  on 10 june 2019, the finnish jw organization lodged an application against finland with the european court of human rights.

  the case was quickly - by the court's standards - communicated to the finnish government on 10 december 2019. the complaint itself isn't available online but there is a brief summary (see the link above) prepared by the court:.

  the application concerns the jehovah’s witnesses’ religious activities in finland and their compatibility with the data protection regulations.

  Why not have a Podcast? Why don’t they use FB, Twitter, and Instagram in an official capacity? They could reach far more people now, then they ever could with their radio station of the past or with the door to door work.

  The truth is, they don’t want that. They want to talk about giving a witness to the flock, but they know that their doctrines would be ripped to shreds, their true history exposed and even more of the public would learn about their systemic abuse problem.

  They know 💯% that their beliefs have no defense and that they would lose current and future members. Their posh existence would end. The current GB want to lay low, avoid being summoned to Court, and just pass the problems on to the next overlapping generation.

  Pro: It cares about what is legal.

  Con: It cares about what is legal.

  The Montana Law will change when enough people care about ethics and morality and get the laws changed and not before.

  If you’re a JW, you can still believe at your Literature Cart, and you can send letters to homes in your territory. There is absolutely no reason to door knock, especially with the many Social Media outlets available, and JW TV.

  The real issue is that the ORG has created an issue over the D2D work being a hallmark of true Xianity, and they have also found it to be an excellent means of:

  1) Keeping the flock busy.

  2) Measuring the “spirituality” of members.

  They simply do not want to admit that D2D is a waste of time because it is a core doctrine. They just don’t want to be wrong about one more thing. I’m not sure that the masters is spin could even come up with satisfactory “new light” explaining why “Jehovah” stopped the D2D work.
  

  It must suck being wrong all the time.

  LDS membership figures inadvertently supports Wt as been true and accurate

  it not only reflects, but it would verify that wt statistics are true and accurate.

  herein, are my reasons why.. lds general conference, which is the equivalent of the jw memorial, has an attendance of around 20 million ( that's people, who physically turn up).

  however, the people choosing this online option is the unknown in this equation.. lets now look at 2 different scenarios for lds general conference to see how this compares to the jws: .

  The JW culture is one of appearances. Dubs are actively encouraged to guess at their field service numbers if they get behind or forget to turn in hours. Visibility is what counts in the culture. Do you have pedo leanings? Just be visible in service, and answer “No” when asked if you have ever been involved in inappropriate behavior of any kind by the Elders. Guess what?? You’re now a Servant!

  In a culture that encourages “theocratic warfare”, embellishing experiences, heralding the exploits of “Andre’” and making up service time, as long as you’re visible in service, how can we trust any figures they publish?

  I feel terrible for the wildlife. The idiocy and greed that contributed to this problem makes me want to believe a Divine Being will save us. Humans obviously can’t get out of their own way..

  Maybe Australia will be a wake up call for humanity?

  He didn’t want to discuss the failures, just like Herd didn’t want to discuss the financial troubles a couple of years ago. You would swear his wife was held hostage somewhere and he was forced to read that manuscript.

  I get it. I felt the same about every privilege I had in my last two years as a Dub.

  i notice the friends are in an anne frank attic instead of a boarded up basement this time.. the giving to ones in need pic shows literature and bible, but no food or money.

  I thought Jehoober was speeding up the work by blessing the use of technology and Social Media, and animation, and JWTelevangelism?? Yet, it seems to taking longer and longer to convince less and less people to join?

  I haven’t watched the video yet, but I would assume Cedars mentions something about “born-ins” being the majority of the growth. Also, we have no idea how accurate the reports are. We all know Dubs pad their service time and bible study reports.

  during gerrit loesch's talk just released, he goes on a long list of the false end times predictions throughout the millennia.

  i didn't expect it, but then he goes into the precursors to the bible students who, when their dates failed, changed christ's presence to have happened 'invisibly'.

  then it goes right into the jws, and he reads the quote from millions now living will never die about how we can 'confidently expect' the resurrection in 1925, and then the life everlasting book that predicted 1975. of course, he doesn't say how it's still going on, namely with the overlapping generation and its' accompanying convoluted chart, but still, this is more than they've ever said on the subject, especially recently.. it almost sounds like a forced statement, to address any backlash from people reading 'apostate lies' online, because he also says how the gb 'humbly' admitted mistakes, referencing the non-apology after 1975 that disturbed raymond franz.

  Maybe it is damage control and the most fearful of reality will stay loyal, but many more could snap out of it.

  If Dubs are defending the Org with this video, you could still ask, “ So, the GB have admitted that they’ve been wrong in the past... It’s 2020, what makes you think they are correct now? What about in 5 years?? 10??”

  i find it funny how many people want to broad cast their religion on fb then whine whine when others critique it.

  its like the ny times saying no one has a right to criticize its oped.

  Mainstream Christians who accept science confuse me more than Pentecostals. If you’re really a Christian and believe in the Bible as God’s word then you can’t reconcile those beliefs with science.

  Although I disagree with groups like the Pentecostals, at least they believe the Bible, or their interpretation of it. If the Bible says homosexuality is wrong, then it is, ect. They aren’t picking and choosing their core beliefs.

  Then we have the intellectual dishonesty of Mainstream Christians and the mental gymnastics necessary to reconcile scientific truth with Biblical “truth.”

  The only truth I see in the Bible is that of Archetypal examples and common sense, like, “you reap what you sow”, ect. Some lessons are just as true now as they were 2,000 years ago, but we don’t need organized religion to understand those truths.
