  If solid proof were suddenly found that the Book of Enoch should be included in the standard Bible, would that pose a problem for the Jehovah's Witnesses in regards to Michael the Archangel as Jesus?

  if the book of enoch (elaborates and gives mention to 6 more archangels) suddenly became part of the bible due to solid evidence, how would this effect the shakey jw doctrine of michael the archangel as being jesus?

  there are six other archangels mentioned in this book; could it be possible, if included in the jw bible, that one of the other archangels could be jesus?

  would they excuse it somehow and simply stick with their implicit understanding of jesus=michael?.

  Who gets to decide which books go in our Bible? I've been wanting to get a catholic Bible to read the apocrypha. I could read online but I prefer to have a book in my hand.

  Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?

  there are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".

  and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.

  simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

  Those who really make me laugh here like Outlaw and Billy the Ex-Bethelite and others I can't remember because I haven't been a member long enough. Mouthy aka granny because she seems like such a sweet person.

  Jgnat because she has persevered for a long time. The Flippers, Balaamsass, and Elderelite because he seems like a chill guy and is still in. People like JWFacts for having an awesome website. Cedars, Dogpatch, Andersonsinfo, Bill Bowen (I don't remember his username), anyone else who had a high position. Anyone here really. Would be nice to have a huge apostafest one day where everyone could go. You are all interesting.

  the name of the new book is, "dommedag ma vente," or, in english, "judgment day must wait," written by poul bregninge of denmark.

  The publishers asked me to do a longer version for their website and I wrote a little over 27 single-spaced pages which is far longer than what is found in the book because I added lots more information.

  The links are not working. Can anyone upload the story again, please? I know it's a chapter in the Danish Book that has probably already been published, but Barbara Anderson said she wrote more for the website that's not in the book. I couldn't find it on freeminds.org.

  I've asked myself this same question a lot of times. When I read about Byington's translation in the Proclaimers book and then his biography online I felt bad for him. He worked so hard on it, and the least I could do was buy it. I knew you couldn't order it anymore so I searched for it online. A thread from this forum came up among the search hits and I decided to take a look. It had a link to a scanned .pdf version that Atlantis posted. I didn't look at anything else because I was just interested in the Bible. This was like maybe two or three years ago.

  as i have posted before i am working to help get my wife out of the jws so we can leave together.

  i have been trying to think of ways to open her mind and get her to think critically and use her mind.

  i dont want to bring lots of facts and reasoning to her attention if her mind is not yet ready for it.

  I read here that appealing to women's emotional side works better. If you want something to look out for, pay attention to the talk on Friday, at 2:25 p.m. ("Avoid Testing God in Your Heart"). Ask her why it would be wrong to learn Biblical Hebrew and Greek. Shouldn't it help you understand the Bible better? He said that some were testing the NWT for accuracy. What's wrong with being skeptical? The speaker is going to say that we don't need to do research because others are doing it for us. Why let someone do your thinking?
