Hey Bigboi,
Doesn't it seem like Shaq gets away with murder under the basket? I am a Pacers fan and couldn't believe the way he was allowed to shove Rick Smits around last year in the Finals.

they won.
not that i care (don't 'do' sports anymore since the tix are priced so way out of my 'league' that i am 'silently' protesting...).
but, i thought it might be an interesting 'topic' for some.

from a thread on greatcrowd.com re the weakest link.
did anyone watch tonight?.
they mentioned us!
Expatbrit,
It is funny that you should bring that up. I watched it with my husband (a former baptized jw). When he came home for lunch today and saw that I was on this forum, he asked if anyone had mentioned the show. I had to tell him no at that time. Thanks for mentioning it. It was comical!

i am floundering!.
today my jw son told me that he had seen an email in our family account written to me from an exjw.
it contained very little, but enough to let him know that i was in contact with outsiders about my doubts and feelings.
Dear Lost,
I am not and never have been a jw, so I am really not in a position to give you advice. However, I am having trouble getting past your son's lack of remorse for reading your mail. Even though it is a family account, if it is addressed to you, he should not have read it. Doesn't he feel guilty about reading something that was not addressed to him and then blackmailing you with it? I am having trouble seeing which is the greater sin.

i am a policitcal conservative, at least a fiscal conservative and sociel moderate.
i support the death penalty, but i agree that our judicial system needs to overhaul how wwe treat criminals to achieve better rehabilitation results.
and of course, withhold the death penalty in cases where there could be doubt.. in mcveigh's case, i believe that he deserves the death penalty.
Englishman,
First, I recently saw something on t.v. that said that crime is up in England. Is that true?
Second, I am not up on all my religions, so I was wondering what religions condone the death penalty? I know the Catholic Church is against it. I would suppose most mainstream religions are also.
Third, do you consider China and Saudi Arabia to be "fundamentalist countries"?
Thanks,
Rutht

Seeker,
I understand your point, but what about the children's right not to hear that word? Haven't their civil rights been violated as well? I guess what I am trying to say is I think sometimes we get so involved in a person's right to say something, that we forget about the rights of the person that is listening. Does that make any sense?
Thanks,
Rutht

Seeker,
Are you saying that it would be ok for an adult to stand before a group of children and spout the "F" word simply because he/she has free speech to do so?

deism - a religion for the 21st century?.
more than 200 yrs ago deism made its mark on history.
many noteworthy people including a number of the founders of the united states were deists.
Janh,
What ever happened to your pink unicorns? You were the one making the comparison of Santa Claus to God, not me. For all I know the Universe could have been created from a blue unicorn. I am not about to try to defend or deny the existence of God. You can believe whatever you choose to believe. My point was that your analogy was not clear. If it makes you feel somehow superior to say that my thoughts are ignorant, then by all means take a seat on your throne.
Thanks,
Rutht

Janh,
I am a little confused with your analogy of God and Santa Claus. I know where the presents came from under my tree, but I have no idea how the Universe started or where it got the space to exist as it does.

adoption by jehovah's witnesses is blocked .
the independent - united kingdom; may 26, 2001. by brian farmer.
a couple originally approved by a council as adoptive parents have been refused permission by social workers to adopt a child, because they are jehovah's witnesses.
Dear Lupylu,
I find your comments very interesting, and I was curious as to whether you are a jw or have relatives that are jw. Also, you mentioned Chicago, and I wondered if you lived close to the Windy City.
Thanks,
Rutht
did you ever read in the scriptures where christ told his followers to meet at a certain time to go and witness?.
did you ever hear christ tell his followers to count there time?.
better yet did christ ever have regular meetings to attend?.
Dear God_Knows,
I couldn't have said it better!! Thank you.
