I, too, must toast Kent. Although the absence of his site will leave a hole in the anti-JW movement, we must realize that everyone deserves to take the time to live their life.
A while back, I listed Kent in my "Apostate Hall of Fame". He is the dirty Harry of the apostate world. He pissed off a lot of people, but when you had a job to do, no one could get it done like him.

yesterday evening my daughter had the worst fright of her life.
she was taking a nap with emily, her 15 mo.
old daughter, she woke up when emily began shaking.
My daughter had one when she was a baby. My wife called 911 and the ambulance and fire department were there in less than two minutes.
She started breathing again on her own and today is a perfectly normal 12 year old.
Although it is frightening, it is not all that uncommon.

I was an "undercover brother", too, for quite a while. Although lately, my excuse generating machine has been working overtime. I have managed to avoid meetings for 2 1/2 months, now, but I will be at the DC this weekend.
They still keep calling me for my time every month, and I keep giving them what they want - one imaginary family study, four hours and four RV's for me, four hours for my wife. So, I'm technically still in good standing.

It seems ironic to me that the most informative part of the assembly was that when the doors open up, the Witnesses leave fast. That can be read on so many levels.
So, is 12 minutes really a good time to empty the place. Let's do some math. According to the NHL, the Saddledome has a capacity of 20,000. This does not include the ice surface, which should seat around 2,000 more.
So, during the assembly, the attendance of 8,600 was only filling the place to 40% of capacity. Is it really that amazing that a building (even a large one), that is 60% empty, can be evacuated in 12 minutes? I think they are flattering themselves a bit.

i would like to tell someone about it but of course they won't believe me unless they see it in print.

I wouldn't be too critical of the papers for not reporting this. I am not aware of any media that report suicides, unless it is so newsworthy that they cannot avoid it.
The reason is because, when suicides are reported, the frequency goes up. The media is actually performing a public service when they avoid the story.

I'm certainly impressed by the extreme security measures. This year's lapel cards are simple blue pieces of paper with writing on them - no picture or anything.
It must be virtually impossible for criminals to forge one of them.
have you ever thought of this, if god listened to the prayers of all the millions of people praying at any one time, with the different languages and request, how would he have time for anything else?
maybe he has a great computer in the sky that handles it all for him.
many prayers are only mental, is he pluged into the mind of all people or does he hear only verbal prayers?
Last night, my family was having supper outside on the deck. My wife suggested that we have a prayer for a change. So, I mumbled through the usual - it's tough to give a sincere prayer when you're an atheist.
About half way through the meal, we were interrupted by a torrential downpour. I guess He was not amused.
