I think they're sure now.
Kinda.
greetings, folks: so, it's been 40 years since 1975. and, if you were actively involved with the witnesses back then, the mindset of many was, that by early autumn of 1975, it would mark the anniversary of 6000 years of human existence.
and, the hope was then, that it would mark the start of the 1000-year of christ, from the heavenly realm.
but, looking back now, 40 years ago, in june of 1975, only 3 more months remained until early autumn.

Yeah, I meant directly after that meeting.
Regarding the 7,000 years to each creative day, to start with there was no question...
- w54 8/1 p. 478 The Purpose of Your
Witnessing
Each creative day was 7,000 years in length. See "New Heavens and a New Earth",
pages 40-43.
- w93 1/1 p. 4 Our Grand Creator and His Works
In an orderly sequence of six 'creative days,' each
thousands of years in length
- g03 9/22 p. 21 Science Was My Religion
the creative days lasted aeons
- w04 4/1 p. 6 Identifying the Wild Beast and
Its Mark
God's creative week comprises seven 'days,' or extended time periods
- w11 2/15 p. 8 par. 10 Holy Spirit—At Work in
Creation!
These are not 24-hour days but are epochs.
- g11/11 p. 9 Which Approach Is More
Reasonable?
Each day evidently involved a considerable length of time.
- g14/3 p. 5 How Long Did God Take To Create
The Universe?
each
of the six creative days could have lasted for thousands of years.
please post info here for a researcher.
thanks.
blondie would do but is under the gun at work.
I can extrapolate.
*** w94 4/1 p. 16 par. 8 Are You Resisting the Spirit of the World? ***
"each year about 40,000 individuals are disfellowshipped from Jehovah’s organization"
So in 1994 40,000 out of 4.5 million average publishers. This is 0.9%
Applying that percentage to today's 7.9 million publishers = 71,000 per year.
Add to this the death rate which in 2014 was about 0.8% globally.
Applying that percentage to today's 7.9 million publishers = 63,000 per year.
On top of this there are those who just leave.
Very broad estimates!
Regarding the CD-ROM, one was released last year and I've not heard that it is discontinued just yet.
I think it is inevitable that it will be stopped in favour of the JW website, however.
the music is somewhat different than in traditional jw-video clips.. https://sammankomst.org/#/video/tirsdag.mp4/forberedelser%20-%20tisdag.
There's proof right there that this is Jehovah's organisation.
And that the end is coming soon.

An often overlooked comment from the WT comes from a Kingdom Ministry:
Kingdom Ministry, 3/68, p. 4 "there are only about ninety months left before 6000 years of man's existence on earth is completed.... The majority of people living today will probably be alive when Armageddon breaks out, and there are no resurrection hopes for those who are destroyed then."
This would have been a very exciting meeting to be at, what with all the discussion about 1975 afterwards.

The WT have taught that Adam was created in 4028, 4026 and 4025 BCE.
They are clueless. When they change their minds again there will be a whole tribe of empty heads mindlessly nodding along to every word.

The WT no longer teach that each creative day is 7000 years long.
Oops, there goes another bunch of calculations down the pan.
so, i left about 5 years ago and at that time, the official ruling on number of members was a little over 6 million.
i google jw out of boredom the other day and find they are now claiming 8 million members.
sooooo.... hold on 2 million increase in 5 years?
Fisherman Your projection that this is the decline of the WT, is your personal view which is not supported by the chart.
I actually said that this is the start of the decline, not that the table demonstrates a decline. And yes, I agree that this is merely my opinion. I'm not arrogant enough to state categorically what the near future holds. Unlike some, I recognise that this isn't sensible to do...
What is decline? If WT increases by 1% per year, this is less than the world population increase.
You can correctly state that the number of members are growing, but in relation to the world in general they will be reducing as a percentage of world population. To me this is not legitimate 'growth' for a group who boasts about worldwide figures.
This would be increase in isolation and nothing to be proud about, much like the 0.2% baptisms we are seeing at the conventions.
because of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.
A great way of creating resentment in the congregation.
(Good News Bible) "They take advantage of widows and rob them of their homes, and then make a show of saying long prayers. Their punishment will be all the worse!"
sophia either got lost or is playing the role of dorothy!.
sophia, i mean dorothy, pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!.
