  In all the catholic funerals I've ever been too, I've always found it funny how the Church sends everyone to Hell, but when they die, they always seem to go to heaven. Even the worst of them!

  Public Talk & Bookstudy Changes - the real reason

  i havn't been able to keep up with all the discussion in this forum as to why the gb has suddenly decided to implement these changes and perhaps someone has mentioned this already, but to me the most obvious reason has nothing to do with control, or money.

  it has everything to do with the serious shortage of qualified brothers who can (or who are willing to) be used.

  i have been involved in the organzation for 40 yrs and i have never seen the level of apathy and disillusionment among those serving in some capacity in this organization.

  Probably made you feel good just to know it was there huh?

  Yeah, it did, I was well liked by the congregation, the BOE didn't care for me much, particularly the PO, he hated me with a passion. The BOE use to harrass me, call me up all hours of the day and night. It wasn't unusual for them to call a special meeting at 10 pm.

  When I handed the PO my letter of resignation, I told them, I was stepping down, I specifically told them, I wanted the bookstudy out of my home, as well as the field service meeting.I told them, I will not serve as attendant, that I wouldm not open the door, hold the mikes, serve on the school, I would only go out in service, and when I did, I only went with my Bible.

  I felt a huge load off my shoulder when I handed in that letter. We left a few months later and never looked back.

  There are two types of elders and I served with both. The kind that actually believe it all, hook-line-and-sinker, and do their best in serving the organization. Then they're are those who don't believe anything, they just like the power, the status of being elders, giving talks, etc. Wanting to climb up the corporate ladder of the Watchtower.

  In the end, I got tired of it all, and one evening after the School/Service Meeting I handed in my resignation, I had it in the breastpocket of my suit jacket, just waiting for the day when they ticked me off.

  The Watchtower----A Book Publishing Company???

  sure they publish books and they used to do that quite a bit.

  but now, i wouldn't primarily call it a "book publishing company".

  they charge nothing for the literature.

  Bethel moving from Brooklyn.

  an old pioneer friend told me recently that the bethel is moving from brooklyn.

  she learned this at pioneer school from the cos who taught the school.

  also they warned of many changes to come.

  I think thery will have to keep some office in Brooklyn, as that was where the Watchtower Society of New York was incorporated, just as they have an office in Pittsburgh to continue the Watchtower Society of PA
