Lloyd Evans Patreoff Pool March 2024
by DerekMoors infor those still interested in lloyd's fall from grace, i made up a chart of my own.
april 2023 is when he put out his "things are bad" tin cup begging video, and he got a small surge to 592 on the 13th of that month.
i'm also using his all-time peak of 897 from november 2022.. for march, we're gonna say a modest -15, putting him at 352. i'm also curious as to when he might hit 300 and then 200. if he keeps up with an average of -20 every month, he'll be at less than 190 before the end of this year.. happy guessing everyone..

From JW LEAKS
Having observed this pool, and other Lloyd-related matters for some time, and taking into consideration his attacks and defamation of me for no legitimate reason whatsoever, I would like to put myself down for the following prediction this month and every month hereafter (no doubt I will be correct at some point in time):

Sparlock Toy
by NotFormer ini wasn't around when the sparlock thing hit about 11 years ago, but it became such a meme that that debacle still gets mentioned from time to time.
one thing that came up in conversations of the time was about how dumb the name was; that someone in bethel could have come up with a less lame name.
i think that that bethelite was trying to be clever by using "warlock" as the stem and dropping the "w".

by jwleaks inan open letter from stakeholders, survivors, and their advocates.
1 october 2023. to the new zealand abuse in care royal commission of inquiry and the new zealand attorney-general, the honourable david parker:.
firstly, thank you for the time and effort the royal commission has expended in its impartial investigation and examination into historical abuse and neglect in state care, and in the care of faith-based institutions in new zealand.. secondly, thank you for your understanding, acknowledgement, and your response to the harm abuse and neglect causes to individuals, families, and communities; and your efforts to ensure lessons are learned for the future.. we were disappointed that the jehovah’s witnesses are seeking a judicial review and high court declaration in relation to being the subject of any review by the abuse in care commission of inquiry.

An Open Letter from Stakeholders, Survivors, and their Advocates
1 October 2023
To the New Zealand Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry and the New Zealand Attorney-General, The Honourable David Parker:
Firstly, thank you for the time and effort the royal commission has expended in its impartial investigation and examination into historical abuse and neglect in State care, and in the care of faith-based institutions in New Zealand.
Secondly, thank you for your understanding, acknowledgement, and your response to the harm abuse and neglect causes to individuals, families, and communities; and your efforts to ensure lessons are learned for the future.
We were disappointed that the Jehovah’s Witnesses are seeking a judicial review and High Court declaration in relation to being the subject of any review by the Abuse in Care Commission of Inquiry. According to the official media statement issued by the Jehovah’s Witnesses Public Information Department:
“the religion of Jehovah’s Witnesses does not and never has taken children, young people or vulnerable adults into care.”
NOTE: The High Court hearing commences on 9 October 2023

The below interesting comment/analysis appeared on an XJW Facebook page. I thought it worth repeating.
“On reading publicly available media reports, the Jehovah’s Witnesses have responded to the New Zealand Royal Commission into Abuse in Care with a deliberately false legal entity. This non-charitable and non-religious administrative company was created in 2019, and thereby could never have been responsible for children or the congregations. Yet, by using this misleading entity, the Jehovah’s Witnesses have pulled the wool over the Commission’s eyes and appear to be doing the same to the High Court.”

So, 60 Years Ago
by titch inso, folks, 60 years ago, starting on september 1st, i believe, we, local witnesses in southern california, had the "privilege" of attending the "around the world assembly", at, of all places, the rose bowl, in pasadena.
(i think that it was an 8-day assembly) i was 9 years old then, almost ready to start 4th grade.
so, was anyone else, on this site, at that assembly?

Most interesting. Thanks ‘titch’. I was not there but am currently researching the history of the Californian JWs, aka IBSA, at this point in time. Maybe one day we can ‘touch base’ on this time period.

An analysis of the recent 153rd Gilead Graduation talk by Jesse Morris (member of the US Branch Committee and son of Anthony Morris III)
by jwleaks inarticle from the last days newsletter (june 5-11, 2023).
it has been said that by reading the watchtower and awake!
magazines, along with other publications of jehovah’s witnesses, a person will receive, over a period of years, a considerable and broad education.. …would you like to grow in knowledge, obtaining an education of even much greater value than can be received in any college?

I remember 2 WatchTower's and an Awake! per month, with many, many pages to have to constantly read/study/underline. It was never-ending.
Four magazines a month, 32 pages each edition, 128 pages per month, or 1536 pages per year of life saving so-called 'spiritual food at the proper time'.
What are we down to now? 32 pages for the year, including 4 pages of covers and lots of pictures.
I guess we're on a spiritual diet nowadays, except for the governing body... they look well-fed.

…Would you like to grow in knowledge, obtaining an education of even much greater value than can be received in any college? You can do so by reading regularly this magazine and its companion, Awake! - The Watchtower magazine, June 15, 1983, p. 31.
Back in 1983 there were 24 public issues per year of The Watchtower magazine (32 pages each issue) and 24 public issues per year of the Awake! magazine (32 pages each issues).
Starting next year there will be one public issue of each magazine published.

Does reading the Watchtower and Awake! magazines really give you a ‘considerable and broad education’ along with ‘an education of even much greater value than can be received in any college?’
At the recent 153rd Gilead Graduation, Jesse Morris, member of the United States Jehovah's Witnesses Branch Committee, and son of former governing body member Anthony Morris III, gave a talk in which he incongruently conflated 'critical thinking' in education with a cynical, critical, pessimistic attitude, i.e. ‘negative thinking’.
Upon reading The Watchtower Jesse Morris is quoting from, one discovers that the subject under discussion in the quoted paragraph, is not ‘critical thinking’, but rather ‘negative thinking’.
Watch the entire talk via by Jesse Morris on JW(.)ORG [starts at 0:11:20 mark]: JW Broadcasting - June 2023: 153rd Gilead Graduation.
Is critical thinking negative thinking?
What is critical thinking?
The Foundation For Critical Thinking provides the following definition of ‘critical thinking’:
A well cultivated critical thinker:
· raises vital questions and problems, formulating them clearly and precisely;· gathers and assesses relevant information, using abstract ideas to interpret it effectively comes to well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, testing them against relevant criteria and standards;
· thinks openmindedly within alternative systems of thought, recognizing and assessing, as need be, their assumptions, implications, and practical consequences; and
· communicates effectively with others in figuring out solutions to complex problems.
Critical thinking is, in short, self-directed, self-disciplined, self-monitored, and self-corrective thinking. It presupposes assent to rigorous standards of excellence and mindful command of their use. It entails effective communication and problem solving abilities and a commitment to overcome our native egocentrism and sociocentrism.
