first of all i'd like to apologize on behalf of my "college dropout" thread.

i intimated it as a humorous and somewhat true form of sattire.

i didn't think people here would take it so seriously and literally.

What made Ba'laam change course? Oh, that's right, he didn't despite divine intervention. What made Saul of Tarsus change when he received divine intervention? He wanted to, no one forced him. There was no changing Saul's course until the right influence from Christ came along, and Saul had to want to change. Christ also knew Saul would change given the right motivation. What is your motivation, really? If your motivation is to search for truth, not " the truth " as JW's say then you will find it. If you want to protect men's ideologies or shield yourself from any hardship that knowing truth may bring, then you won't because you will never search for it. If you don't love truth, really love truth, then you will be content to live under an operation of error. Just empty yourself, and stop relying on men's thoughts. When God's word says not to put your trust in men, that is what it means. Do yourself a favor and stop reading the Watchtower for 2 months. Just read God's word and pray for Holy Spirit to see truth. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would lead you into all truth. It will, but you have to want it. You must be fed up with half-truths and lies, even lies from those who think they are your Spititual Mother protecting you from the outside world. So do you WANT to know truth? No one can answer that for you.

Apostate Definition

can someone tell me what is meant by apostates being:.

"persons who deliberately spread (stubbornly hold to and speak about) teachings contrary to bible truth as taught by jehovah's witnesses" .

at what point is someone meeting this criteria.

When I wrote a letter to the Elders I was very careful and used only WT quotes. I adressed changing doctrine and the admitted fallibility of the GB. It did not go over well. When the smoke cleared I was not considered an " apostate " but seriously in danger of becoming one. Had I pressed the issue I am sure things would have been different. If 1 year ago I had said that I don't believe in a FDS class or that the Apostles were the FDS....that would probably be considered apostasy. One Elder who is pretty liberal and cool gave me the impression that if I had just not written a letter or expressed my views then nothing would have been done to me. So it seems you can think whatever you want as long as you don't tell anyone, not even your closest friends. In the end you go with the flow of lemmings or you get persecuted.

Which is the worst WT label ..."causing division" or "brazen conduct' ?

Brazen will be whatever the Elders say it is. If they can't decide then they ask the CO, and it will be decided by him. Questioning and causing a division would definitely be brazen, like Korah. Any apostasizing would be brazen, but all brazen conduct would not have to apostasy. My 2 cents. Hey WT WIZARD!! You should make a list of disaster/emergency items that a family should have set aside. Let's say the power goes out for 2 weeks, what would I need? You can make a separate post so as not to ki-jack this one, or just give a good website.

TS, LOL!!! What's sad is that while they are perfectly willing to take your children and your money.... they will never give you a dime. They don't even have a program in place to give food to their own. Thank for helping ONLY when disaster strikes! What about the rest of our lives, especially the elderly and poor. Even the 1st century christians, although not the FDS ( tm ) hardy,har,har...took care of orphans and widows. By the way don't work overtime becaue you could lose your spiritual balance, but continue to contribute money to the KH and pay for gas and cars for the CO and DO. Lame... Just for the record, I would have no problem contributing to a charitable organization/religion that admitted their mistakes and admitted they do not have all the answers and really helped others. I love the people in the org, but the org has got to go..

Yep, without free labor it will be a challenge. Why sell for $81 mil? Is no one buying? If I had something in my garage that I had to sell because I needed some cash, any cash quickly, then I would take a loss. Otherwise I would take it off the market until I get the price I want. Only desperation would make me sell something for less than what I should be able to get out of it. If my wife is yelling at me to make room in the garage, or the water-heater died and I need the cash then I may take a loss. So why is the WT taking a loss? ( If you want to think of it that way, they are just not profitting as much) Is the market that bad, or are they deperate for cash? I am starting to beleive that the passage of time and all the unfulfilled prophecies and scandals, and doctrinal changes are all pointing to one thing. They need to re-group before our generation dies off. They are banking on Warwick to the beginning of a new era. Why else would you choose to sell something like Bossert instead of holding out for your price, especially when you have free labor to maintain it?

Notice what BOBCAT posted ( Thanks Bobcat ) it is directly related to what I posted about electro-propulsive craft making incredible turns that are impossible for AIRcraft. Aircraft travael through the air and so are restricted by the limits of the medium they travel through. The torpedo Bobcat mentioned is also limited by the medium that it travels through, but there are shortcuts that can be made to improve travel. Some craft have superior aerodynamics over others, the same with watercraft. So science has found ways to lessen certain limiting effects like friction to increase speed and manuverability. Here is where it gets fun....

Notice that even Einstien knew that something, some substance, permeates all space. Space is not empty, there is no such thing as empty space. All physical bodies from the most gigantic Sun to the the tiniest bacteria are surrounded and penetrated by this Aether/dark energy, whatever you want to call it. We are made of matter which has electrical properties, atoms right? Protons and neutrons ans so on. We are moving through the Aether which can be likened to a superfine perfectly conductive frictionless fluid. As our earth moves through the Aether we are influenced by the whatever makes up the Aether, it interacts with all ponderable mass creating Gravity. Gotta go, more on this theory later....

Alright. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. There is no way around it. BUT....you can alter the reactions. Here is what I think is a good example. Let's say Wiley Coyote goes to the top of the tallest building and jumps off. He reaches terminal velocity and whammo!! He is killed, not by the fall, but by the sudden stop. His body could not handle the force caused by the sudden stop which was a reaction to the energy of his fall. It had to go somewhere. Now imagine he jumps off the same building but this time encased in a sphere made of and filled with shock absorbing materials. He still reaches terminal velocity, he still hits. The energy is displaced as he rolls and bounces until he finally stops. He opens the sphere and walks away. All we did was s-l-o-w the sudden stop, cheating really. The equal and opposite reaction still happened we just stretched it out a bit. You can cheat or bend the rules.

i have decided go leave this institution of education.

That was dumb. Nice try anyways.... The difference is the College is not intentionally hiding information, and the Faculty is not required to expel you for finding errors in teachings. Plus you can get a degree from home and leave campus without being expelled. The Library would be full of easily accessible material so that you the student would be free to research everything. Also, the teachers are willing to accept the blame for any errors they make instead of blaming it on the students.

Oh yeah, And the GB have never claimed to have any special ability-

NOT TRUE!!! The Elders in my hall read me a scripture from the OT about " ones having insight " to re-adjust my thinking. It was applied to the GB to show that what is written in the WT equates with Jehovahs thoughts. The GB know and print Jehovah's thoughts! That is what the ELDERS believe!! That is what they are taught. All JW's believe the GB have special powers of insight granted to them via Holy Spirit. If YOU don't believe that then you are an apostate. You have private beliefs and interpretations that differ from current truth and unique teachings of JW's. You are not in good standing within the congregation. ( congregation as JW's use it, not the Biblical meaning of congregation or church, you are not a member of the scriptural congregation according to the GB) Sinner........
