i attended the international convention this year (to avoid chaos in family life).
the convention center was right on the middle of downtown st. louis.
the cult members had to stand in line on the public sidewalk before entering the arena.

my oldest boy got pissed that i started going back to meetings so i had one last conversation with him as he moved out.
(only went back to try and not loose whole family) during the conversation things got a bit heated and i mentioned a couple of false prophecies in the bible the rest of family heard so now they think i don’t believe at all.
guess their right think my going back was just a ruse, yes that’s true to.
No one can tell you what to do. You have to do what is right for you. If I had stayed, I would have developed a serious mental disorder, or started taking pain meds, or being drunk every chance I got, or all of the above, and I may have jumped from a building.
In the end, if 8 F-yards in New York are more important to your family than you are, then they don’t deserve you.

Now we have willfully ignorant parents subjecting children to propaganda, and ignorant converts in poor nations who will pop out kids. This Org is literally becoming an Idiocracy.
The model is barely sustainable. I would argue that being tax free is the only reason the Org has survived so far. I can’t see them lasting another 100 years. Not unless they start offering real value, even if that is a JW ran University that helps Dubs earn a decent living. Sure, teach Genesis in Science class, but then offer useful classes, or a trade school, something...
They are killing themselves, but perhaps that’s natural selection at work...

years ago when i was a jw, one of their cornerstone teachings was that they were nothing like babylon the great.
i remember being taught that the witnesses not using any type of clergy class distinction was proof that they had the right religion.. well, recently we had this article in the local paper, and an elder who was no doubt the presiding overseer tried to use the clergy class excuse to get out of answering questions regarding a child abuse case.

just looking at the pictures in tomorrow's wt study makes me think of the nightmares i used to have as a child.
and nowadays the pictures are sometimes more realistic, so for any who are truly mentally in, this has a terrible effect on them and even their life choices.
