It’s purely a control mechanism. Talent and intelligence = Pride, and perhaps a life of adequate finances, which is not something the GB want for the flock in general.

Sure, they love the occasional rich Dub, or Eldub with a business they can use, but the rank and file should be uneducated for the most part, and compliant. How on Earth could the GB control educated, confident people?

Those WT statements are a way to make uneducated Dubs feel better, as in, “Jehovah loves you even though you have no real skills, just paint the best you can with this 2” paint brush.” It’s busy work for those who put up with the abuse.

It’s a carrot and stick routine as well. “God loves you and will use you, but check yourself, you lowly worm..”

I wonder how the GB feel about humble but inefficient Lawyers?? 🤔

The JWs being persecuted has no significance, other than reaping what they have sown. Do you seriously believe JWism is somehow special? What about 7th Day Adventists or Pentecostals? Are they not the “true religion” worshipping the “True God” as they all claim??

Are you forgetting the pandemics of the past that killed far more people? Yet, here we are.

You’re also forgetting that archeological sites like Gobekli Tepe prove the 6,000 year history of man to be a false narrative, which destroys any chance of using the Bible to calculate any prophecies about the last days. Even if it were true that man was only 6,000 years old, God says you can’t predict the last days.

This pandemic is just a combination of an ever growing population that is no longer isolated geographically from one another. Also, some kind of global cooperation makes sense, along with wiping out all Communist countries like China. You want to talk about threats to humanity, there you go.. We need to destroy destructive, degrading, dehumanizing cultures that help produce pandemics ( like China and their disgusting unhealthy markets and their Communism ) and then move in from there.

Remember the Revelation book?

i recall when it was released ,that's when i was a drone, how excited i felt at the prospect of reading it and formulating ways to sell it at the homes in my area.. i thought, finally a book to explain the last book in the bible and indeed one that the churches seemed to want to leave alone!.

i sold quite a few probably because of my enthusiasm and can still remember clearly the first day when i went knocking on doors with it ,and it's been decades since.. but over time it lost it's shine and my mind started to question the explanations in it due to the scene of other things being changed in the jw beliefs.. do you remember they flogged that book so many times in the book studies even when it was found to have "newer light " eclipsing it!.

who else remembers the printed pages with the official corrections to insert into the book ,so many that the book collapsed to be of no relevance anymore really.....what an embarrassment!.

I remember having to study it at least 3 times...the final times with print-outs of “adjustments” in understandings. 🤢🤢🤢

We hosted the Book Study at our home and I absolutely do not miss having an actual full-time ( extremely physical) job, only to rush home and get ready to have people in my home for 2+ Hours... Especially when the Eldub never had a job in his life, seriously.. his wife worked..

I think I would become ill if I had to read from that abomination aloud to a group... The only thing worse would be having to listen to Brother Marble-mouth McStutters read for an hour while trapped in the books study.. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

well don't worry, as of next year we will be spicing things up for your enjoyment.. not only will we be having the talk before the memorial (i know, wild huh), but we will be treating you to the talk via video starring our famous speakers from bethel so you can see how a talk should be given (after all bethel does boast the best speakers in any country, right?!).

I remember waking up and learning TTATT. One of the articles I had just read was the 1968 Awake, “ Is it later than you think?”

This was the infamous “What future for the young?” article.

Then the “Special Talk” was entitled, you guessed it, “Is it later than you think?”” WTF???? What were the odds????

It was then I realized that “Special Talks” were just recycled old shit from the addled minds of the Governing Body and their sycophantic Writing Department.

as opposed to blind faith/cognitive dissonance and honest mistakes.. i'm inclined to think they have the best of intentions and are just wrong (primarily because the bible is wrong), but i'm willing to consider the evidence otherwise..

Where is the evidence that your questions are honest and that you actually want an answer??

Get back to us when you have a child that is sexually abused by an individual who is a know predator according to the database kept by the Watchtower, and you are labeled as “spiritually weak” for questioning official policies, or shunned and disfellowshipped for questioning doctrine?

Where is your evidence that GB and their lawyers are simply inept and not malevolent? Inept and humble persons don’t normally attempt to cover their tracks by any means necessary.
