Why is the Watchtower Society so cruel to teens?

my mom just informed me that a 17 year old has been disfellowshipped at her hall.at least 7 others have been kicked out within the last 5 years.the publisher count is only 56 .why do they let the teens get baptized so young?

i was 14 and only got baptized because of pressure and the end was coming.if you weren't baptized you would be destroyed.. why don't they wait until everyone is at leat 21?

all these teens haven't come back and you won't ever see them unless they return.i haven't seen my cousin in over 2 years.no one went to his wedding,isn't invited to any family functions and is to be avoided at all costs.. the watchtower society should be ashamed that they act that way and the parents let them get away with it..

Aren't we suppose to be christians (a footstep follower of christ) didn't Christ get baptised at 30 years of age? therefore setting us an example.

Is manner of dress more important than respect for Jehovah?

my mother and i were discussing the fact that she was told by a minister of the jehovah's witnesses upon being asked whether mother was going to be attending a book study at her local kingdom hall and mother requested whether she could wear slacks she was told that it would not show respect to jehovah and that women in the kingdom hall should "dress appropriately" by wearing skirts or dresses.

after discussing this, my mother and i feel that the manner of dress of a jehovah's witnesses, whether man or woman is totally irrelevant to respect to jehovah god.

clearly, even if one were to present themselves at hall in rags, that person is not disrespectful to jehovah if his mind and heart are open to god's word.

A brother (elder) who had recently came back from a holiday in Spain said from the platform that when he was helping out on field service he refused to couple up with a spanish brother because the spanish brother was wearing sandles without socks, he said he was ashamed of him!! and wasn't prepared to work with him. And this was in SPAIN

According to the congregation I last was a member of, the brothers were told to wear suits when on the platform even though you may have smart jacket and trousers this was not acceptable.

I was taken off carrying the microphone because of wearing jacket and trousers.

The night they mentioned this new "scriptural doctrine" Guess who broke that rule one hour later when he closed in prayer, You;ve guessed right an ELDER

and what brought me here was me (a non-jw) seeing a jw girl.

i've been out of this situation for a while now.

I'm setting the record straight, there was a time when an elder did speak the truth to me, that was the time he said to me "you will never be an elder because you won't agree with the elders.

HE WAS PERFECTLY correct and I told him that,that was the truest word I've ever heard from the the body of elders.

I agree with fokyc the worst of the bunch are the elders, what do you expect of the followers when they set the example they do. I have already put on a few threads re; lies but will. continue to do so from my experiance in the borg.

I am absolutely disgusted with the way they can glibly LIE so easily, They just don't know when to throw the shovel away, they dig themselves deeper and deeper in the mire.

Retiring today!

today is my 60th birthday, so i am now officially retired!

actually, my last day at work was yesterday, and my colleagues gave me flowers, wine, chocolate and took me out to lunch.. this is the first birthday i've ever had as a non jehovahs witness, and it feels very strange to be even acknowledging it, let alone celebrating.

i am going out tomorrow evening with trev, linda and a few other fading or former jws for a curry at a local restaraunt, which i'm very much looking forward to.

Strange picture In J W publication

.this "new world scene " is from p 190 of the "bible teach " book dated 2005.. it is just a joke.

they have transformed their key belief into a cartoon type kiddies scene.

is there no thought of child safety?

It amazes me the pictures that I've seen of paradise over the years, I live in the country were there are many domesticated animals about, I never see in there pictures any cow packs or such unsightly droppings, are the animals going to stop doing this sought of thing????.

We might think that God is a God of love and is prepared to forgive everything, but what about the scripture in James 3 v1 surely thats a warning to ones in office.

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.

it starts with learning something new that was not known before.

in the case of jehovah's witnesses, the individual is introduced.

I was, as most witnesses were, presented with a wonderful picture when I started,.

I lasted 30 years with that picture coupled with the fear factor which came in many different forms

They keep them, the masses, by constant LIES and we fell for it .

What a mug I was.
