My experience of christians and religion
by Doltologist inone or two of you have noticed that i use derogatory terms when talking about matters religion.
i offer no apology.
you do, however, deserve an explanation.. my father, bless him and now dead, was a survivor of belsen, the german concentration camp.

That's a pretty incredible story - thanks for sharing it.
Personally I don't like the terms Christards, Jokehovians, the LIEble, the Babble, sky wizard, sky daddy etc.
I can understand that people enjoy ridiculing something they dislike, but when it's persistent it looks like a juvenile high-five each time. A "look at me, I'm being abusive, aren't I clever, and you can't stop me" kind of thing. When I see them the first couple of times I think here's someone who hates the WT.
When I see the same months/years later I think just get over it, it's not good for you. Time to grow up.Even Oubliettes "Let's review" signature is tiresome, not to say I don't like his posts though, because I do and I read them all.
I also think these terms are red flags for lurkers.
Got a lingering doubt and come here to see what others might think? See these terms and run for the hills - everything you were taught about apostate websites was true.
If you don't really care about that and are more interested in getting your made up words out there, well that's your choice. You can be more effective, convincing and persuasive by using proper words than made up ones. Read any of Terry's posts to see what I mean.
All IMHO.

Turning disassociation around on the org
by tim3l0rd inrecently i was researching the scripture used to justify why da'd ones were to be shunned the same as df'd ones and decided that this could easily be turned around.
they use 2 john 9-11.. 9 everyone who pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the christ does not have god.+ the one who does remain in this teaching is the one who has both the father and the son.
10 if anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.

w11 7/15 p. 16 par. 6 Will You Heed Jehovah's Clear Warnings?
"How can we protect ourselves against false teachers? The Bible's counsel regarding how to deal with them is clear. (Read Romans 16:17; 2 John 9-11.) 'Avoid them,' says God's Word. Other translations render that phrase 'turn away from them,' 'keep away from them,' and 'stay away from them!' There is nothing ambiguous about that inspired counsel." -

Going back to the 2008 Generation
by FusionTheism init looks to me like the society is rapidly moving back to the february 2008 watchtower "new light" on "this generation," which said this:.
* jesus used "this generation" to mean "anointed ones.".
* in the first fulfillment, jesus was promising that some anointed ones would still be alive to witness the events of 70 c.e.. * in the secondary fulfillment, jesus was promising that some anointed ones would still be alive when jesus returns to judge the sheep and goats.. the new 2015 jw research guide posted on jw.org lists this 2008 watchtower article as the first article people should read about the "clarified understanding" of the generation.. this 2008 view also matches the statement in the new 2015 jesus--the way, the truth, the life book, which says that "this generation" refers to disciples who see the signs of the last days.. i think they are abandoning the overlapping part..

So that alone gives us a definition of how long a generation is.

Disfellowshipping Image

why disfellowshipping is a loving provision.
just by looking at this image we can see how quickly the barrier between the congregation and former member is put up, after the announcement that this sister is no longer one of jehovah's witneses.

27 Questions
by Saintbertholdt ini've been on and off the forum for a couple of years now.
mostly lurking.. the last time i set foot in a kingdom hall was back in 2005 before i disassociated myself formally.. over the years i've kept up with the doctrinal changes and changes in practices.
the problem is that because i haven't been practically experiencing these changes, much of the new information has not stuck clearly in my head.

Ah yes, COBE, not PO. My mistake.
The travel time is often not counted directly after the group for FService has been taken, but if you 'started' before the group then you would likely count your travel time as well.
The 30 hour pioneer concession is 2x when the CO comes, and also during the Memorial campaign.
