i saw an instagram post showing a short clip of a talk being given in one of our southern states.

the talk clip showed speaker making the statement, "jehovah doesn't want anyone to know satans real name, jehovah hates satan so much, he doesn't even want his name mentioned" .

"Ha Satan" means the adversary. Many scholars point out this character in Job is actually very much like a lawyer putting Job on trial.

Build the Ark

i actually want him to build a real ark, or at least have a self contained floating zoo because this one act can show how ridiculous this story in the bible truly is.. lets make this simple.

1000 pairs of animals on one boat including provisions.

Are there any religious groups that avoid the food storage issue by claiming everyone fell asleep for a year. I remember back when I was a JW I thought they were only on the ark for forty days.

I was recently thinking about the storage of supplies on such a cramped boat. How would you handle the lighting alone? there are no windows. everything would have to be lit by torch, lamp, or candle. How many candles alone would you need to store for 360 days?

I would try a different tactic. just talk about getting one yourself, get a ring catalog. Maybe they have a gold one with a JW.org on it, maybe one with a golden calf. ask your wife your "friends" if it would look good on you. Make sure you show it off and if someone says anything tell them Stephen has one.

If you were to point out any contradiction to a JW they would be able to claim its not a contradiction . I think the best way to approach a contradiction to a Jehovah's Witness is to ask them to give you an example. Then ask them to define why its a contradiction. Then point out a similar one in the bible and watch them backpedal.

Do the JWs still say "we are in the last of the last days" ? I don't even know what that means any more. They will say the end is coming soon but according to their god a day isn't a day. They sound more like a politician recovering from a lie (what is the definition of "is"). If we can redefine words then he didn't lie. This reminds me of in Genesis when god says in that very day you will die but apparently a day doesn't mean a day it means a thousand years. Did the great communicator explain to Adam and Eve that a day really means an arbitrary period of time.

This isn't the only word that religions often redefine. What does dead mean? John says god gave up Jesus' life but if you come back to life in a mere 48 hours (Friday afternoon to Sunday is two days not three) that's not death.

Bethel Meeting at Regional Convention

i decided to go to the bethel recruiting meeting yesterday to test out my theory that the organization is in decline.

i assumed that if there is a general feeling of apathy by many in the org, then certainly it would be shown up by the lack of enthusiasm or zeal by many to sign up for bethel service.

well let me say that based on what i observed, this organization is not going anywhere.

Seriously, though; growing up, I did find most JW girls to be far less attractive than non-JW girls I knew. it actually made me kinda depressed at the time.

I actually had the opposite impression. there were a lot more sisters than brothers. Met a few men that came into "the truth" because of some attractive sister.
