JWs and Exclusivity
by Don Schneider injesus, mark 9-40 (nwt).
the jehovahs witnesses assert exclusivity.
that is, they are the only true christian faith.

As Apognophos has said, no one scripture or argument will wake up a JW. A great many are in for emotional reasons, not logical or theologically sound ones. I've helped several local JWs leave the organization and what i've found is that, a surprising amount end up not really caring about the theological side of things. Their main reasons for leaving always seem to revolve around the social injustices or the hypocritical atmosphere found within their kingdom halls. IMHO, this was a waking call for how petty the reasons can be for people to remain in. JWs put up with a lot of crap and risk their lives by adhereing to such dangerous doctrines (blood doctrine), all for a handful of conditional friends. Family aside, there really isn't any good reason to remain or sacrifice your time in this cult. In the end, it's an uphill battle that needs to be fought on a social level, not a theological one.

This brochure is gold. I love how they quote Church Father pseudopigrapha to make certain points, that's desperation right there. I feel there are stronger arguments against the trinity which could have been made in a more truthful way, rather than maliciously.

I love it when witnesses admit that shunning is a form of bringing people back. News flash: that's called emotional blackmail and it should be the red flag that tells you it's a cult.

They'll need to do something because their interpretations are only going to appear crazier and crazier among outsiders as the information age grows.

It all deals with marketing to the current generation. We live in the ADD culture and Watchtower knows a thing or 2 about marketing. No one wants to sit down and read articles, its ridiculously time consuming and boring, they know that. Video is the best marketing tool as no one has to read or find time for it. You're one click away from getting the same information within 5-10 min by using videos . I mean, look at how dangerous it is to freaking drive now, everyone is freaking on their phones texting or watching videos, thus rendering billboards useless. The print industry is dead and they know it, it's really that simple. Also, it's cost effective compared to running printers, printing billions of pieces of lierature, buying ink, and housing bethel workers to run the whole operation. Video marketing IS the way to go, trust me, there isn't anything special they're trying to do here.

Funny how the Governing Body doesn't practice what they preach, they still use the word "worldly" in the talks they give today.

TV.JW.Org - Expense?
by passwordprotected inthere's no doubt that the wtbts isn't sparing the hard-earned donations from the r&f on its latest trial of jw broadcasting.. this screenshot i took from the "behind-the-scenes" is just one of many examples of top-end tech gear being used in this endeavour.. .
why does this guy need harmankardon speakers when he's using cad software...and note the iphone.
this guy's a bethelite?.

I work with much of the same equipment as a front-end developer, so I could attest that it's definitely top of the line, no question. Outside of using Apple -- which I will always recommend for this kind of work -- everything else seems to be overkill. They don't need harmon kardon speakers or poster sized digital screen wacom tablets, that's just ridiculous.

Reddit Has Done a Great Job Lately at Exposing the Watchtower to Millions
by Emery in1.5 months ago there was a perfectly timed reddit topic about jw false prophecies that made it on to the front page of reddit.
this certainly didn't bold so well fortheir historic campaign.
the front-page of reddit had over 135 million unique visitors last month.

ruderedhead: Interesting. Not sure what reddit is, I assume it's a social media thing, but it's good to know millions have seen this, and, on those very rare occassions when someone talks to them at the door or elsewhere, they have the information. Some may even look into it further.
Reddit is a social networking forum and news website where members can submit content, such as text posts, images, videos or direct links. Only members can vote submissions "up" or "down" to organize the posts and determine their position on the site's pages. Content entries are organized by areas of interest called "subreddits" or subforums. There's a subreddit for basically everything. If you like riding Harley's, there's a subreddit for it. If you like watching videos of people dying, there's literally a subreddit for that. You will basically see the best entries in descending order by their vote count.
