  Is this the earliest WT reference to 1975?

  i thought that the 1975 thing started in the mid to late 60's, but it seems the seeds were sown two decades earlier.is this the earliest reference to it?.

  Can I ask HOW you found it?
  

  The March 2016 WT has a revised teaching on when Babylon the Great took God's people captive.
  (For info it is now the 2nd Century CE, not 1918.)
  When new light comes out, I like to go back and search for what the WT used to teach, and catalogue the flip-flops.

  In this instance, a search of the WT CD ROM led to w77 10/1 where in an unrelated paragraph (p.14 par.12) it quotes from the 1944 WT but uses elipses (...) in the quote.

  Knowing how WT use elipses to remove critical information, I looked up the 1944 WT (I have the complete set as PDF's) and saw the reference to the seventies in context.

  To see if there were any earlier instances I scanned the PDF's from 1915-1944, and this was the first occurrence.

Therefore I will use the present time for going after the same things as do the Gentiles who live for the present.   i know im young.

  i know i still have so much to learn i mean im only 14 but but even at a young age i have learned and i know what love is.

  Thinking about planning the rest of your life at 14?
  Wow, I was still into computer games and sports, not mortgages and other lifetime commitments!

  You already demonstrate that you are an incisive thinker, well done. This is a very bad quality in WT world and you will be reprimanded for it.

  My prediction if you join up in order to please everyone else and get your girl is that you will at some future point realise the mistake you made, and have to leave anyway. Doing this after joining the JW's will be far more traumatic to you both, and any family you may have by then.

  If she loves you as much as you love her then wait until she decides for herself to leave the WT and join you.

  It really doesn't matter to your average JW what the bible says.

  Tomorrow the WT will say
  "After careful research, all the evidence indicates that these scrolls are not 'new' in the sense that they are written in the future, but are 'new' in the sense that they are old scrolls which are newly opened. Given this fact, it helps us better appreciate the unravelling of God's purposes. How happy we are to be living in a time when "those having insight will shine... brightly" - Dan. 12:3."

  New scrolls become old scrolls and no-one would bat an eyelid.

  How did Matthew Use the Word "Generation"?

  when splane wanted a scripture that demonstrated the bible's use of the word he went all the way back to moses and used ex.

  1.6. he could have stayed in the same book and used matthew chapter 1,written by the same hand.

  What is the Bible's definition of a Generation:

  40 years: (Numbers 32:11-13) Jehovah's anger blazed against Israel and he made them wander in the wilderness for 40 years, until all the generation that was doing evil in the eyes of Jehovah came to its end.
  

  35 years: (Job 42:16, 17) "And Job continued living after this a hundred and forty years and came to see his sons and his grandsons—four generations.

  37 years: Jerusalem was destroyed about 37 years later when Jesus said "this generation will by no means pass away"

  38 years: Deut 2:14 - And the days that we walked from Ka'desh-bar'ne·a until we crossed the torrent valley of Ze'red were thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war had come to their end.

  (Mt 1:17) "All the generations, then, from Abraham until David were fourteen generations, and from David until the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon until the Christ fourteen generations". When you read the list in Matthew, none of them are described as overlapping:

  65 years - Abraham to David : 2018BCE -> 1107BCE / 14 generations = 65 years
  35 years - David to deportation : 1107BCE -> 607BCE / 14 generations = 35 years
  45 years - Deportation to Christ : 607BCE -> 29CE / 14 generations = 45 years

  Changes and why

  so far these are all the recent changes i know of, please add more if i have missed anything.. 1. all construction projects have either been stopped or reduced.. 2. all bethels are downsizing by at least 20% within one year of the announcement, and almost certainly more in years to come.. 3. remaining belelites will have to make their own food, do their own washing and cleaning.. no more laundry department, no more kitchen and waiters, no more housekeeping!.

  and you still only get 80 per month, but no rent or bills, and food will be provided in the family fridge but you have to prepare it yourself.. as to why, it has been said several times officially its not because of a lack of funds, but how could that possibly be the truth?.

  Hezekiah's Royal seal and Dr. Eilat Mazar's video confirmation of Jerusalem's destruction in 587

  on page 55 of the wt's "god's word for us through jeremiah" book the box indicates that head archeologist of israel's jerusalem dig, dr. eilat masar's supports the idea that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce.

  its been shown through written and possible verbal interviews with the doctor that she does not support this idea at all.

  today i found this video where she states at minute 3:57 that the city was destroyed in 587. this is the first visual proof that i have seen concerning this subject discussed by her.

  The WT like to quote esteemed academics like Dr Mazar and use her credentials when it suits their purpose, but they are quick to knowingly misrepresent her when they need to support their increasingly untenable teachings on 607 BCE.

  Elder's letter requesting details of solicitors, barristers and accountants

  there was a letter sent to elders in australia on 18th november 2015 asking for details of publishers that are solicitors, barristers and accountants.

  what would be their motive for these details?

  the rest of the letter outlines 8 specific pieces of information to compile and send to bethel's legal department, and reiterates to collect the information only be "as you understand, without consulting the publisher.
