  Pioneer Service School Adjustment for 2014

  the pioneer service school will now be only one week, monday thru saturday.. it will consist of 40 hours of instruction and illustrations/presentations.. the reasong given is that this will make it more accessible to the pioneers for due to work schedules and for congregations having to sponsor and support the school.. it will make it easier on everyone and those who haven't attended in the last five years may be able to attend this school with the new curriculum.. .

  what do you feel would be included in the new curriculum.

  probably more worship of the governing body and they don't need two whole weeks to get this across.. .

  If they think they can cover the (new - 2010) Pioneer book in one week then that's mad.

  Even with hours of homework every night it's a struggle to fit it all in!

  Yes, that whole "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" campaign was pretty much the sole focus for seven intense years.

  In the years to come, will JW's look back on the current day campaigns and laugh at how hard they all worked at teaching something that was later completely dropped?

  Since most JW's HATE giving talks and doing meeting parts, why does the Watchtower Society still require it?

  i loathed giving talks and doing meeting parts.

  i dreaded all assignments.

  i was intelligent enough and always did a good job, but all my jw life (born in to mid-30's) i enjoyed giving talks about as much as a visit to the dentist.. i am sure that 90% of all jw's similarly dislike it.

  A JW friend told me he wanted to come off the school but didn't know how to go about it.

  I told him to notify the School Overseer, and when they TMS Overseer asks him "Why?", tell him that you've been on the school for 15 years, and finally you've graduated!

  Not all of these were mine, but many are. In fact I have over 70 pages of these crazy, ad-hoc teachings, and climbing.

  For a few months, every time I read or heard a WT statement I stuck it into the WT CD ROM to find the historical references.

  I have to say that in almost EVERY instance, there had been one or more flip flops.
  In the end I was no longer suprised when even the daftest thing (playing chess!!??) had been flip-flopped on.
  It really is on just about every topic the WT comments on.

  What then amuses me is the glorious statement by Paul:
  Galatians 2:18 "For if the very things that I once threw down I build up again, I demonstrate myself to be a transgressor."

  i think we all know the reason millions of less hours.

  when i was in we went to a rv by the kingdom hall then drove 30 minutes out to the country to knock on a door then back to the city for one more door.

  god must be so proud!

  SFPW Jesus said to keep on the watch, and that's what those faithful brothers have done throughout the years.

  Keeping on the watch and giving false hope/promises that armageddon is imminent are two very different things.

  If my smoke detector went off every day I would not be grateful that there 'might' be a fire. I would throw it away as clearly defective.

  If the manufacturer of that smoke detector also made other items which kept failing, I would no longer buy from that manufacturer.

  Basically saying that once a building is dedicated, it can never be re-dedicated to another use, especially religiously.

  My granny died.

  last week friday i was delayed in going to work, for which i am glad.

  it was an opportunity for me to help my gran one last time.

  she thanked me, told me she loved me and that i would be very blessed.
