is it possible to do all that is required as a witness?

if one were to put down on paper all that is required to carry out, both with secular work and a good spiritual routine, is it even possible to do all that one is "supposed" to do?.

a basic routine includes:.

I was referring to what seemed like the constant pleas for money and contributions that were being begged from the platform last time I was attending meetings regularly. They asked everyone to "sign a slip" of what they would faithfully promise to give every week and put it into the contribution box. They then reminded everyone of how much publishing the books cost, as in how much it would cost you to buy it in "the world" conveniently forgetting that the world doesn't have their books made on free labor.

They were especially upset that brothers were ordering the computer programs that the Society puts out, but not contributing enough for the cost of them in the Contribution box. It got so bad that I felt they were like the merchants in the church selling doves and such in Jesus' day. The ones he lost his temper with and threw them out of the temple. It was disgusting!

We all know that it costs next to nothing to put a program on a cd. But they were asking AT LEAST 100.00 per program ordered, to be put in the contribution box. This was going on WEEKLY in our KH.

ok, it seems like we need to start setting up some rules and regulations as 'common sense' doesn;t seem to work for everyone.. rule 1. no personal attacks / insults.

Thanks for the memory, SC. One of my favorite MS' who was eventually sadly disfellowshipped, used to fondly call me bonehead. It wasn't taken as an insult back then, we were very good friends.
I'll always treasure those times a few years ago, and remember them fondly.

Yes, I very well remember this. And I felt at the time, and STILL feel, that they were trying to convince people to do this, because it was beginning to sound too much like a Cult, when people would constantly parrot the "Society".
If it looks like a cult, and talks like a cult, and bullies like a cult, what would people think?

You hit the nail squarely on the head, Martini! No worky, no Organization. No money, no organization. No pushy the mags, no Organization.

So what if you come to all the meetings? If you don't sell the mags and get the people in and convince them to contribute their incomes, No Organization.

Is this JEHOVAH's organization, or a publishing companies' organization run by guilt of the masses?

...attain unanimous support from his creation of free moral agents?

from the majority at least.. apparently according to the wt interpretation of god's own book...a prominent spirit creature who made himself satan became unsatisfied and left god.later untold numbers would join the devil.. now the only solution for the future of these 'rebels' would be for god to destroy them.. then the very first human creatures apparently also felt unsatisfied and withdrew from god.they got destroyed.. later god had to confuse the language of all humans because they were unanimously opposed to god.

those people too are history.. then god had an ark built because all flesh had left god's way except for a handful of people.. evidently god was not expecting any great number to actually join noah, otherwise god would have had noah build several arks!

That sounds like WTBTS doublespeak. We are not to question. Ours is not to wonder. We are to only be assimilated to follow the GB's orders, period. I say HOGWASH.

ON THE EARTH, the majority of mankind has chosen NOT to follow God. What the people here were asking was WHY?

And yes, even though we cannot say how many of the Spirit world forsook Jah, or what their motives were, the question is WHY can't Jah keep the majority of beings as followers and why is his answer to it always violence and killing?

If my child disagrees with me, I don't kill it. That's not LOVING.

A Request

lately i have spent some time responding to various subjects on this forum.

at this time it seems a bit necessary that i address something about myself in the hopes that it will clear up some misunderstandings.

first of all, i am not a defender of the watch tower bible & tract society.

I agree with Red HorseWoman. It's not JUST the doctrinal issues regarding the WTBTS that are sore points. It's the way they have treated "Widows and children" and those having doubts and questions regarding their "blinking light". It is said in the Bible that the true religion would be known by the "Love among themselves". This love is sadly lacking in the congregations that I have attended over the past 32 years. It is almost as if being taught this religion STUNTS emotional growth and maturity instead of widening out our capacity to love. Such a shame. And I do believe that is the telling feature that lets us know that it couldn't possibly BE the only true religion, if indeed it is comprised of any truth at all.

May I answer these questions as an inactive JW and what I was always taught to believe about this subject?

In your response to Frenchy you qouted Jws in the 20th century.

It says many millions that were not JWs will be resurrected and have the opportunity for life.

Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and rightousness before the great tribulation, " and they will gain salvation.

I ask, how do those who will be resurrected according to the WT and the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses gain the opportunity for life?

Answer by Rcat: I was always taught that they will be "taught" Jehovah's ways, and grow to perfection like all the armageddon survivors, and be tested after Satan is let back out of the abyss.

Also, how will those that chose to take a stand for truth gain salvation before the great tribulation?

Answer by Rcat: By listening and learning the "truth" and becoming Baptized Jehovah's Witnesses, as only BAPTIZED Jehovah's Witnesses and those too young to make that stand who are CHILDREN of Baptized Jehovah's Witnesses will be fortunate enough to be "SAVED" in the Great Trib and Armageddon.

Do we have to belong to the Jehovah's Witness belief system to gain that salvation? Please answer this question with a yes or no.

YES. Simple as THAT.

THAT is how I was always taught in the meetings and through the publications and my memory ISN"T FAULTY.
