  "The media are going to spread lies about us!" (from 2012 DC audio drama of Jehovah's Witnesses)

  yes during this year's audio drama about jesus' death it was said from the platform that the media is going to be spreading lies about jehovah's witnesses and that we should pay no attention to them.

  did they say this at your convention location?.

  also during the drama about marriage it was obvious to me that brothers are not reaching out for privileges the way they used to.

  ive been lurking for quite sometime and now feel the need to come and noob it up.

  it's taken a lot to bring me to read anything critical of the wts.

  i used to glance at these apostate sites and shutter in fear because of the obvious demonic venom that can be found :) i am still an active witness and have been in this struggle to stay both in and be removed mentally from this organization.

  I'm so glad my generation has ready access to the real truth at just a click or tap away. I take my hat off to everybody that was in for so long and consequently had to suffer more. Please know that your efforts to bring awareness are not in vain and have probably helped many. I know they helped me. Thanks.

  I asked a bethelite once if the society taught koiné Greek classes. He told me that he didn't know and had never heard of it. At that time I was a still a witness and thought that learning the original language of the new testament Greek scriptures would help strengthen my faith. That and I noticed how the speakers would use Greek words in their talks to help explain better. I thought to myself that it would be nice if I could study koiné Greek to help make my talks more interesting. I never got to it, though. It probably was discontinued.

  Rather be in hades, yes I do. I will give you a link to the recorded talk. Just give me a few minutes to find that thread, and I think there's even a transcript somewhere here. It was Friday in the afternoon at 2:25: Avoid Testing God in Your Heart (Psalm78:18,19). Apparently testing what the WT says is tantamount to testing God.

  Welcome! W hen I was a kid, I too always found the FDS doctrine fishy. One poster here put it perfectly, "It misreads a moral parable as a prophetic allegory."
