by sir82 ini don't recall seeing this posted on this board before, my apologies if the topic is duplicated..... in april 2011 and march 2012, the gb made a "loving provision" to allow jws to sign up for the auxiliary pioneer work with only a 30 hour requirement instead of the usual 50 hours.. in 2011, in the usa, about 500,000 signed up to be auxiliary pioneers.. in 2012, per the august 2012 km, only about 370,000 signed up.. that's a 26% drop in just 1 year!.
granted, in many parts of the us, the march weather is far worse than april's.
but on the other hand, there were 5 saturdays in march 2012 - you could get your "time in" with 5 long saturdays and nothing else.. .

Updating the NWT again
by nicsfreedom ini could not believe my ears when my father told me recently that his circuit overseer (2 weeks ago) said that there are 5 scriptures that the society is going to revise.
has anyone else heard of this?
if any of them have to with jesus i am going to tell my parents to run not walk out the kingdom hall, yikes!

A thread for those who have no support system or a place to go due to shunning.
by ohiocowboy inreading the recent thread about the young lady who just ended her life got me thinking that maybe there could be a thread that is easily accessible to anyone who may need help due to homelessness from losing their families and friends to shunning.
too often i hear stories about people who have lost everything, and have no where to go, and at the same time having no type of support system.
unfortunately there are some who are so lost that they feel that there are no options besides taking their own life.. i think that a website that matches people in need to others who can help in some way would be a great idea.

I was thinking of a website with all the cities listed of those who can offer/volunteer a room. The person seeking refuge could fill out a form (or call) and he/she would be contacted back ASAP with more information. The idea of having a volunteer-run hotline is a must. I don't know how much it costs to build a website, but ads could be placed to help support maintenance costs.
