E-Watchman on Unbelievable podcast
by mindseye inthere's this podcast, unbelievable, that i've been listening to.
it's from britian, and usually has debates between atheists and christians, or between christians of varying beliefs.
anyway, the host; justin brierly; has been trying to get a jw on his show for a while, but to no avail.

The reason I just can't believe in god
by jambon1 infor the first time in ages though, i actually re-evaluated my position on god/wt.. i had attended a few funerals in the spring and had also reignited some friendships with people from the hall.
but actually, i just keep going round in circles in my mind.
i cannot back an organisation with such a flawed past and one that endorses such policies as shunning & blood.

I know of many former JWs who have come away not believing in a God at all. To me this is sad, but understandable.
There is a wonderful website I found, it is called reasons.org. It might answer some of your questions about why God has allowed suffering, might not. I don't know. Whether we believe or not I think having this forum has helped many to cope with having been lied to for so long.

Help for a father of two young JW's
by never a jw ini have never been a jw, but my wife, two brothers and their wives and children are.
also, most of my wife's brothers and sisters are jw's.
since i have a close relationship with both my family and my wife's family you can deduce that most of my friends and associations are with jw's.

The good thing is that they are still young enough for you to have a major impact/impression on them. Involve yourself in their lives as much as you can. As their father....you certainly have this right. One-on-one trips which will give you some time to have some heart to heart talks. Not sure of your religious background but maybe taking them with you to do volunteer work sponsored by either a secular or a church (youth group?)...I know the last idea might have to be approached more delicately. The later might help them to form the idea that not all "wordly" people are evil as the Watchtower org suggests that they are.

All of this brings back the memory of my mom's neighbor going to the police telling them my mom was running a house of ill repute on Monday nights in the guise of a "bible study", LOL!

Goodreads
by witnomore ini have a goodreads account, it is a great way to find out what others think about books you are thinking of reading.
i noticed that a lot of the watchtower literature is on there and being rated up -- obviously by current members.
might be some time for some apostate intervention people .

Hello ~ New Here.
by witnomore inalthough i haven't been a witness for over 20 years, it has taken me that long to finally feel brave enough to join another church (aka christendom) and begin researching my past beliefs.
all this research has opened a few old wounds, but mostly liberated me from a lot of quilt.

@MrFreeze: Well, my husband and I thought something was definitely missing in our lives, we wanted to test the waters with fellowship. (He had fears too, his family was a mixture of Christian Science and Jewish. I am amazed at the difference in what I am experiencing now vs. what I grew up with. The charity and love I am finding overwhelms me. The mere fact that you are able to disagree or even debate with your pastor on a subject, just blows me away!
