i've just started reading a course in miracles and wondered if any one here has any thoughts or any contact with this book?
as an ex-jw i find it hard to accept reading any other religious publication but i find the idea of the ego's attempt at separation as the real issue against the idea of original sin a fascinating concept.

ACIM, helped me to consider possibilities that the WTS never offered. In a way, it helped free me from their bondage. It also helped me overcome some of the fears the society instilled in me from a very young age. It made me stronger. Besides, the book and the miracles are about love. What is wrong with love?

Goodness Terry, who cares? Really??? Must everything be sooooooo serious? Why do you care what amuses some of us? Some of us don't need you to tell us what you just told us because WE ALREADY KNOW AND WE DONT CARE. Believe it or not, I have a HUGE salt shaker and know how to think critically. But the truth is sometimes I just want to have a good time and think of things in a way that I haven't thought of them before. Could you leave us alone just for once?

I read ACIM in the late 80's. I found it intriguing and personally relevant at the time. I checked out the website earlier this morning and think I will read it again. Thank you for reminding me of this delightful book.

i was just glancing at the back of the october 15th watchtower and the questions from readers.
the question under discussion is "what should i do when i have a question about something i read in the bible or when i need advice about a personal problem?".
the article goes on to discuss how we should consult the watch tower publications index among the many 'tools' that have been provided by the faithful and discreet slave whenever we have a question that is not directly discussed in the publications.. one statement really caught my eye, because it's the first time i've ever seen the society actually dissuade people from writing in with questions.
Anybody who allows the society to tell them what to do deserve all that they have coming to them.
