consider an example i often hear.
youre sitting at a dinner table.
the topic of conversation is regarding your mother.
I’d like to hear people’s objective thoughts on the justification of shunning.
The justification should come from the Bible, not from peoples thoughts.

if you live in the twin cities in minnesota, come to the uu church in bloomington on sunday, july 27th.
i'm giving a presentation there about jws and about leaving, shunning, things like that.
one hour, 10:30, free on-site childcare available.. here's a link with more info.
Good call OneEyedJoe.

not sure if this bothered other people, but it absolutely drove me crazy!!!!.
ok, typical annual memorial.
the emblems are being passed around.
It was like watching the Chuckle Brothers (to you, to me) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGZU61k1ibw
In fact this should be a new song in the Songbook, specifically for passing the emblems around to.
If the sound guy had started playing The Macerena, it would have made the whole thing LESS mad!

ok, typical annual memorial.
the emblems are being passed around.
This past memorial I saw the attendants pass the emblems around the hall, then one approached the speaker for the following drama to unfold:
1. Attendant passes bread to speaker (to serve the speaker)
2. Speaker returns bread (after being served)
3. Attendant passes bread back to speaker (so speaker can serve the attendant)
4. Speaker passes bread to attendant (to serve attendant)
5. Attendant returns bread (after being served)
6. Speaker passes bread to attendant (so attendant can return it to the table)
Repeat for wine.
Now reread those dance steps and imagine it happening in just a few seconds!
It looked mad. Absolutely mad.

yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.

stuckinarut2 "Is there something holding you back from putting in the application brother...perhaps a reason why you cant sign the form?..."
For every question you get asked, ask one back. ALWAYS respond with a question.
eg, when you were asked the above:
"What reason are you suggesting?"
"Have you heard something that you wish to share with me?"
"If I don't pioneer will Jehovah destroy me?"
"If I don't pioneer will you remove me?"
"Do you know that your questioning makes you look distrustful and discouraging?"
"Are you trying to be the master over my faith?"
"Do you know all of my circumstances? Doesn't Proverbs have something to say about that?"
"Is this your idea of encouragement?"
The list is endless. Just don't answer with a statement.

this is one of the saddest articles in the wt library... just two years after the organ transplant ban... a jw decided to not donate a perfectly good kidney because of this doctrine... which was changed in 1980. .
*** w69 11/15 p. 701 appreciating jehovahs protection ***.
a difficult decision.
I wonder how he felt once the ban on donating organs and the 'cannibalism' stance was changed.
It would either have messed up his mind knowing that he could have saved a life but didn't, or he would reason that he did what was asked of him so his conscience was clear.

i wonder if anybody else has wondered about the differences between those 2 flights?
in the malaysian flight that crashed from 30,000 feet high, tons of wreckage, body parts, bodies, documents, etc, all over the place.
yet in the pa flight 93, just a crater in the ground, no bodies, everything supposedly vaporized.
Apognophos: The plane dove into the ground at hundreds of miles an hour so there was no time to break apart
In the video clips showing the impact explosion, do you see any plane falling to the ground? Any smoke trails?

ok, is this a "new understanding" or what?
up until this point i thought that the borg refered paul as a co or do, but never gb member:.
p. 12 now, why would paul a spiritual giant who likely was a member of the first-century governing bodycall himself a miserable man?.
Paul was never one of the FDS according to newest, newest light.
The job of the FDS is to feed the domestics and since Paul never did that, for example by writing God inspired letters to the congregations to be kept as part of the Holy Bible.... Oh! Hold on a second....

we have been told this week that all in the elder and ms body will be read a letter from the gb about "make this the greatest month of activity ever"..... has anyone else had such a letter read out in their cong / servant body?.
i presume it will be all about "recommending strongly/insisting" that all these men should pioneer for the month?.
stuckinarut2, the truth is that they are all very jealous that you have the strength of character to resist the pressure - something they all lack.
They will hate you for this and pretend their disapproval is due to you not pioneering, not that you are actually a man with a mind of his own.
