so the lexington resident was honored to take part in the construction of the new orangeburg assembly hall of jehovahs witnesses.just seeing something all of us are so passionate about and that we enjoyed doing, to me that is a great opportunity to show that we are doing this as volunteers and as part of our worship of god, youngblood said.youngblood was among the approximately 5,000 volunteers who worked on the assembly hall over the past year and a half.the 3,000-seat assembly hall sits on 58 acres near the intersection of s.c. highway 33 and interstate 26. an open house was held friday.the center will serve primarily as a location to educate the jehovahs witnesses on biblical principles for daily life.
more than 300 congregations will use the assembly hall for their semi-annual assemblies.youngblood said she heard about the orangeburg project about six years ago and knew she wanted to volunteer at that time.i worked on anything that i could, she said.

I know the girl mentioned in this article, she's a super nice girl and is really zealous for being one of Jehovah's witnesses. Her father Barry is a funny and great person to talk with. This family is certainly the exception from the stereotype, sadly they are the most heavily indoctrinated.
This assembly hall build though was the spark that helped an in-law wake up. He said the same exact thing, "Why are they building 10 million dollar buildings when we are living so close to the end? This is unnecessary pressure and money the brothers can't afford."
I then worked my sparlock magic on him and now he's out.

Is the Truth so delicate?
by Socrateswannabe inthe gb brooks no questions or dissention.
their brand of truth seems quite delicate and incapable of standing up to scrutiny.
"the truth is incontrovertible.

Hi! I'm New Here
by alecholmesthedetective inhi there, as was suggested to me, i'm starting this thread to say hi to everyone.. my awakening began recently, after the new light on the 'slave'.
i felt it didn't add up and went to check and found out ttatt.
for a while i tried to find evidence of whether the wt might still be god's organization, i needn't say i couldn't.. i had already resigned as a ministerial servant and a pioneer, had already had several issues with the elders and did not put up with their nonsense for a long.

New members who are still active, what do you think?
by OccupyJehovahsWitnesses inhey everybody!
i was curious, as i've seen several new members on the board who are still active, what do you think about the topics you see on here?.
i'm very interested to know what your experience has been like, finding the site, signing up, engaging in conversations.

msjacob, I used to think the same way but the WT has a systemic problem of prejudice and a poisonous view of the world that is not natural, it is learned.
To label persons who have left the movement as wicked or apostate due to a differing opinion is not held in any way christian or found in the bible. When you realize the false authority they have, how it is not backed up by their own history or by their own interpretation of the bible, you will see how futile and pointless their shunning policies and mental regulations are. Hopefully you will see this and continue waking up. I agree that many handle deceit in a very bitter way but the Watchtower reaps what is sows with their social and life altering policies.

Still Waiting For the Governing Body To Explain Their New Light
by Cameron_Don inregarding the governing bodys new light relative to matthew 24:45-47, anointedjw.org recently said the following:.
this new light certainly poses a problem for the governing body.
perhaps this is another reason why they have not yet published a sober and scriptural xplanation of this new light.

Hey Don, this topic on the 1919 appointment has been the backbone of my awakening, I started a topic on this new light a few months back and I hope you can check it out whenever you get the chance.

Rebuttals for having an independent attitude or spirit.
by Emery ini am looking for rebuttals on this statement.
i find it reprehensive when they preach this from the platform, they do not want jws (who are individuals) to have any individuality.
they want people to be their personal robots with no free will.

LOL @skeeter 1
I could see them replying to that with, "Well brother Skeeter, thats why he wasn't part of the Faithful and Discreet slave class." haha

Umm they could get into some serious trouble if it was the Watchtower. Scientology got into trouble for editing their wiki page to show favorable information.

I am looking for rebuttals on this statement. I find it reprehensive when they preach this from the platform, they do not want JWs (who are individuals) to have any individuality. They want people to be their personal robots with no free will. What would you say to a JW or an elder if they were to accuse you of having an "independent spirit/attitude" using both the bible and reason?
