The problem that I see is the hypocrisy. Rank-and-file are told repeatedly to the point of feeling guilty that they should have only food, clothing, and shelter as thier ultimate goal. As BOC said, if you want to try and better your situation in life by getting more education then prepare to be demonized. A brother with a position in the congregation can lose that position if his child goes to college. The hypocrisy is that while telling the rank and file they can not be educated, they use the " educated " to further thier own interests in the name of God. They are not using the rank-and-files contributions to further the rank-and-files interests at all. I bet people would feel differently if there were actual freedom in the JW org, and not the additional laundry list of hypocritical actions, and crimes, and lies. They do what they want and YOU do what they want. I believe they will reap what they sow.

ZID, have some fun! Don't you like to imagine Noah zipping around with his beard flapping in the wind? His bag of literature at his side... Come on, that is probably how Santa Clause got started! Of course the replica wasn't made of gold, that would be too heavy. It would also be silly to think that some ancient tech could not have existed. If it did, who knows what propulsion system it had? Without looking it up, how does a quartz crystal radio work? That is technology. Who would imagine you could build such a thing? I am not saying that golden flyer was a model of something they had, but maybe they saw something like it. It's fun to think about, no harm in that.

I wonder if the Elders even know they are being abusive. The ones I had in my meeting were hard to read. 2 seemed to agree with everything I said but didn't have the balls to play bad cop about some of my recent letters concerning non-biblical rules. Then one particular Elder is a complete psychopath in my opinion, seriously. I think he was the one pushing the other brothers to call me back in. I had a total of 8 witnesses that proved I had done nothing wrong, still this one Elder insisted on more " information gathering " meetings. Then the others were just ignorant, pick on scripture and take it out of context, whatever the slave says types. I am sure some Elders know they are controlling, but what the heck, we are stars in Jesus' hand! One thing was for sure, I had no rights and there was no reasoning with them. I did record it all, I am just having problems getting it from the source to the computer for editing.

NC, sorry to overstep my boundaries. I am not at your level. I should know my place. I wasn't trying to " debate " I just wanted to know what you believe evolution to be. You have answered that, and it sounds reasonable, slow change over time. I guess my real question is the origin of life itself. Life had to come into existence to evolve/adapt. Where did that imaginary group of lizards come from? I don't think it was by chance. That is why I am not an atheist. I will remove myself from this conversation.

King Solomon said " We saw the same thing recently with a neurosurgeon selling his book on NDE: same target market, different theme. Selling pseudo-science, telling the naive believers what they want to hear: it is a big business, making lots of $$ for some.... ".
Yeah, just like Judge Rutherfords books and National Geographic mammal to dolphins stories... They are both written by people who are biased and are making money. None of what is written in them can be proven. To be honest I find Religious myths more insulting that scientific dogma. At least scientists are not hauling me into a star-chamber hearing and accusing me of deserving everlasting death. Adherents to both belief systems can't PROVE anything, and they are passionate and defensive. No one here can prove either issue. Every single one of us will keep learning new things until we die, and we will never get all the answers. No one here is superior to another. I don't really care what you believe as long as you are not a eliteist, hateful, condescending know-it-all who insults others.

This is sooo fun! I love it when people get pissy while trying to maintain a veneer of civility.
King Solomon. You presented this information: " This new species of mosquito appeared within the past 100 years. " Appeared? What does that prove? You cannot prove that this particular misquito was not witnessed by someone 101 years ago, or 300 years ago, or 1000 years ago. Just because it has recently been documented does not mean it evolved from another type of insect does it? That article says the belive it to be an adaptation of another variety. That is one reason I asked what some believe evolution means. It seems to me there is some disagreement among people as to what evolution is. Is it a blob became a cell and that became a fish and that became a mammal and that became a dolphin? Or is it that there were different kinds of creatures that appeared together ( perhaps much more simple versions of what we see today) and then those kinds slowly adapted over time?
New Chapter. No need to get pissy. If you remember correctly I asked what was meant by evolution? Some have a different idea of what it means. As for the Big Bang, don't scientists believe that it was the basic start of our universe as we know it? So it is related to the start of life. Still, leave that out if you want. Slow adaptation over time, and evolution...how do you distinguish them? That is another reason I asked what some believe evolution is. I certainly don't believe in life from lifelessness with no intelligent design. That is my belief, I can't prove it. But you can't prove that one creature evolved into a totally different creature, the fossil record does not PROVE that. Can PROVE a hoofed mammal swam into the sea millions of years ago and became a dolphin? No you can't. You can say, " Dolphins are here so I must be right.". Creationist say the same thing. Outlaw is right. It takes faith for either belief because there are so many unknowns.
Cofty, to be completely honest I have never read 1 book about evolution written by a Evolutionary Scientists. Nice misdirection/ad hominem attack though. You don't think what I posted about speculative evolution is true, do you? Also, can you PROVE a hoofed mammal became a dolphin? No, you cannot. You felt threatened when you faith was attacked, just like New Chapter. Science is YOUR RELIGION, and you don't like someone attacking it ( your perception perhaps). The point is that evolution or creation cannot be proven. Churchgoers say ," The bible says it so I believe it", You say, " Science says it so I believe it ". Both views are constantly changing, and neither side can PROVE anything. I personally FEEL that intelligent design makes more sense than life appearing with absolutely no help, just by chance. Still, I cannot PROVE it.

Aposta-Z, what do you believe evolution is? Some people believe there was a big bang, that just happened with no direction. Then at some point some lifeless matter aquired life with no direction and became all that we see in the natural world. Some say evolution and they really mean a slow adaptation over time. You say natural selection is an observable fact. I assume you mean that if you had 2 dogs that escaped from a warm climate to a fridgid climate that given time thier offspring would show characteristics not seen in the original parents. This would happen because they adapted and each subsequent generation was a little tougher and suited for the enviroment. Still they were still dogs, and always will be as far as you and I are concerned because we will be dead soon. There are no dog-birds, You would think with the need to chase cars and catch frisbees that at least some nubby wings would have happened by now. A dog is still a dog. No one alive today has observed what supposedly happened millions of years ago to say it was fact, and the fossil record is not complete. None of us will be alive a billion years from now to see what lives on the earth, if anything. Here is a good example of the religion of science doing their Judge Rutherford type predictions.

So the Apostle Paul, who according to the latest nu-lite was not a GB member was acting in a worldly way everytime he insisted he had rights. He was really out of line when he counseled those whom he felt were violating scriptural teachings, especially when he dared to challenge Peter regarding his treatment of gentiles. Paul should haved waited on Jehovah. Also the great Heroine of the Jewish people, Esther was also behaving in a disrespectful manner toward Jehovah. After all, Jehovah promised that his people would not be exterminated. Why did Esther not have faith in God's promises and wait on Jehovah in a spirit of mildness? The attitudes of Paul and Esther had no place in Jehovah's arrangement.

Maybe Noah had one of these? I know there are some wackos out there but this is NOT a sculpture of a bird. Also a modern replica was made, only larger, and it flew. Noah probably covered his territory in one of these! LOL!!! He had to use a boat later because the changes in the ionosphere prior to the flood caused malfunctions with his propulsion system. I should write for the Awake!

So did Noah get the formula for transparent aluminum from an " angel " to make his giant aquariums? Otherwise how could the tanks withstand the immense amout of pressure from the water? The only logical explanation is that the prime directive was violated.
