¦ Severe anemia in a patient who will not accept blood products presents a significant challenge for the health care team. As health care providers, we must be aware of these patients' wishes and have plans in place to provide care from the time of admission to the day of discharge.
¦ Jehovah's Witnesses will refuse all major blood fractions, including whole blood, packed RBCs, plasma, and platelets. Minor fractions are allowed and the decision to accept or refuse these fractions is a personal one made by each Witness.
¦ The goals of anemia management include cessation of blood loss, meticulous conservation of blood, optimizing hematopoiesis, and assessing the patient's physiologic tolerance of anemia.
¦ Profound anemia with a hemoglobin level of 2.6 g/dL is survivable without a blood transfusion.
¦ A conservative dosing regimen of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents can be effective in increasing the hemoglobin level of severely anemic patients.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Flansham Lane in Felpham was subjected to religiously aggravated criminal damage overnight between Thursday 11 April and Friday 12 April. Parts of the wall of the building were splattered with red, white and black paint and some of the graffiti included swastikas and the word 'CULT'. Detective Constable Ellie Hughes from West Sussex CID said: "Sussex Police take criminal damage of this nature very seriously and we are determined to bring to justice the person(S) responsible for such a mindless act. "Officers have speaking to the local community and I would encourage anyone with information no matter how relevant they think it is, to please contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 401 of 12/04 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111." A 45-year-old man from Littlehampton has been arrested on suspicion of religiously aggravated criminal damage and has been bailed to 29 May pending further enquiries.

The WTBTS of Britain is producing books and magazines (23 million items for the UK) and are then selling these to the IBSA. For the year ending August 2012 this was at a sales cost of £11.7 million.
Excess funds from both the WTBTS of Britain and the IBSA are been donated (grant) to the WTBTS of Pennsylvania, who are then lending the money back as interest free loans for building purchases, etc. This is coordinated by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses.
The IBSA is donating its property to other WTBTS corporations. For the year ending August 2012 this amounted to £9.5 million.
The IBSA received £6.7 million in "grants" (donations) from a WTBTS charity in Germany.
Interestingly the grants received by the IBSA from the WTBTS charity in Germany over the past 3 years, where the European distribution centre is for the WTBTS, is equal to the claimed value of the books and magazines "donated" as charity aid to Europe by the IBSA.
Simply put, the WTBTS of Britain is printing books and magazines and are selling these to the IBSA. The IBSA then "donate" these items to congregations in Britain and to the WTBTS European distribution centre in Germany and claim the money value as "donations and overseas aid". The WTBTS charity in Germany, after receiving donations from across Europe, can then donates grants to the IBSA equal to the amount the IBSA donated in books and magazines.
Profits are donated via the WTBTS of Britain to the WTBTS on Pennsylvania, and the central fund operated which contains monies from the WTBTS of NY and Christian Congregation of JW's Inc. The WTBTS of Britain is registered for the secondary purpose of "funding the construction of places of woship in various countries" one of these being the United States of America.

"this is done to ensure elders fully comply with any legal requirements that may be applicable in the state in which they reside," she said.. "in victoria if there was mandatory reporting the immediate advice would be to report that immediately.".

Salvation Army forced to defend handling of child sex complaints

The Salvation Army has had 473 complaints about abuse in its Victorian children's homes, has spent nearly $20 million so far settling them and could give no explanation of how predators got away with it for so long - but it denied there had been a culture of abuse.
The Salvation Army had almost no records of children in the homes but had not tried to hide, shred or dispose of them, Captain Malcolm Roberts told the Victorian inquiry into how the church handled child sexual abuse...
The committee also grilled Jehovah's Witnesses Terrence O'Brien and Rachel van Witsen about when the church might refer child sexual abuse to police.
Mr O'Brien, the director of the society, said if reporting was made mandatory the church would comply.
He said if abuse was reported to elders, they had to inform the church's legal section before anything else. It was the victim or family's choice whether to go to police.
