i'm not going to list all the changes here that have happened in 2014, most of you who frequent the boards know about them.. in reference to anthony morris' talk, i can't help feel that the organization is behaving so abnormally out of character for itself that it is bewildering even to ex jws.. cultish behavior is perfectly normal for cults, but whats happened this year is so far out of whack it beggars belief.. what do they think they are doing?
are they psyching jws up for some major announcement?.
i can't help but feel that something really strange is going on, this does not feel like the regular "special announcements" followed by articles in the watchtower.. .
The WT reminds me of North Korea. It is a spiritual North Korea in every sense. Although the leaders are clearly delusional, they keep pumping out the smiling faced propaganda, keep the big rallies going, and demand absolute obedience. If you dont toe the line you are DF or marganilized as non spiritual. In NK, you will be sent to concentration camps.
How many North Koreans actually buy the propaganda? How many are scared and just act? Who knows. Just like JW land.

The flock book states that if you meet with an elder body IT SHOWS THAT YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU FEEL YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE ARRANGEMENT AND THE ORGANIZATION. It is for this reason I do not think I would ever appear before them. Whatever you choose I wish you the best.

I wish I could have footage of KH audiences around the US, with zoom capabilities and pausing to see peoples faces right when he made the craziest statements. I want to see how many look shocked, angry, and how many were smiling and nodding.
Even AMIII himself remarked that the talk would be conterversial and how other audiences who heard it got angry, to which he repeated, while holding a WT printout that he probably wrote himself- "take it up with god".
i was reading an article from a '95 wt called "watch out for self righteousness" it exposes amiii as a true pharisee by their own definition.
the style and content sound a lot like ray franz but it obviously was not.
i am confident you would never see an article like this in todays wt land.
One Eyed Joe- It was the closest I have ever come to standing up, openly making a comment and calling out the hateful nonsense he was spewing and walking out. Also the OP is correct. This may be the largest gathering of JWs ever to hear the same program from the same speakers, and this was the best they could come up with??? Bashing clothing choices? Creating class distinctions? Telling people if they dont save money from their low paying job and travel to take a 1 hour tour of a factory, then they are not "spiritual"? after reading about tight pant tony's rant about sisters only marrying ministerial servants lest their marriage will be a failure what anecdotal evidence do you have to support this.
the divorces that i am familiar with in the congregation show me that having priveledges in the congregation do not improve the odds of a better marriage.
i would say about 60% of the divorces had at least one spouse who was a pioneer, elder or ministerial servant.
He also stated that if a baptized male is not a MS or Elder without a "really good reason" he is suspect. He explicitly stated that marrying a non appointed man is a "mistake"! My blood boiled. He also alluded to the idea that if you dont hold a rank you are scum when he said that raising 7 kids, 5 of which are appointed, 2 of which are still JW but NOt APPOINTED is a reason for grief over the failure! The message was clear as day! If you arent appointed you are Suspect and a spiritual loser!

The WT would never print that jogging pants are unacceptable while Jogging. I cannot get over the arrogance that one "imperfect man" thinks he can tell other grown adults what to wear. Its one thing to give counsel on what to wear to bethel or the KH. Now they are branching out into everyday clothing. The control grows.
