Greetings

a warm and friendly hello to all !!.

i've been lurking and learning for a few months.

former elder who drifted away due to congregation hyprocrisy and politics.. went through many of the feelings of inadequacy and/or lack of confidence for a while but the longer i was away the stronger i became.. i'll tell more about myself later but right now i want to thank all of your for sharing your thoughts and comments.. it's truly amazing how bright the light can get when you really learn the truth and get out of the "organization".

Hi and a big welcome to you. Its so good to hear of ones coming out of the cult. You must have been in the Org. for quite a number of years to become an elder. We were in for over 32 yrs. We look forward to hearing more about you and your experiences with the hypocrisy etc. The thing that made us take notice was to learn that they had been affiliated with the United Nations - Hypocrisy!! - we at first found it unbelievable that the Org. would do such a thing. Look forward to hearing more from you Kaytee and Twinkletoes (Mrs Kaytee)

I left!!!!

this is my first posting on jwd!

i wrote out my disassociation letter.

i am sending many in the congregation copies of my letters exposing the fine "elders".

Well done and welcome Hawkeye.

We did the same by sending letters to over a dozen JWs before sending our resignation (same letter) to the Elders of the local cong. who rec'd it a few days after everyone else. But don't be disappointed if you do not receive any replies - we didn't receive any except our disfellowshipping letter signed by three elders! "Friends" we had for over twenty years chose to ignore us and our letter.

Changes to the Shunning Practice ? We have just been spoken to !

we went to lunch at our local cafe on saturday, and there were two families - still jws, also dining there, (in different parts of the cafe).

we expected the usual shunning treatment, but surprisingly they initiated the "hellos and how are you" and seemed genuinely pleased to see us (we have been out of the org for over 3 yrs now and we are always shunned whenever we see former jw friends) it was such a surprise to us and we couldn't help wondering if the governing body have issued "new light" on the treatment of disassociated ones.

especially as these two families have completely avoided us for a long time, even though we personally wrote to them to explain our reasons for leaving (un involvement etc+) .

JW hypocrisy

i am trying to build a list of hipocrisy with in the borg.

i dont mean things like the un scandal as people in the hall wont have heard of that, but smaller stuff that goes on all the time with out the rank and file noticing.

When purchasing a new kingdom hall the first reason given for purchasing the hall was -

The existing hall had no future because of a proposed road widening scheme (according to certain elders)

this was approximately 15 years ago, new properties have since been built including a new Catholic Church.

The road is still as before, nothing has changed, but they got their own way with the purchase of another hall.

Next a feasibility test as to whether we could afford to purchase the new hall, answers to be written on bits of paper. Up to this point, very good, and in line with Luke 14 v 28. but now comes a whammy -

This feasibility test was then changed to a VOW by elders from the platform.

On the purchase of the new KH a show of hands was invited to purchase property,

AFTER the count, the elders told us from the platform again, that they had already exchanged contracts.

THIS IS JUST SOME OF THE GROSS HYPOCRISY THAT WE ENCOUNTERED.

i had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).

(and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).

anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.

for years i have argued with them over issues and doctrine.

they know most things that are wrong with the wts but refuse to budge on the idea that it is the only true religion.

Remember the story about the "Emperor's New Clothes" and the young boy who was untainted and saw the situation for what it really was?

Before we resigned from the Org. (after 30+ yrs). We approached the elders with a open mind saying - if you can answer our questions according to bible truths, we will not resign, on the otherhand if you cannot satisfy our questions we have no alternative but to leave the Org. In other words the Real Truth should be able to defend intself.

Unfortunately, your parents are not like the young boy in the story and it all may take a bit longer for them to accept the Real Truth.
