Jesus said that "my yoke is kindly and my load is light" What did this scripture mean to you when you were mentally in? Did you feel the JW load was kindly and light? If not, what was the point in him uttering those words? Was it some kind of sick joke?
Jw land is all about doing more, bloodguilt, guilt about traveling, pant tightness, guilt about missing a meeting even if you were sick, guilt about pioneering, serving as an elder, guilt about entertainment, meetings are often a verbal beat down. You couldnt celebrate holidays, birthdays, no sports, afterschool activities, no nothing.
What is kindly or light about this? I never understood as a JW how this scripture could possibly apply to us.

Night and Day from GB to Writing committee? Someone explain?

im even seeing memes posted all over instagram from jw mocking it.. here is my question, why are the things written so different from how the gb members, like anthony morris are?
i know the gb dont actually write the stuff but i was under the impression that they come up with the spiritual light pass if off to the writing committee and they put it in the publications.

The most irritating thing is that they say the bible has laws and priciples. Ok fair enough. The problem is that the GB has seen fit to define said principles and make hundreds of mini laws relating to them. There is no room for the individual to work out how a certain principle may apply or not apply to them.
For instance, the scripture about modesty. Tony has told us straight up that yoga pants are NOT APPROPRIATE, and no one OF SOUND MIND would wear them and THATS ALL THERE IS TO IT. He has taken a principle and made it into law. If a JW woman as an individual decided they were not modest FOR HER thats fine. If another decided they were modest THATS FINE TOO! They are for the individual to decide between them and god how to apply the principle. 100 years ago a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking :). Now it is not. Fashions change and what is modest at one time and place is not in another time and place. Its not for Tony "Assclown" Morris to decide.

The most explicit statements about 1975 were in talks, not in print. In a talk they could say the end WILL come in 1975, and if its in a talk, especially at a convention, it is considered true.
Beards, R rated movies, Avatar and many other things are not printed, yet are unwritten rules. These rules are just as binding as what is in print. If they are called out about it, they can say WE NEVER SAID THAT, just like 75'
Also, to be in print, most of the GB has to agree to its being published. This increases the chance of material being vetoed. In a talk, a GB member has free reign to spout out personal opinions as law without it having to run through an editing process.
One of the GB, I forget which, maybe Losch has gone on rants about american Football. He does not like it. That wouldnt get into print because they would never agree on printing it.
Morris has a hard on pun intended for tight pants for some reason. Maybe when he is sitting down and a handsome young brother is reading the WT Tony cant help but stare at something snaking down the leg of those tight pants.. He dosent like the feelings that he tries to supress coming to the fore, so he goes on rants about it lol

Is the Society trying to self sabotage?
by truthseeker ini'm not going to list all the changes here that have happened in 2014, most of you who frequent the boards know about them.. in reference to anthony morris' talk, i can't help feel that the organization is behaving so abnormally out of character for itself that it is bewildering even to ex jws.. cultish behavior is perfectly normal for cults, but whats happened this year is so far out of whack it beggars belief.. what do they think they are doing?
are they psyching jws up for some major announcement?.
i can't help but feel that something really strange is going on, this does not feel like the regular "special announcements" followed by articles in the watchtower.. .

The WT reminds me of North Korea. It is a spiritual North Korea in every sense. Although the leaders are clearly delusional, they keep pumping out the smiling faced propaganda, keep the big rallies going, and demand absolute obedience. If you dont toe the line you are DF or marganilized as non spiritual. In NK, you will be sent to concentration camps.
How many North Koreans actually buy the propaganda? How many are scared and just act? Who knows. Just like JW land.

The flock book states that if you meet with an elder body IT SHOWS THAT YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU FEEL YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE ARRANGEMENT AND THE ORGANIZATION. It is for this reason I do not think I would ever appear before them. Whatever you choose I wish you the best.
My advice? Choose whichever path will cause you the LEAST stress.

Over 1,000,000 in attendance and you are worried about tight pants?
by Separation of Powers inyou know, rarely in the history of the org has a group this large congregated to hear from "mother.
" they incessantly speak of the huge group that met at yankee stadium in 1958...the over 250,000 that congregated to be instructed by jehovah.
but over the weekend, there were over 1,000,000 people excited to hear some type of direction, some type of encouragement, something to help them hang on "just a little longer.".

Out of the 1000000 who heard this talk, how many were startled, stumbled, troubled, or enraged by his talk? I would think around 100,000. Of those it could start them on the road OUT of WTland.
I wish I could have footage of KH audiences around the US, with zoom capabilities and pausing to see peoples faces right when he made the craziest statements. I want to see how many look shocked, angry, and how many were smiling and nodding.
Even AMIII himself remarked that the talk would be conterversial and how other audiences who heard it got angry, to which he repeated, while holding a WT printout that he probably wrote himself- "take it up with god".

the style and content sound a lot like ray franz but it obviously was not.

One Eyed Joe- It was the closest I have ever come to standing up, openly making a comment and calling out the hateful nonsense he was spewing and walking out. I only refrained because my wife and child do not deserve to bear the embarassment. To see the sheeple heads nodding, and the roaring applause only made me angrier. My blood boiled, and I had intense anger beyond the usual. This hppened when he catagorically called marrying a non appointed JW a MISTAKE you will pay for! Worse than his words were his body language and attitude and his constant "take it up with god" comments. I was seeing red and still am. How people can not see that he is a cruel harsh man is amazing.
I MEAN LOOK AT THE GB!! Pharisee Tony Morris? Heavens Gates own Steve Lett?? I mean really? This is the best God could do? These are the people you must OBEY OR DIE at Armagedon?
The words I would like to use to describe this guy would get me banned from the forum. Again, whats worse than Morris?? The head bobbing sheeple, who eat up his hateful words like they are from God. Idiots.
