  there's an article posted by william dalton at the andover townsman on steven t. byington, translator of the bible in living english.

  there are some interesting tidbits about the man which i didn't know, including the fact that he was an anarchist!.

  I have byington's book on arnarchy, actually he didn't write it, he just translated it from German, back around the turn of the century.

  It has been reprinted and is available on Amazon in paperback for less than 10 bucks

  has she had it published yet?

  Yep, I'm putting together "Daughters of the Tower", a history of ALL the offshoots and splinter groups of the Watchtower Society. So far 800 pages.

  apparently they never got my letter which i sent like a year ago.

  i had corresponded with them by e-mail to ask them if i was 'announced' from the platform but the po was unaware.

  now, they want me to send letter, again.

  so jehovah's witnesses came to our door, this is about the fifth time, i always miss them, but they talk to my wife, this time i was home due to the holiday season, the man was an elder, he came with a newbie, thought he would show her "how's its done"), the young women sat there with mouth wide open, as she watched me beat up her elder with his own bible.

  well after discussing the scriptures for about 2 hours, (subjects included: salvation, ransom, permission of evil, god's organization), she looked at me and said "amazing, i've never heard it explained quite that way before.".

  the elder asked me what religious affiliations i had, i told him, "i am with the associated bible students.

  Arguments with JWs never get anywhere. They will change the subject when the facts cannot be refuted.

  I remember years ago when the JW's attempted to contact me because my subscription had expired. I had a P.O. Box, and they tried to get my actual address from the Postal Service. What they didn't know was that I worked for the Postal Service, and my P.O. Box was at the office I worked at. The Post Master knowing me but not giving them any information, took their name and number. So I called. He was the P.O. of the congregation and wanted to visit and talk, I told him right off that I was a Bible Student, and asked if he still wanted to come over, he said yes. so he and his wife came over. It was around 6 pm, we had just finished dinner, they stayed until 10 pm, no lie. We talked about everything under the sun. Everywhere we differed. Then we bagan to discuss Watchtower beliefs. He brushed aside EVERYTHING I had to say about what the Witnesses teach and believe. Said I was misinformed, when I told him I read it myself from their own publications, he said, I must have read it wrong, that he was with the Witnesses some 57 years and he never heard of such a thing.

  I invited him and his wife to my study, they were a bit apprehensive, I assured them I wasn't a serial killer, that I just wanted to show them something. When they came in, their jswa dropped to the ground, as they saw every book by the Society ever published, I then took a book off the shelf and showed him where I got my information from. He began to stutter, and said that they had to go as they had another study to visit. I looked at them and asked "at 10 pm???" He said, "yes, it's a late study".

  They ran out of the house, like salesman who just visited "The Munsters".

  In the car group I would have said you must be apostate and then marked your door down as a do not call.

  LOL ... we use to call them "bird food"

  Yep ... I've been called that by a number of JW's I've come in contact with.

  Yes, I'm honored. I've been called a lot of things, but never antichrist. Perhaps like the post office, they'll have my picture on the Kingdom Hall board under the caption "Antichrist, beware!".
