so remember how assembling together is a command and no man or government can stop us, even if it means going 'underground', even if means being arrested, jailed, beat....can't stop us from assembling together----until covid.

now it's "false regligion" fighting for their constitutional right to meet together while the jws seem to be perefectly happy zooming their lives away..

In another post I brought up thoughts around "can you see the end of the JW Org based on either Financial or Legal problems".

Most commented that a slow decline of the JW global org is most likely.

My thought is possibly Covid and the current state of affairs within the JW org could hasten the decline/exodus of people.

For anyone that was part of JW Org in the 50s, 60s or 70s....the organization today is unrecognizable compared with how things were back then.

Many, many realize this and at least in their minds are thinking "all of this makes no sense and why is the JW Org in the ditch".

Unfortunately, there are so many liabilities in trying to leave JW Org and many that are older have few options or support outside JW Org that they are stuck. A sad but true reality for many.

in britain, horse racing rules state that races should be over a minimum of five furlongs, while the longest race is over 4m2½f.. .

nascar races generally last anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours, depending on the length of the race, number of laps and track conditions.

As you age as a born-in JW you have to embrace two realities. That you are going to die and not realize anything the JW Org has been saying. Or that you cannot figure out any good way to exit JW Org without it being a massive wrecking of your life (assuming that much of your personal life is wrapped up in being a JW).

Conversation with my PIMI Dad concerning zoom meetings

in a recent conversation with my dad, i asked how he was enjoying the zoom meetings.

he lives in a rural part of australia, virtually untouched by covid-19, in fact, the state he lives in has a limit on religious gatherings of 300, which could easily handle the average attendance of congregation meetings.

so i asked why don't they resume meetings as usual?.

Joey - Similar discussion in the link below. I have been trying to come up with scenarios where possibly the Corp JW Org is going to collapse in some way. I could only come up with a financial or pandemic related collapse becoming reality. With the release of the January/February Meeting Workbooks - it is now clear the Corp JW Org is pretending nothing has happened with the pandemic and all is normal (which is insane). Existing JWs (like me) continue to attend zoom meetings where everything is about the door to door ministry even though there is none! Again, insane! But PIMI JWs are simply blind to anything that would suggest the Corp JW Org is in the ditch spinning its wheels to stay alive!

evidently it would seem the wt sold the rights and will get royalties from "listen obey and be blessed.." this obviously is a trial balloon for what's to come.

kim and mikey alluded to this and i have been wondering why they are planning on spending hundreds of millions on a new movie studio in n.y. and also in australia just for the benefit of the few million jdub's.

well here's the answer, they are going to make money off the royalties from their music and video content selling to other church groups.

Same question I posted on another thread on this topic. Any intelligence or background on how this happened? For existing JWs this is a pretty significant sign that things are in the ditch. But likely few will see this video or even know this has been done.

When will the JW Org count for nothing on the World Scene ?

i was wondering if any of you experts on statistics and trends etc could answer the question above ?.

if you know how to do it, if you can extrapolate a true figure for the falling membership in areas that are internet connected, then we can say " by the year **** they will be so small in the internet regions that they will be on the brink".. i have put this topic in " scandals and cover ups" because it seems to me they are trying to hide how many are leaving, and how few are joining in the areas mentioned.

the non internet places will not contribute much in the way of $$$, so however the figures change for them, up, or down, makes little difference.

The JW Org has been doing many things to separate from the local congregations over the last 10-20 years and make them islands. Most Elders have no clue how much liability they have as individuals and that they could be sued for their decisions as Elders or as a Body of Elders. The Corporate JW Org is not going to come to the rescue when that happens. As has been discussed here in many threads....most Elders do not realize that they have been placed in a terrible situation by the Corp JW Org. If they do realize the awful situation they are in - they still do not have the courage to embrace reality and step down as Elders simply to protect themselves and their families from liability. Can you imagine as an Elder that has been a "good soldier" for Corp JW Org having to get an attorney and defend yourself in a lawsuit? The process and attorney fees could easily wreck your mental health, your finances and ruin your family.

PS: If you are an existing JW (as I am) and you have anything that comes up related to the Body of Elders such being accused of something, some bogus counsel where they are trying to control you or really almost anything that could impact your personal life.....first response should always be....."I need to discuss this with an attorney before having any discussions with the Elders." In the vast majority of cases whatever the issue is will be dropped like a hot potato due to legal liability.

Congregation Letter - 2021 Magazines Delayed???

we had a letter read in our cong.

last week that said the public wt and awake would be delayed during the beginning of 2021. meaning we would just use the 2020 version into 2021 and there would be no new ones at the beginning of 2021 until an undetermined time sometime during the 1st half of 2021. at least that is the gist that i remember.

it was in what atlantis provided but there was no further detail....very brief.. any more intel or speculation on this?

I see that the January-February 2021 Meeting Workbooks have now been released since I posted this topic. Myself and I think many others had a thought that the Meeting Workbooks would be adjusted for 2021 given Covid-19 impacts continuing likely through the end of 2021 or even longer potentially.

The idea that JWs (like me) are continuing to sit in meetings and to talk about the door to door ministry while there is no door to door ministry is INSANE.

I think many R&F JWs were hopefully that 2021 would bring some acknowledgement of the pandemic, that we are no longer meeting in Kingdom Halls, that we are no longer doing traditional ministry and so on and so on.....

Even my strongly PIMI father has stated "if JW Org. continues to pretend that the pandemic has not happened....then they are going to start losing many people".

Many, many interesting thoughts throughout the comments here. Sadly, I think the slow decline is most likely as many have suggested. My deep interest is to have something significant happen within my lifetime to minimize the influence of the organization on existing JWs which includes me and my extended family.

Likely just wishful thinking and the reality is that any JW with no good way to escape is stuck until death or until the org starts to more significantly fade away - which could be decades.

A financial shock or a global virus that kills off significant population are the only two things I could come up with that could possibly happen sometime soon.

What I find interesting is even some of my PIMI family is embracing the reality that all is not well with JW.org and that many current JWs are just going through the motions due to not having a good way out of the org. Wondering what could realistically lead to the collapse of JW.org in the not distant future? I find it hard to come up with anything that is a REAL, NEAR-TERM event or issue that could cause this. Seems like a slowly fading org. is more realistic. Interested to know if others have some solid thoughts in this area?

Financial Collapse: Could happen due to lawsuits and an ever diminishing amount of money coming in from R&F JWs. The older JWs that are the primary financial support are passing away and even younger PIMI JWs (myself included) have no interest in supporting JW.org in any large way.

Disease: I think this one is unlikely, but an extreme amount of death due to Covid within JW.org could lead to not enough R&F drones to keep things going. Potentially leading to the financial scenario.

That is it! Really hard to come up with any major thing that could cause this to happen.
