elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).
he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.
co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

There is a midwest assembly hall that has for years had people assigned to it from great distances away for one and one reason only. To spread the cost of maintaining it across a wider group of people. They would routinely assign people to it that would need to make a 3-6 hour drive for a circuit assembly. It truly was insanity and I never had to attend it.....but just heard the stories.

TD: Related to why is the Tucson Assembly Hall not being used for Regional Conventions this year and why were they paying for the Civic Center in Tucson?
I know some people in the area and the answer to that was that the Tucson Assembly Hall is already being used 100% on weekends for Circuit Assemblies and Regional Conventions. There were no more open weekends so they had to rent a space to fill the gap. Possibly in the future they will simply consolidate more congregations into the planned Regional Conventions so they can abandon renting facilities in the future.
Great into in this thread. As this cult continues to shrink I believe anything is possible as they try to keep the scam running. Considering the poor Regional Convention numbers....at some point it seems like a sale of all real estate is inevitable and then a move to only online meetings/conventions. My question is how fast will that happen.....the process of selling and consolidating congregations/branch offices has been going on for a couple decades now. It has been picking up speed in recent years.
don't complain if you get kicked out of bethel after 23 years (it's really a blessing to be assigned back to the field) and don't complain if they sell your kingdom hall even if you have just invested your time and energy renovating it.. so encouraging?.

Basic message: You should still have full devotion to God and Watchtower when all of your hard work amounts to nothing and you are cast aside by Jehovah's Witnesses.
From 2020 to 2022 the decline in congregations totaled -2,740 in just two years which is a pretty shocking statistic......at least it is shocking to me. I also know of at least one area of the U.S. that is ramping back up the mergers and consolidations of congregations/Kingdom Halls that were paused during the pandemic. i’m a pimo ministerial servant and i won’t fade because i want to keep my front row seats watching what happens next few years.. my predictions are that this current governing body will slowly die off and the current younger helpers will be the next gb.
they will eventually have new light that they were wrong about 1914 and the overlapping generations.. the new light will be something on the lines of the last days are now because of king of north king of south pushing each other etc etc.
they will do their very best to burry old literature and try to change the past trying to make it sound like they were right all along just as they have done for 150 years now.
I haven't been on here in quite some time as I am mostly hanging out over at Reddit EXJW these days. But I still catch up on the threads here to see what the topics are.....
InDoubtBigTime: My advice to you is to consider stepping down as an MS. Myself or others here or on Reddit EXJW will help you with this. Staying in just to have the inside track or relationships is really cutting your life short based on what it could be. The most impactful thing any JW male can do it so step down from being an MS or Elder. Secondly, stop volunteering all of your time to provide free labor for Watchtower.
Related to what may happen in the next 5-10 years.....this is one of my favorite topics and I believe there is at least some evidence to predict a few things that we are already seeing.....
1. There is an overall decline in the number of JWs that are active. This is from many different demographics. The Borg is slowly shrinking.
2. There are not enough MS/Elders to run the show in many congregations. Thus, Elders are doing mics, stage, A/V or (gasp!) sisters are taking on roles that were always done by males.
3. The foundational JW membership is aging and dying off at an increasingly rapid pace. In 10 years or less many of the bedrock members of JW Land will be dead.
4. There is not going to be a replacement of the older JWs that die off 1 for 1. The replacement rate is going to be something like for every 3 older JWs that die off...there will be 1 younger person that decides to stay a JW. Or for every 4 older JWs that die off there will be 1 younger JW that stays.
5. Based on points 1-4, the only for JW Land to operate as it does today is to keep shrinking. Merge congregations, sell Kingdom Halls, reduce the number of COs, merge or eliminate branch facilities globally, etc. Honestly, for point 5 there is a great deal of evidence that this has been happening for about 20+ years. I was a bethelite when they started cutting older JWs and sending them home with nothing.
Based on the points 1-5 above I feel there is quite a bit of evidence to show that Watchtower / Jehovah's Witnesses will continue to shrink as an corporation/cult. Getting smaller and more extreme each time they have to downsize a bit more just to keep the scam going. To me, there is quite a bit of evidence that this is already happening.
The unknown is how fast it will happen. Will the Borg shrink in a massive way in just a few short years like 3-5 years? Or will it take 10-20 for all of this to play out? No one can say for sure. One certainty is that in 10 years a significant % of existing JWs will no longer be alive.

I am actually kind of surprised there has not been some Breaking News posts and request for donations at this point.
I live in the midwest U.S. with about 3 million people. There is an increasing number of areas of our large city that are JW free. Meaning there are no JWs that live there, no congregations, etc. The congregations that have the territory for these areas are not able to even work the territories once per year.
Can't say for sure about the area of Florida that was impacted....but it may be that there are few JWs and few congregations that were directly impacted in a large way.
15 years ago there were 5 congregations now there is only one and it is still struggling.
congregations closing their doors doesn’t mean business is good.
it looks like this last one to fold had no young witnesses, they either left the religion or moved.

Congregations are on the decline no matter how you look at it.
i can see it that watchtower will become an online/tv based group with just con-vention hall$.. field service would be letter writing and phone preaching, door to door is done.. watchtower will have pay to view programs and still ask for donations after all that.. zoom meetings are here to stay.
kingdumb halls will be sold off except for con-vention venues, or need for new ones$.. df'ing will continue.
the craziness will continue.
I have not posted here for awhile. Depending on how fast the USS JW Land ship is sinking.....I think anything is possible. As the GBoobies and the Bethel Borg get more and more desperate.....I think almost anything is possible.
They are already getting pretty desperate in my opinion.

I find that many older JDubs get to the point where they are tired of the JW Land Rat Race and start to get lazy about everything related to their role in the Borg. I comment regularly on Reddit that pure laziness can explain many of the ridiculous things that have taken place in JW Land since around 1995.
i believe the the organization will tell it's members to sign over their mortgages and savings to the organization.
because of the impending fall of the financial institutions and the organization is the only place where it will be safe.
this has to be the only scenario possible because obviously they won't do a jonestown and where could 8 million flee to?
