!!!!!

Literature Servant is the ONLY way to go. Accounts= too much time spent with Elders asking questions and giving advice, and is time consuming.

TMS assistant = assistant to the Elder running the show, and being his gofer, and being responsible for getting substitutions and it is EVERY WEEK!!

Territory!!??? !!!! Do you really want to more involved in D2D??

If you do literature nowadays it's gravy. You wirte down a few things, ordering is all done via internet now so thats easy. Technically you are required to be at the meeting 15 min before and after, but the " before " is rarely enforced. Your major worry will be keeping enough stock, but not too much, that is usually the CO's gripe. Also, the arrangment now is to have the current magazines out on the counter and the sheeple come and get them, so you don't really have to worry too much. Your major concern will be upcoming campaigns/invitations, and the occasional special order item. Some have to go pick up literature at a centralized location to save the $ociety some ca$h, but you can pawn that off on your lackey who wants to emulate you!!

In my opinion literature is the ONLY way to go. If you are organized you will have the most freedom of any position, and an occasional " mistake " now and then ensures that you won't be given too much more responsibility. For example, Saturday morning comes around, where is all the new literature?! Oh no!! I forgot to pick it up!! I will have to quit service an hour early to go get it for the friends!! Just write that on the back of your time sheet when your hours are low. Always act a little stressed out when the Elders ask how the assignment is going so it doesn't look too easy. but then make your determination to help the friends known, no matter what!! You will be valued for your dedication and sacrifice despite obstacles!! Play your cards right and it can be the easiest job, and your ONLY job!!

So on this Island in the middle of nowhere, with you Bible AND the HOLY SPIRIT to guide you, YOU would not be led to all truth as Christ Jesus promised? Everything I have said is relevant, you simply can't or won't see how the minute details all add up for one picture. Also, why are we still celebrating the Memorial if Christ has already returned? Where in the scriptures did Jesus command Christians to pass a plate and cup from one to the other and stare at them? Where in the Bible does it say that a printing facility or Corporation will survive the GT? Only individuals are promised survival. I know it is alot to take in. You are in the " unconscious incompetent " stage of learning, you don't even know what you don't know. Don't worry, if YOU truly love your creator whith all your heart, and mind and strength, and your neighbor, Christ knows it. He knows his sheep, and none of his sheep will be lost. Remember that and trust Him, not men because they cannot give you life. You future is not secure if you are devoted to men.

As a family head, your " qualifications " are called into question if one of your children living at home goes to college. At the same time a recent WT article said that even though this system is doomed, the Society can continue to build and sell and progress because what it does has a future. I asked an Elder if my kid wanted to be a lawyer for the WTBTS could they go to college? His face got a little red, and he bluted out " They don't need anymore Lawyers!". Funny...this was after regailing me with tales from the latest Elder's school where the highlights were:

1) When the GB says " JUMP !! " you say " How High !? " while still in the air. ( no joke )

2) The NWT is the Crown Jewel of the WTBTS printing career.

I agree, it is hard to call it Fame. But the big fish in the little pond is a powerful lure for some. I have know many that tripped my BS alarm instantly. 3 were considered bigwigs in my area. All were eventually DF'd. One was Df'd twice and came back!!?? Sadly even those that believe they are serving Christ will turn on you in a heartbeat if the Shepherding book commands it because in the end they serve men, even if they don't realize it.

That's awesome! I just checked the CD-Rom and that one snuck through without getting edited!! Maybe Recovery would benefit from a list of articles that have been altered from the originals before they made it to the bound-volumes or CD-Rom? Has Recovery ever wondered why the ENTIRE library of publications are not available for everyone? From a technology standpoint it would be simple. Surely the spiritual food contained therein would be refreshing to all those hungering for truth!
