Isn't it sad how JW's must struggle to label someone rather than to
admit that it's possible that you no longer share their belief system.
I was not labeled materialistic but was called immoral(a favorite label for uppity females) even with no evidence to support it.

I am materialistic
by expatbrit inlast week i had a phone conversation with my family back in england.
my parents had figured out that something wasn't usual about my attitude to the "truth", so they started grilling me: have i been to meetings?

Carmel,
Papaya contains a fairly potent enzyme called papain. It was often used in meat (Yuck, I'm a vegetarian) tenderizers. Taken at mealtime it adds additional enzymes to your digestive system.Neyank,
Bee pollen and Royal Jelly can both be good energy enhancers providing, of course, that you are not sensitive or allergic to bee stings. -

Congrats, Rollercoaster!! I, Too just married the man of my dreams (not a JW) TWICE. We had scheduled a small wedding in August but decided to elope in June and still have our little August wedding. None of my family came to our little wedding, but my parents visited us the morning of and dropped us off some gifts. I asked them to stay to which they replied that they couldn't, of course.
My wonderful, new husband has been through so much pain with me, much, but not all Witness-induced. Appreciate this fine man that oyu are marrying. We are very lucky ladies. I am, of course including my pal TW in this statement.

RDH-- News!!!! I just found out yesterday about a new UTI treatment for dogs and cats from a company called ACTIPET. Its even in a powder form so it's esay to administer. The company that owns ACTIPET is called Nutraceuticals and makes such brands as Solaray, KAL,etc. so it's a very reputable company. See if you can get a local health food store to get it for you. If not, contact me. I'll get it to you. I'm very much a pet lover, so anything I can do...
As regard to papaya enzyme for weight loss, it's a nice digestive aid and there is the slightest and I do mean slightest chance that it may help. I wish that there was a magic pill for weight loss, but if there was such a thing my gorgeous husband and kids and I would be living large in the Bahamas. Nothing works like diet modification and good, hard exercise. Anyone who tells you differently is being untruthful. To kick start yourself however, try cutting back on carbs. Make sure that the carbs that you do eat are from whole or better yet sprouted grains.

What would you have done without the WT?
by expatbrit inimagine that you had never heard of the watchtower.
imagine that your life and that of your families had never been influenced by wt teachings.. i know for a fact that the wt's philosophy on further education contributed to my not achieving what i should have at school.
this is not to shirk the responsibility for my grades; ultimately they were my responsibility.

What would I have done without the WT? I would have taken the college scholarship that I had been awarded. I would not have married the first Witness doof that came around simply to thwart my mother's pressure to pioneer. My only sibling may not have committed suicide because at the time psych help was "frowned upon." I may have been spared being on an antipressant because of the stress of said doof running off with a married co-worker and the ensuing anguish of having to wait for weeks and weeks in silence while judicial committee decided what to do with him. Imay not have had to endure the tirades of the local PO in front of my children referring to me as a whore because I years later fell in love with a beautiful non-Witness man. I got to watch in horror while that same PO da'd me without any letter or any proof of wrongdoing on my part. Finally I get to enjoy being estranged from beloved family members.
Thanks WT!

RHW:
Colloidal silver does work. Just be careful to follow the label dosage and make sure that you take some probiotics (acidophilus) to keep the silver from depleting the good bacteria in your intestines. Also don't take the acidophilus and the silver at the same time because the silver will kill the good bacteria also.

memorial: how do you feel?
by unanswered inthis question is mostly for those of you who still believe in the bible to some extent.
my mother-in-law called the other day to see if rileygurl and i were going to the memorial this year.
we told her that we wouldn't be attending.

Interesting, I still feel a twinge of guilt over not attending the memorial. A small twinge. Last year was the first year that I didn't attend in all of my life until this point. I have tried to analyze this and I think it has to do more with just the tradition of it than any thing else. Smacks of so-called worldly holidays, huh.

Thanks for the welcome!! I must admit that I have lurked about about here for a while! I am still a little distrustful of anything with the JW name attached to it. Your warm welcome sure helps though.

Just wanted to say "Hello" to all forum members. I was a baptized JW for 23 years and was DA'd about 18 months ago. Oh, the feeling of freedom. I was told by my PO at the time that I would be alone adrift in a world of heartless, worldlings. This has not been the case by a long shot. I am also a longtime friend of Thinker's Wife and have recently had the pleasure of becoming aquainted with Thinker. I would be happy to offer support to any JW's who are questioning their memebership in the org or any who have been ousted for whatever reasons.
Happy to be aboard,
Rob
