Keep reading those verses...
(Proverbs 30:21, 22) . . .There are three things that make the earth shudder And four things it cannot endure: When a slave rules as king, When a fool is glutted with food. . .
with this shameless grab for more money this month (may broadcast), this scripture came to mind:.
prov 30:15. the leech has two suckers that cry out, "more, more!
" there are three things that are never satisfied--no, four that never say, "enough!

debating this was going to be the last day in field service was not hard after dealing with a nasty mess because i was grouped with the misfits of the kingdom hall!
i was reading this website on my phone while something started to stink in my car and one of the weird kids nobody wanted to work with yelled "hey, you leaking all over my seat, he was freaked out too!
" the older, retired elder, his pioneer daughter had forgotten to put his depends on and that became my problem.
What drives me mad is when the kids lean up against your car with all their coat zips and buttons scuffing the paintwork.
I've never known a collection of people so deficient in common sense.
Another (slightly related) example of stupidity, we were out in FS one day when a thunderstorm came out of nowhere - masses of rain, it came down in buckets.
Some of us saw it coming and had just enough time to run back to the car.
Others just stood like post boxes in the rain, getting drenched through, even though there were phone boxes and bus shelters nearby.
One sister just stood sobbing as the rain poured through her coat and clothes.
That was the end of FS that day and the soaked through ones were looking for lifts back into town.
Not in my car thanks, soaking the upholstery. I shot off before they got near enough to ask.
A boxing match before Pay Per View.
i have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.
i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.
i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.
It doesn't matter how much money the WT get, they will always overspend and want more.
This is what you get from a gluttonous and insatiable organisation with no idea how the real world works.
This "do more, give more" organisation will never be satisfied.
calling you bible scholars!.
i was asked this:.
how can this apply to jesus when he was not in the grave for 3 nights?.
Barnes commentary notes something interesting to account for the fact Jesus was NOT in the ground for three days and nights.
"It will be seen in the account of the resurrection of Christ that he was in the grave but two nights and a part of three days. This computation is, however, strictly in accordance with the Jewish mode of reckoning. If it had “not” been, the Jews would have understood it, and would have charged our Saviour as being a false prophet, for it was well known to them that he had spoken this prophecy (Mat_27:63). Such a charge, however, was never made; and it is plain, therefore, that what was “meant” by the prediction was accomplished. It was a maxim, also, among the Jews, in computing time, that a part of a day was to be received as the whole. Many instances of this kind occur in both sacred and profane history."

The corresponding WT explanation goes like:
*** w96 5/15 p. 28 Jonah Learns About Jehovah’s Mercy ***
Jesus was dead and in the tomb for at least a period of time on Nisan 14, was entombed throughout the entire day of Nisan 15, and spent the nighttime hours of Nisan 16 in the tomb. When certain women came to the tomb on Sunday morning, he had already been resurrected.
Jesus was in the tomb for parts of three days. His foes thus got “the sign of Jonah.
i'm sorry if this has been posted previously, but i haven't noticed it.. this was posted on reddit.. has anyone seen this moneysuck video:.

*** wi (World Without War) p. 25 par. 7 Who Will Lead the Nations to Peace? ***
The scandals among Christendom’s clergy are notorious. Immoral televangelists who rake in millions of dollars and live like kings.
*** g88 3/22 p. 7 Do Today’s Religions Feed or Fleece the Flock? ***
On one of ABC’s Nightline series of programs on the televangelists, ABC correspondent Marshall Frady said: “All the trappings of modern television evangelism seem a long way from the original simplicity of that intense young Galilean mystic without property, without any boards of directors, who just trudged about a dusty corner of the earth talking, two thousand years ago.”
*** w92 12/1 p. 26 Not Peddlers of God’s Word ***
“WE WERE selling our ministry for money.” Those are the words of a former “telephone prayer minister” interviewed in an investigative report of American television evangelists late in 1991.
This program focused on three televangelistic ministries in the United States. It disclosed that people are fleeced of tens of millions of dollars every year by just these three. One “ministry” was described as a “state-of-the-art factory for donations.”

-- w97 9/1 p. 13 Beware of False Teachers! "There will also be false teachers among you."—2 PETER 2:1.
Wisely, we take note of how false teachers introduce their corrupt thinking. Peter first says that they do it quietly, or in an unobtrusive, subtle way.
The mouthings of false teachers may seem plausible to one who is not spiritually alert, but their words are carefully designed "to buy" people, seducing them into serving the deceivers' selfish purposes.
Although these corrupt men "consider luxurious living in the daytime a pleasure" and "are spots and blemishes," they are also devious. They act "quietly," using "counterfeit words," as Peter noted earlier.
