Ever notice a lot of JWs don't have pets?

i was told by several elders to not get a dog when i was looking for one in the 80s.

the end was close and we needed to focus on the preaching work.

i know some have pets but a lot don't.

I knew Dubs who had pets and Dubs who did not. Why? The reasons are varied. Some of the “friends” had allergies, some lived in places that did not allow pets, some were too busy.

The real issue that disturbed me was hearing Convention talks ( from an outline ) talking about Pets and how “Worldly” people ( destined for destruction) treated pets like family members. The warning was that pets can become your “God” and then you won’t be balanced, giving your devotion to the Governing Popes and their decrees. Not to mention the $$$ that you may spend on your Pet/God that should rightfully go into the Governing Pope’s retirement fund.

then backed it up by saying that if one group march for some right, another group will march for the opposite.. so jws are intolerant and proud of it.

You become a CO for a reason. Let’s just see it it’s repeated. It may just be one CO going on a rant.

We had a CO directly contradict the Flock book by saying, “ If you associate with disfellowshipped relatives, you’ll be disfellowshipped too!!”

The Flock book does not teach that. Was this CO ranting, or did he simply let slip the unwritten “code red” of the GB??

Who make up the new memorial partakers?

when the doctrine regarding 1935 being the close of the calling was done away with in 2007, it was not unexpected to see the number rise.

over the next few years it went from around 8,500 to 10,500. this seemed to indicate that there were a couple of thousand people that may have felt they had the calling all along, but too shy to profess it.

for the 30 year period between the mid 1978 and 2007, parktakers had barely dropped.

The new partakers, at least a certain percentage, could be persons like myself who learned the TTATT and then embarked on an in-depth study of the Bible and realized that the scriptures hold out no earthly hope at all.

Then those persons were dumb enough to believe that they were somehow special and were being used by God to help cleanse the “one true religion” in all of human existence, thereby starting a chain of events that fed their own personal “persecution complex” leading to unavoidable consequences; that being existential crisis followed by disfellowshipping.

Yet another post about "generations"!

as repeated many times about how convoluted, crazy, doesn't make sense and just poorly executed what an overlapping generation is, i just remembered another generations concept that just as bad!.

Legal fight over door-to-door notes continues: case goes to Strasbourg

on 10 june 2019, the finnish jw organization lodged an application against finland with the european court of human rights.

the case was quickly - by the court's standards - communicated to the finnish government on 10 december 2019. the complaint itself isn't available online but there is a brief summary (see the link above) prepared by the court:.

the application concerns the jehovah’s witnesses’ religious activities in finland and their compatibility with the data protection regulations.

Why not have a Podcast? Why don’t they use FB, Twitter, and Instagram in an official capacity? They could reach far more people now, then they ever could with their radio station of the past or with the door to door work.

The truth is, they don’t want that. They want to talk about giving a witness to the flock, but they know that their doctrines would be ripped to shreds, their true history exposed and even more of the public would learn about their systemic abuse problem.

They know 💯% that their beliefs have no defense and that they would lose current and future members. Their posh existence would end. The current GB want to lay low, avoid being summoned to Court, and just pass the problems on to the next overlapping generation.

Pro: It cares about what is legal.

Con: It cares about what is legal.

The Montana Law will change when enough people care about ethics and morality and get the laws changed and not before.

If you’re a JW, you can still believe at your Literature Cart, and you can send letters to homes in your territory. There is absolutely no reason to door knock, especially with the many Social Media outlets available, and JW TV.

The real issue is that the ORG has created an issue over the D2D work being a hallmark of true Xianity, and they have also found it to be an excellent means of:

1) Keeping the flock busy.

2) Measuring the “spirituality” of members.

They simply do not want to admit that D2D is a waste of time because it is a core doctrine. They just don’t want to be wrong about one more thing. I’m not sure that the masters is spin could even come up with satisfactory “new light” explaining why “Jehovah” stopped the D2D work.

It must suck being wrong all the time.
